I was so excited to see my favorite color in the Jane Strappy style on sale! I ordered them right away and thanks to Zappos' outstanding service, they arrived in just 2 days! I ordered my usual 9 1/2 and they fit fine in length. I was afraid the heel height would be too tall for me, but it too felt fine! Sadly, though, I had to send them back as the heel area was just way too loose. I felt like I was walking out of them with each step. I tried using an insole and wearing heavy socks and it just didn't help. I even ordered another pair of the exact same boot to see if it would fit tighter, but it didn't. It's just the way they are made. My Lynn boot fits fine in the heel. Wish these fit the same way. I hope this review helps others. If you have a narrow heel, keep looking. These are not for you!

Love these boots! Comfy and made to last. I used a leather protectant spray to help against water damage. I usually wear 6.5-7 and a 7 fits great.

I love these boots! I wear an 8½ and that is what I ordered. They fit just fine, although a little big in the heel which Frye is known for. Beautiful leather and style. As always, Zappos is the absolute best!

I absolutely love these boots. I have owned them for a few months and waited to write a review until I'd had ample time to wear them. I get tons of compliments. They are super comfortable. I ordered my usual size and another pair 1/2 size smaller so I could be sure I got the right fit. After thinking about it for several days and trying each of them many times I opted for the 1/2 size smaller. I am so happy I decided to go a bit smaller. The fit was a bit snug at first but they've stretched just bit and fit perfectly. If I had kept my usual size they would have flopped around on my feet after a few wears. These boots can be dressed up or down but I usually wear them with either leggings or jeans. Great purchase!

These are luxurious boots with an attitude. The charcoal color is a cross between black and brown, with a taupish cast to them. The leather is substantial but buttery. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. There's plenty of room to pull over pants. Very comfortable. Enjoy!

I was hesitant to order these because of the slouchy look. I have thin heels and calf's and battle with heel slippage and too much gap at the top of the boot. I wear an 8 in Frye flats but tried a 7 1/2 in this pair. The fit is great, a buckle at the top allows for cinching without looking odd and the grey color is super cute! Plus one day shipping! Too hoo!

Love them! I've been eyeing them for over a year, and finally decided to buy. Am thrilled that they fit so well and are comfortable. And Frye Boots' style is timeless.

I have looked and shopped and ordered so many brown boots looking for the perfect thing! Well this is it! The Charcoal is a spectacular color- it's really the prettiest shade of brown with a hit of grey. But anyone seeing them would definitely think they were a soft brown. These will be perfect with brown or black. Most other Frye boots I have tried on hurt my feet due to the stiff leather. These are soft as butter! They are so comfy in the foot I almost wondered if I needed to go down 1/2 a size but I don't think I will. I have a thin calf and these look great! These look a tiny bit slouchy and I like that. They have a timeless look and that is why I am willing to pay the big bucks for them.

The boots are amazing looking and the fatigue color looks great in person or on frye website. the picture on zappos does not do it justice. I wanted to make these boots work, but after trying on, my slim legs do not fill out the boot properly and doesn't look right. I am petite and weigh 100 lbs and will have to keep looking for slim boots because my legs are too small to make the boot sit properly on my legs. But if you have average/larger legs, this is one great purchase

I love these boots! I have been eye them for a while, and finally got them. It took a week to break them in. Thereafter they are very comfortable so much so that I bought a second pair different style of Frye. They are awesome!

I absolutely love these boots. They are so comfortable, the perfect heel height and balance. I purchased the green and it is really a soft moss color that goes with everything - especially blue jeans. I am a true 10½ and I purchased the 11M which fits perfectly. The calf is average width - people with wider calves will not be able to wear these ones. They are roomy enough across the ball of the foot, heel hugs but not too tight and nothing rubs. They are perfect right out of the box!

Holy Cow, are these ever beautiful! I have had my eye on them for several years and finally just ordered the olive suede ones. They are soft in the shaft and comfortable under foot. The heel height is just right for someone who wants a little lift with stability. I normally wear a 9 in Frye boots and this style was true to that size for me. My only note is that with the pair I received, one boot is a tad looser at the opening and upon scrutiny was in fact a bigger circumference (I will see if Zappos has another pair in my size for exchange). That said, these have a flattering close fit at the top -- not like many boot styles that look like Christopher Robin's rain boots.

Love these boots. Comfortable, run true to size and look fantastic. I had no problems wearing these even though my calves are not skinny and I had been unable to find boots that fit. I liked these so much I bought them in two colors.

Had ordered and returned many pairs of Fryes before I found these beauties. I wanted a pair of knee high boots with a casual vibe that were not too cowgirl, as I already have two pairs of Taylor Harness that are a little bit shorter and very cowgirl. These are just perfect. Many of the previous Fryes, while beautiful, we're unflattering to my short legs because they were either too tall, or cut my calf in half at an awkward spot, or too baggy in the ankle, or huge throughout the shaft. These are wonderful, though. They fit my small-ish calves well enough, though they have plenty of room for larger calves. They are a little bit rock 'n roll while still having an elegant look. They are slightly slouchy but stand up on their own. And they are very flattering on the leg. Not to mention the comfort and quality. I'm usually a 7.5 in Fryes (8 in heels, 8.5 in running shoes) but needed a 7 in these, as I was walking out of the 7.5. The 7 was snug in the toe box, but they're breaking in nicely.

I love Zappos and I love these boots. I deliberated for months about whether or not to buy them and which size or color to choose. I ended up getting brown - the color is beautiful. You really see the quality of the leather with this color. The boots run a little big so I got a 7 1/2 (I always wear a 7 or 7 1/2, but usually need an 8 with boots) and they fit perfectly. I wore them almost every day, they are the most comfortable shoe I own.

It took 4 tries to get this boot to fit, but it was so attractive I couldn't give up. The boots are hand built so each pair is a bit different. I had to go half a size down from my normal shoe size and then each pair felt too narrow, one shoe was wider than the other, etc. I stuck it out exchanging because these shoes just seemed worth the fight, but I must say in spite of Zappos solid customer service that it would have been so much easier to have tried on a few pairs of boots in the same size at a store and picked a pair that way. With the back and forth I was concerned I'd be sent the same pair I'd already had after try two in the same size. I love these boots. They are well made and very striking. My husband thinks they're killer sexy on me, the straps are flattering on my legs, and the heel height is fashionable yet comfortable. That said, while I highly recommend the boots, I can't say I'd want to order this brand online again with their fit being so inconsistent. Keep in mind that this kind of leather boot requires some breaking in and initially they will, and should, fit snugger than other boots or shoes. The old school fit around the ball of the foot and toes means they'll break in as you wear them in a way that will mold to your particular foot shape. I wore them around the house a lot to break them in without getting blisters or sore feet during the break in stage. They never gave me trouble. The charcoal grey ones are much darker than they appear online.

I've been wearing these boots almost nonstop for 4 months. They're heels but wear like flats - I've scurried to catch a few buses and trains in them with no accidents! They're the best and look fantastic. The extra bit of wear they've acquired just goes with the style. I will definitely have the soles re-done next winter but that's just based on how much use I get out of them. All in all - LOVE.

This is an amazing boot. I wear all day and then don't even remember to remove at night when I get home - they are that comfortable. Yet they look stylish at the same time. I have several pairs of Frye boots and this one is my fav. Always get compliments when I wear. You will never regret buying these boots; however, you will want other colors after you try them! Stylish, yet not so trendy that you won't be able to wear year after year. Great with skirts, jeans or leggings - can dress up or down. I always order a 1/2 size up in Frye - this is the only brand I ever have to do this with...

These boots are fantastic! I tend to purchase boots that are not expensive and then wind up not being satisfied when I wear them. After reading a review from another customer with the same problem, she stated that she was just going to get the better quality FRYE boots. I looked up these boots and found the FRYE Jane Strappy in brown. These were the exact boots I was looking for. I am a 7.5 but usually need to size up to an 8 for boots. They didn't have an 8 so I settled for the 7.5 and they were perfect...even for my wide feet. They look great!! I'm so pleased!

Love these boots. They are gorgeous and fit perfectly. I can wear my arch supports in them comfortably. My stepdaughter was wondering if they would be hard to put on without a zipper, but not at all. I'm delighted with them.

Beautiful boots! I did order the charcoal ones first (I should have listened to the reviews because they were more brown than charcoal) and ended up exchanging them for the black pair! They were so comfy from day 1!

First I ordered the boots JUST before Christmas and they were delivered in just a few days! The photos provided on the Zappos site were very helpful in making my choice of boots. The fit was good (I knew I ordered a half size larger, always do with boots). Very pleased with the fit. I went shopping the first time I wore the boots and they worked great. I have some foot problems and am extremely pleased with the comfort. I would recommend to anyone!

These are gorgeous boots. I started with a size 7.5 (my normal size in boots) and they were WAAYY too big. Ended up with a 6.5 which fits perfect. I have tried other Frye boots, which I was a size 7 or 7.5 so these definitely run bigger and I think it is because they have a lot of room in the toe box, even though they look kind of narrow. I have wide feet though, and these still fit.
