Checked these out at Dick's Sporting goods and were very comfortable and lightweight. Only issue is the sizing as toes felt smashed in the toe at my typical size and too loose going up a size. Didn't have the half size that may have solved the problem.

The boot is very warm and comfortable. Fit true and are lighter than they look.

Exchanging because size isn't accurate. Based on reviews I went a size larger (usually wear a 10 and got an 11). Looks like I will need to go up another half size. Seem very nice and comfy if I can get the size right.

Husband LOVES them! I followed the advice of other reviews and ordered both a half size larger and a full size larger. He went with the half size larger. He has narrow feet though. If you have a wider foot, go a full size larger.

I received these just before a trip upstate for a snowy Christmas trip. I would agree with others that this is sized too small. Because of others' reviews I ordered two sizes and the larger one, while half a size larger than my usual size, did feel too snug at first. However it did stretch a bit and ended up being very comfortable and just what I needed. My feet remained warm even after two hours outside snow tubing and I got used to them.

Shoe feels short. Usually wear a 12 but this shoe fits my dad in who wears a size 10 1/2.

Thought they were great...you may have to buy them a half size up from what you normally wear!

Very comfortable, a little snug around the shins and a little taller than I was expecting. WARM!!!!

Great boot, super warm. Runs a little big

This is a great pair of boots. Inside there is a lot of padding with insulation and it feels snug and i can see that it will be very warm during really cold weather. Saying that, go up a full size or even 2 size larger because if you get your normal size you usually wear you'll feel that it's too tight because of how inside of the boots is constructed. (padding is very thick) I wear a size 9.5 on timberlands and when I got this boot, it was too small. I had to bend my toes... then I exchanged to 10 and it was not even close to being comfortable, so I exchanged again for size 11 and it was perfect. I am thinking if I went for 11.5 it would have been fine as well.

I ordered these boots and they are more comfortable than I imagined, warm and dry. I've submerged the entire boots in a big puddle and there were no leakage feet stayed dry and warm, Waterproof means Waterproof, I get nice compliments, I currently own 2 pairs of North Face Boots and going back for a 3rd pair. I wear size 10 and with thick wool winter socks you still can wiggle your toes and not feel crammed like the competition.....Zappo's are my go to store for all my footwear needs....price is always right....If anyone needs more details feel free to comment....These boots are top notch!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks Zappo's.

I have bought these boots for my five sons over the past 7 years and it has carried them through some serious NYC snow storms. I would definitely recommend them for the snow

Well constructed boot; however, we had to exchange for a full size larger. The boot definitely runs small.

Great boots. Kept my feet extremely warm and dry. They were comfortable too. I've had other boots that make my feet sore after wearing them for awhile. Order 1 full size up as they run small/tight.

Great looking boot, very warm. With all of the insulation, it runs small. Usually ear a 12 and had to switch out for a 13.

Very happy with this purchase. I got the gray and blue ones and they look awesome. They're super comfortable and kept my feet warm this week in the negative temps we've been having this week in Chicago. I normally wear 12s so I sized up and got 13s based on the other reviews and the 13s fit perfect.

I bought these boots to replace another pair that I've had a couple of years, and I needed boots that had better traction. I work in the city and the plowing in the winter is not that great so not only did I need traction, but also waterproof, and of course warm. These boots fit the bill. As other folks said in reviews, order a size up than what you usually wear because the sizing on these are a bit odd, plus the padding in these boots is extremely thick. I gave the style of these 3 stars because these boots are your average run of the mill winter boot designed more for function than fashion.

I have worn North Face Chilkats for seven years (they must be the Chilkat I model). Recently, the rubber lower on my boots just shattered (right boot only). So, I figured it was time for a new pair. My old Chilkats had many, many miles of winter hiking and snowshoeing wear on them, so they did not owe me anything. I decided to order some new Chilkat II boots from my favorite seller Zappos, but I was thrown into a degree of confusion by the many reviews indicating that these boots are way, way undersized and that I should order at least two sizes larger than my typical boot size. I decided to order half size up from my previous Chilkats and so far it seems to be a perfect fit. Two sizes up from my foot size would have been a disaster. I am thinking that people reporting undersized fit are having width issues and not an issue with basic sizing (just guessing). Going beyond any potential sizing issues, I give these boots a very high rating in terms of warmth, water resistance, and durability. I wear the Chilkat boots regularly for winter day-hikes and snowshoeing on outings generally about five miles per day. They are a very good fit with my MSR snowshoes. The stiffness of the sole shank make them an excellent boot for light to medium duty snowshoeing. I want to pair these boots with some good gator's for deep snow use, but I have not put this kit together yet. I have broken through thin ice on shallow ponds multiple times with my original Chilkats. The upside is that I was able to take my boots off immediately, drain them, wring-out my socks, and put my boots back on with warm feet for the rest of the day. The downside is that the boots took on a permanent smell that I was only able to defeat with a substantial amount of scented talcum powder. We will have to see if these Chilkat II boots have the same issue. So far, I think that the Chilkat II boot will prove to be even better than my (first or second generation) Chilkats. They are recommended!

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He loves them. They are very supportive and comfortable!

Sizing is off. You need at least two sizes bigger. I wear a 13 and a 14 was far too small. Heavy padding on the underside of the tongue makes the toe box smaller than usual. They look like high quality boots.

Robust and well designed. I loved these boots. I wear 8 and opted for the 8.5 as I read the reviews and it matched perfectly. It is so comfortable.

I purchased these for my son and my husband liked them so much, he bought a pair. These boots are sturdy, warm and great in the snow. Zappos is the only place we could find a size 14. They run small, so we ordered a size up and they fit great.

Like every other review, these boots do run really small (it is not an exaggeration). I usually wear an 11 but can some times get away with a 10½ so I only got half a size bigger and they fit me great. I can definitely see how a lot of people would want to get a full size bigger though. Other than that they are comfortable and I look forward to them keeping my feet warn and dry this winter.
