North Face is the only brand that seems to have their own sizing chart. They seem to be a whole size smaller than others.
The shoe looked great and very good padding inside but didn't get a chance to try it out.

Size and Shape all wrong. I am a 9 1/2 but ordered all the way up to 11 to get close to a good fit. Even then, the big toe area felt oddly cramped and the outside foot area seemed loose. Just an odd shape, compounded by the puffiness of the overstuffed ankle padding. Can't comment on general long-term durability or comfort, since I could;t get beyond the initial awkwardness of this boot.

These boots look fantastic and provide nice ankle support. However, they run small! I did not take the advice of a lot of the reviews and I ordered them in my regular size 10 men's. I needed a 10.5 easily. My foot fit, but my toes were up against the top and it was tight across the top of my foot. I, unfortunately, had to return them. I will reorder though in a size 10.5.

They seemed to be good quality; however, they are ridiculously small. I'm between a 10-1/2 and 11. Since these are snow boots, I ordered 11's because I felt they'd probably be snug with the insulation and stuff. When I tried them on, they felt as if they were three sizes too small. I had to end up going with a different brand since these aren't available in anything over 11.

Husband wears a 10. The 10 and 10 1/2 were too tight. This is not a good boot. Wasn't comfortable at all.

These are great boots until the rubber split on then. I have had them for three years and worn them on snow days - I feel like they should have lasted longer.

Ripped after probably 20 uses. It was over an 8 year timeframe but you’d think they would last longer

Ordered these in an 11.5 for my husband who wears an 11 in shoe, they were too small. So we exchanged for a 12, still too small!! And not like too small with thick socks on, too small with regular thin ones!! SO FRUSTRATING. Zappos was nothing but helpful and patient about the exchanges, but when we went to exchange yet again for the 12.5 they were sold out of that size. Then I went back to read more of the reviews on this boot, and many say the same thing about this sizing issue. NORTHFACE needs to fix the sizing labels on these boots, going up a full size and a half is not what anyone expects when ordering boots. It has left us so disheartened with all the back and forth that we probably will stray away from the brand as a whole after this utterly frustrating experience.

Bought these over a year ago and wore them maybe a dozen times. The rubber toe cracked and The North Face customer service told me tough luck! Not buying The North Face again. I have a pair of Keens that I have owned for years and they hold up better. As a matter of fact all my boots have lasted me years! Not these!

I have worn North Face boots for years and loved them. I ordered a half size larger than normal, but the boots are painfully small. I will buy another brand.

I bought a pair of the original Chilkats and they blew apart after only minimal use. They were, perhaps, ten years old and spent 99.99 percent of their time in my closet, so I think the glue just gave out. I wouldn't buy The North Face boots again.

Sometimes, a company focuses so hard on developing a good product that they completely overlook the essentials. I have had a turbulent week trying to like The North Face's Chilkat II boots. I could perhaps enjoy them if each pair lasted more than a few days. I call this chapter of my life "The Tale of Faulty Eyelets." My first pair of these boots lasted through one wear: I put them on in the morning, wore them to work through the downtown Minneapolis slush, and swapped out for casual shoes at the office. At the end of the workday - only my second time putting them on - one of the riveted metal shoelace eyelets popped off. I was bummed, but I figure mankind is bound to manufacture the occasional defective pair of footwear. I returned them to Zappos and reordered a second pair in hopes that my experience was a fluke. It was not. To their credit, my second pair of Chilkat IIs lasted through three wears (a couple days). Then I put them on this morning, and witnessed the swift death of yet another shoelace eyelet. The funny thing about boots is, if you can't tie them, they're not the most functional. So it is with great despair that I suggest The North Face Chilkat II has a faulty eyelet design. I will not be ordering these again, despite ancient virtues about charming third times and whatnot. For those of you who do order them: other reviews are correct, they run about a half-size smaller than marked. I'm a US Men's 10, and I fit comfortably into a 10.5. Everything else about these boots is completely wonderful - they're warm, they're extremely comfortable, and they laugh in the face of rather deep puddles. If only you could tie the darn things.
