I've wanted Frye boots for forever, and it's been worth the wait: These boots are just gorgeous, and a teeny bit bad-ass. The grey leather is substantial and a beautiful shade, the heel height is just right, and the straps definitely give them a little somethin'-somethin'. I also ordered the Jane with the convertible cuff as another option, but these are just sexier. I ordered a 7.5 which is my normal size and they do fit, if a bit snugly. I have wide feet and a very high arch and athletic calves so I was actually surprised they went on at all. Yay! If Zappos gets them in an 8 soon, I will trade them for the next size up for a little more wiggle room, but a trip to the shoemaker for a little stretch will probably suffice. For reference, I'm 45, stylish-ish, low-bling. My 16-year old daughter thinks they are hot, too!

I received the Frye Jane Strappy in black for Christmas and could not be happier with them. Last year I got the Jane Tall Cuff in the brown and wore them almost every day, so when I saw these in a store I was over the moon. These differ from the Tall Cuff obviously in the shorter shaft height, but it is also a narrower shaft that is much more tailored looking. I am extremely picky when it comes to shoes, and these are the perfect black boot. The leather is soft but still stiff enough to stay up. I can easily pull these on over jeans with just a tiny bit of a gap in the calf which is great because I don't like the look of skintight boots. These run true to size. They look amazing with jeans, leggings, skirts you name it!

Observation about sizes - I tried on two pairs in the exact same size in this boot and they fit differently. They were both Frye Jane Strappy in fatigue size 10. One fit comfortably loose, and the other was tighter. I've often wondered why there have been such discrepancies in people's experiences, factoring the obvious difference in foot volume, width and length. But sometimes it's just individual pairs fit differently. (Just like jeans.) Moral of the story: don't give up if one pair doesn't fit quite right. I'm saying "true to size and width" because some do so. Love these boots, by the way. I preferred the looser pair but kept the tighter ones because the rest of the boot looked better. They've stretched out a bit, but they'll probably never be as comfortable as the first looser fit.

I love this boot! I bought the fatigue. They are a grayish brown (not green). This is a great casual style -- not too western and not too dressy. My calf is just over 16" and it has been 2-3 years since I have attempted to buy a tall dress boot because I always have to return them. I was surprised to find they have no zipper and at first felt it would never go on. I pushed on and worked with the boot around my foot and found it perfect in width, even in the toe area. The length is generous, but not too long (I wear an 8.5 and am a true 8.5). Then for the calf: at first I considered it would be a scrunchy look on me; not wanting to settle for this I pressed on. I am so glad I did! Sorry if this is TMI -- but I unbuckled the top strap and pulled from the top of the shaft using the loop and both hands. It is snug, but fits! I am using the buckle on the last hole, but can tell the suede will stretch with time. Yippee! They fit!

This is the perfect boot. The grey is the most amazing neutral color. I love this boot and cannot say enough about it. I tried 5 other boots before I discovered this one. The heel is the perfect height, and makes the boot very flattering on your leg. They are also really comfortable. I have average calves, and the boots fit over skinny jeans with room to spare, without looking bulky. There is no "thick ankle" that you can get with some Frye boots. It is the perfect blend of chic and edgy. There is a bit of cowboy in there, but the straps and color really give it a hip, edgier look. I love them over jeans or with a skirt and tights. They are worn in and a bit weathered, so if you are looking for a tailored, shiny riding boot, this is not the one for you. I can't wait for it to stop raining so I can wear these every day!

I love this boot, absolutely love it. I looked for 3 weeks for a great fall boot to wear to work and just running around. So I wanted a small heel and also something comfortable enough that could last all day and night. It was the best decision ever, and I might be buying them in the tan leather soon. The dark brown leather is perfect, and goes with basically everything. I have the hardest time trying to find boots that fit my calves, they are less than 14" and most boots (even in narrow) don't come any smaller. So these straps are perfect to making the boot fit perfectly. I have size 9 feet and average widths, I ordered a 9 and it was perfect.

Unfortunately this boot was too big, by about 1/2 size. I normally wear an 8, and my heel was sliding up and down badly. The leg was also too wide, by about an inch, even while wearing jeans or leggings. The width of the boot was fine and the sole has good padding and was comfortable. Beautiful leather quality.

This shoe is not true to size. It runs big.

I just got these for Christmas and I couldn't wait till the day to open them! Before they arrived, I was a bit concerned about the circumference being too tight, but my size 11 definitely has room to spare on my calves (15" circ). The color is beautiful, they smell wonderful, and they feel true to size. I hope they break in a bit, because they're just a tad stiff in the footbed. My first pair and I'm in love!

I love these boots! I looked for a while to find a comfortable brown boot with an equestrian look and a low-ish heel. So many boots have such high heels that they aren't practical to actually wear. These are very versatile, go with skirts or jeans. And they have the greatest leather smell....

This boot is SO sharp! Fits well, moderate arch support, nicely tailored calf tube (I have medium-sized calves, and the shaft fits comfortably). The coloring is distinct and will certainly draw admiring comments. The buckle detail is striking. Have "modeled" it with jeans (wow-za!) and a longer skirt (oh-la-la!!!). You'll enjoy having this style of Frye in your wardrobe... try it today!

Love, love, love these boots. They were the third pair of Fryes I ordered trying to get the right pair for me. I love the way they look on. They're perfect for casual day or a chic evening outfit.

Comfortable, look great. A little narrow through the calf over skinny jeans for me, but I have "athletic" calves.

I love the boots. They have the right length but run narrow. I had to go up a size, and now they feel long. Oh well, I'll need to get a heel grip, because these boots rock! I thought they were a bit too tall; to my surprise, they do fall/scrunch down a bit because the leather is soft.

I love these boots! The style is terrific. I love the straps and the fact that I can tighten them to better fit my smallish calves. I ordered the dark brown and love the richness of the shade. The heel height works for me since I wear them all day and do a fair amount of walking. I love these boots with skirts and tights- they look super! I ordered a size 10- the size I normally order in boots. They are a little roomy, but this is perfect for me since I wear a pair of socks with them, and they fit perfectly.

Love, love, love this boot! I've been wearing flat boots but never feel very dressed up in them, so wanted to find a boot the a heel that wasn't too tall or too "vampy." These fit the bill. Love the style, and they're comfortable (even though I ordered a half size smaller than usual only to try them because my size wasn't available). I kept them, and they feel fine and will probably stretch a bit. The leather on these will age beautifully, and I think they'll only look better the older they get! Definitely worth the investment. It is an investment!

I love these new boots. They have become my go-to footwear. I'm a slouchy dresser, so I like to find things that look cute with minimal effort. With a modal skirt, leggings and these boots, I'm good to go.

These boots are awesome. They are so comfortable and just high enough. I wear them with skirts, dresses, jeans...really everything and they look great.

Love these boots with Jeans and leggings, very cute! Agonized for a while about buying these or another pair ended up first getting the other pair but saw these on a gal at the airport and had to have them too. Guess those things are "meant to be."

These are absolutely beautiful boots. Color is a greenish, taupe brown. My only problem is the heel is too high for me as I've had foot surgery. If not for that, I'd be keeping these. Very stylish.

Can't say enough about these boots! They are so comfortable, true to size and the heel is perfect! Not too tall, but a great height to wear with jeans, skirts, leggings.

I purchased the brown tumbled boots. They aren't as dark as the picture and a lot shinier. I am 5'8 with really long legs and big, athletic calves (most jeans are tight on my calves), so I was pleasantly surprised these fit my calves! I tried them with a pair of skinny jeans, and I can make it work by pushing them down a bit, but it makes them slouch more than what I think looks good. I think for my leg length I will try to find a taller shaft; these fall about 3 inches below my knee. They are definitely true to size and width, and very comfortable, very nice leather. Zappos delivery was SUPER FAST !!!

I was back and forth on purchasing these, but I got them, and I am very happy! I am 37 and have muscular calves, and they fit like a dream; they are soft and striking. The heel is perfect and gives you some height. They are so beautiful to just look at and comfy as a boot can get. I got the 8 1/2 wide, and I usually wear a 8. I have no arch and issues with my feet, but these are perfect!

Love these boots... for wide calves they are great. Can still fit leggings and skinny jeans in. The gray is not light, kinda wish it was lighter gray, but it still is not the regular black or brown. Comfy out of the box and cushy footbed. Seriously have tried about 15 Fryes (over knee taylor, jane tall cuff, and many more) this year... and finally fell in Love. You will not regret this purchase.
