I have a very hard time with shoes because I need a wide and deep toe box. These were perfect, plenty of room to wiggle my toes. I put in gel pads at the heel for a little more cushion and I can wear them all day. Great looking too. Love the way they unzip all the way so you don't have to pull or tug to get them on. Just slide your foot right in.

These are perfect! I looked around for a very long time before deciding on these boots. I have very high arches so I was pretty sure that I needed a zipper of some sort. These are so absolutely stunning! The leather is soft and is like butter, the insides are also buttery leather. They were so comfortable right out of the box. Gosh, I feel like sleeping in these. There are no issues with the zippers, etc. as others have mentioned. They are simply lovely and perfect. They are a great choice. I could not be happier. These are some of the most lovely boots that I have ever owned. I wear a 7M and ordered the same and they fit me just fine.

Kick it up by 1/2 size. Love these boots and can't wait for an excuse to wear them! I usually wear a 7, but after reading all the reviews I ordered a 1/2 size up (7 1/2) and it's just perfect with enough wiggle room. Love the subtle and sophisticated, understated finish and of course Zappos' service rocks!

I absolutely love these boots! I ordered these boots for vacation and wore them for the first time on our first day! The trip was to New York, which means a lot of walking! I can truly say these boots were very comfortable and did not give me any blisters or rubbing! That is very hard to find without breaking in boots initially! Splurge on these boots. You will not regret it!

These Frye boots are comfortable (which i would not say of all Frye boots), fit like a glove and are beautiful. Love them.

I waited a long time to be sure I was ready to make this big purchase on these boots. I ordered two different colors (one was on sale versus my first pick color). Because they are handmade, the button tab on one boot was not completely symmetric with the other side - probably not noticeable when they were on, but enough to bother me that I returned that pair. I kept the sale pair which was a lighter color, to protect them and darken them I applied a coat of mink oil before ever wearing them. They are beautiful, the quality of the leather is amazing. I do not regret my purchase for an instant. I may consider getting rubber soles put on them, even with wearing them all the time and natural roughening to the leather sole, they can be slipper on tile floors at work. These are really comfortable boots, they fit great, and I get a ton of compliments on them. I think with care they will last a very very long time.

I purchased these boots in black leather and love that they are so classic and beautiful. I ordered a half size down as I live in the south and knew I would be wearing them with thin socks. They fit me perfectly and required no breaking in. The back zipper makes for an easy on and off and I found that the snaps worked well at the heel. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not find the soles to be slippery once I wore them out on the street for a while. These boots are very classy and will never go out of style.

I have hardly taken these boots off since they arrived! I wear them almost every day, and the soft, buttery leather is just heavenly. They were slightly stiff on the first day or two, but now they feel tailor made for me. So comfortable and chic. Worth every expensive penny. I bought the gray, and I think they are a perfect neutral brown. Nothing gray about them! LOVE!

This is a beautiful boot. It arrived and looked exactly as it was represented on the website. The quality is excellent, and justified the price for me. I feel I got the quality that I was looking and paying for. I typically wear a 6 1/2 in a boot, and a 7 in any other type of shoe. I bought the 6 1/2 and they fit perfectly from the first time I wore them. I wore them with a regular pair of slack socks, and they fit perfectly. I had no problem with rubbing or blisters. I do have a narrow foot, and found that these boots fit fine. If you do have a wider foot you might find these boots may pinch your toes. The shaft was not too tight either. I can wear these with tights, leggins, straight or skinny jeans and it gives enough room without looking too sloppy or too tight. I would purchase other Frye products.

I ordered four pair of boots from Zappos and though I really wanted three of the four, reality helped me choose the Frye Melissa Button Back Zip boot. Very sleek and beautiful boot. My calves are a little big so they do fit snug, but I am able to wear them with jeans and leggings tucked into them. I love the back zip and I have not had any problem with them coming unsnapped when I cross my legs. Love the boots. Ordered my normal size 7 and I am glad I did. My 6 1/2 Fryes are a tight fit so I decided to order TTS on these boots and I am not sorry. Love the boots!

I loved the color of the COGNAC Frye Melissa Button Back Zip but the leather was so supple, that the boots scratch easily. Too bad... I know myself, and I am hard on my boots... so they had to go back. So sad, as they were very comfortable and felt true to size.

I ordered the BROWN ANTIQUE SOFT FULL GRAIN and they are beautiful! Comfortable from day one and what a great color! Seem true to size. The zipper is a bit stiff at first but will get easier in time. Highly recommend!

This is a gorgeous boot. After reading reviews about other Frye boots and people having trouble getting their ankle in, I went for the zipper back boot, since I have some issues with my feet. Both feet were able to get right in and they're a beautiful color.

These boots are great! I ordered them in the wine color and I really like how the reddish hue changes with the light. I was worried that they might be too narrow in the foot and shaft - I have wide feet and average to thick calves. When I first put them on the foot fit nicely but the calf was pretty tight (it would just barely zip over jeans) but I took the advice of other reviewers and wore them for a while several days in a row and they have loosened up to conform to my calf nicely - still tapered but loose enough to zip comfortably over jeans. The leather feels quality and I have already gotten several compliments on them. I would highly recommend this style!

LOVE. That really sums up how I feel about these boots! They're my first pair of Frye's, and I'm certain I'm going to get a second pair in Brown next winter. I got the smooth Black, and absolutely relish how they feel. I was a bit uncertain when I first put them on, but after a couple hours of wearing them around the house, they felt like a second skin. The quality of the stitch is wonderful, the leather is luxuriously soft and molds perfectly to the foot. Get these boots!

I have the Frye Phillip Harness tall and I like them but I love the Melissa button back zip boots. I ordered the wine color and I agree with the other reviewers that they are not a true wine but have quite a bit of a purple or mauve undertone. The color is lovely. I ordered the size 8 (usually I am a 7.5-8) to make room for a bunion on my right foot. I am not sure I could go down to a 7.5 but I would like to, to try to make the circumference a bit smaller. I have 13 1/2 inch calves and so there is a bit more room than I would like since the size 8 has a 15" circumference. But I only plan to wear these with skinny jeans tucked in so I think it looks fine. The boot itself is elegant. I like the simplicity and the two snaps add a little interest. I have not worn the boots outside but have not had a problem with the snaps coming undone while walking or crossing/uncrossing my legs in my house as some reviewers mentioned. I think these boots are really sharp looking. And kudos to Zappos as I received them the day after I ordered them.

I love this boot. The leather is high quality and it is really comfortable. Occasionally the top snap comes unsnapped when I cross my legs but that is not a big deal. I expect these to last for many years just as my old Frye boots did.

I have had these boots for 2 days and, of course, we are in an early fall warm spell! I am wearing them around the house to see if my crazy toes can tolerate them. So far, so good. I will give them more house time but I really like the look once I figured out I have to unsnap the lower flap and pull the zipper all the down so my heel will fit in the heel cup.

I got these Melissa button back zip last year in Dark Brown Vintage, and have worn them many, many times. The zipper was a little hard to pull up the first few times I wore them, but after a short time, it was completely smooth and easy to pull up. I am 5'3', have longish legs, and my skinny jeans just barely fit inside them. I have gotten many compliments. I wanted a black pair of boots this year, and after looking endlessly, I just ordered another pair of these in black. Although they are beautiful and classic equestrian looking, I wish they had a bit more decorative detail, like belting or something more distinctive. The button flaps on the back do add some flair, though. They are just so comfortable, I couldn't find anything to beat them!

These boots are incredible. Very comfortable and true to size, perfect fit. As always, Frye delivers on quality. No complaints here!

Beautiful and comfy, got so many compliments on these. I only wish I could find a bag to match the Wine Antique color. It's proving to be a challenge.

This is my first pair of Frye boots. I have been told by many friends that they are comfortable right out of the box and very comfortable. I was not disappointed. The boots fit true to size and are snug but not tight on my calf. I am 5'3" and 125 lbs. 7.5 size fit perfectly. I wore the boots around the house all day. You can almost forget that you are wearing boots. Around town the first few times, they also remained comfortable. I little bit of breaking in, but not bad. They are well made and so far I am happy with them.

These are really beautiful boots. Ordered the wine color and it is VERY different than what is pictured, more of a subtle deep plum than the vibrant reddish wine I expected. However they are still so beautiful I plan to keep them. Ordered the 7.5 and the quite narrow foot bed is a touch too tight. Also, the bottoms are slick as ice, no tread or grip whatsoever; I literally slipped and nearly fell several times while wearing them around the house. So I will be going to a cobbler to help stretch the leather and to put some kind of grip on the bottom - a shame to spend more money on top of the quite high price of these boots but they are really that gorgeous. I would say if you expect to spend no more than the cost and wear them out of the box, you may be disappointed.

These are beautiful, soft, stylish , and reasonably priced for boots you intend to wear for years. They were easy to wear all day straight out of the box. They look great with short skirts or skinny jeans. They are also not too big around the calves, so if yours are larger you may not like them as much. One complaint would be that because they're so soft they look slightly slouchy after wearing for one season. If you prefer a stiffer riding boot, these aren't for you.
