I've always been a fan of ASICS shoes and clothing, as they provide superior fit and performance. I've tried other shoes and boots, given their high rating on Zappos, but they turned out to be terribly painful. As someone with Type 2 Diabetes, I tend to develop heel pain easily. I've tried other shoes and boots but still had excruciating heel pain. These are the only shoes I can wear 10-15 hours a day that either eliminate or greatly reduce heel pain. The other great thing is that they make it easier to walk, which is something I do a lot of at work. They are also very breathable and that has eliminated the athlete's foot I've developed with other boots/shoes.

I purchased these for my husband. He has a somewhat narrow foot and normally wears a size 9. Our son has this shoe in a different color and advised that we order a size 9.5 for a better fit. Both my husband and my son love this shoe! It is comfortable for long hours at work or as a walking shoe.

The shoes are fantastic! And the order arrived in two working days! That doesn't happen often! I will be ordering at Zappos often - thanks again.

Absolutely the best walking shoe I ever bought. So comfortable right out of the box. Very nice arch support and so light on your feet. Zappos as always did a great job handling my order and return for a smaller size. Thank you Zappos!

I've been a long time Zappos customer/fan and these did not disappoint. Living in the Bay area of CA, I walk a lot and these do the trick nicely. One odd observance is the strange alignment of the laces (see 2nd photo caption that illustrates this) that are not centered like other Asics I've had, but are shifted towards the inner part of the foot. It doesn't affect the comfort or functionality, just takes some getting used to.

Took a couple days to break in. I am on my feet in the pharmacy 10 hours a day. Day 3 feels great. No foot pain. Feet feel good. Thought I needed a wide, the shoe molded to my foot after a couple days. No wide needed. Wore them very loose at first. Keeping them.

Very good shoe. I'm a wide and they are very true to size, super light and comfy. Great stability. My second pair of these shoes, excellent wear. Well worth the money and no better deal than Zappos.

I like these shoes. I do a lot of walking and they work well. I would get them again. I wear orthotics and they fit well.

As mentioned by other reviewers, the shoe is about half size smaller than U.S. sizing. I ordered a half size larger than my normal and it fits perfectly! Also I was worried about the width. I normally need 3E but this one had a good fit (Medium)--toes did not feel squished at all. As for comfort, this is the best I've ever felt. Very light and fits like a glove.

Comfortable right out of the box. Sizing is true and matches other purchases. I walk 3.5 miles/day in the city and feel very happy with my purchase.

This is my third pair. These shoes are supportive and comfortable. Like any new shoe the insole is paper thin. I purchase Sofsole insoles for another $20 but find it worth the added expense.

This is a quote from the person for whom I purchased these shoes: "The shoes are airy. I can feel it between my toes. I have had athletes foot in the past where my feet have sweat issues. This shoe has allowed me to be comfortable and keep my feet smelling good too."

I purchased these shoes for my son who is in Dental school and stands on his on feet most of the day. He had tried numerous brands, other stores but Zappos was his choice. It is a great shoe that provides excellent arch support and it looks good on a young student that s 6 5. If he is happy, his Mother is happy. I really, really, really love these shoes. I own 3 pairs. I wear a 2-year old, white/navy/silver pair for yard work and in the garage. Almost all the other time, I am in a newer white/navy/silver pair or a black/lightning/silver pair. Last month, I bought a ladies version for my wife. She loves the fit and wears them every time she goes casual. She preferred the white/lightning/black. We both can say they are comfortable right out the box and are comfortable all day.

My husband loves this shoe. He has had mixed feelings about ASICS. He has had good and bad shoes from them. But these are extremely comfortable on his feet. And his back doesn't ache as much when he wears this. He said these were comfortable out of the box.

I just got back from three weeks of travel through China and these walkers were amazing. I could have walked anywhere with them. They fit perfectly and were a great purchase.

Highly rated shoe, just as promised. My husband has bad knees and this shoe really helped with his daily walking. Highly recommend!

My husband loved them. They were immediately comfortable, no break in required. I chose them based on the reviews, and discounted another style because of the reviews about the high-rise back. I tend to select styles with a large number of positive reviews, and then read the bad ones. And of course, Zappos customer service can not be beat!

I am 67. I have been wearing this shoe 2 hours. These are the best ever. I have been wearing UGG's, Clarks, Nike and Mesphito's. I may these Asics to bed! Once again I ordered from Zappos. Couldn't ask for quicker delivery. I paired my Asics with the Drymax sport crew socks. The only thing you might consider is ordering 1/2 size larger. I typically wear a 9 and half. Ordered a 10, 5 stars!

These are great Shoes. They are comfortable, I use a custom orthotic and they are good in these shoes. And they look good.

Bought these shoes to wear as my multipurpose tennis shoes right before a vacation to Seattle where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. Since I ordered them very close to my departure date, Zappos dropped shipped them directly to my hotel so they were there when I arrived. I probably did close to 30 miles+ worth of walking that week in brand new shoes with no discomfort, blisters or anything of the sort. The shoes felt comfortable the whole time. A great everyday athletic shoe.

My new Asics from Zappos are definitely the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. I am a walker and walk on asphalt for 4-5 miles every day. The Asics are like walking on a cloud.

Now that my girlfriend and I live in San Francisco, we walk a lot. On top of that I've developed plantar fasciitis in my right heel, which can make those walks painful. I've always walked on running shoes and didn't think twice, but I've now learned that the heel setup of a running shoe is completely different from what it should be in a purpose-built walking shoe. I searched long and hard for the perfect walking shoe. Enter the Asics Gel Tech Walker - a shoe that beat out 250 other walking shoes in a Consumer Reports comparison test and came out on top. I can see why. This is a very high-quality shoe with thoughtful touches like metal eyelets, memory foam and extra thick hard-wearing rubber soles. The lacing is offset and follows the line of the metatarsal and is very comfortable. Makes me wonder why all shoes are not like this. The styling is conservative, yet sharp. They look better in person, and compliment blue jeans nicely. Asics really thought these through. As for fit, Asics shoes are great for my narrow foot. I usually wear 12.5 in Asics running shoes to give my toes more room upon strike (the ol thumb-width rule.) But in a walker you want them a little more snug, with no sliding around, and a 12 fit me perfectly right out of the box. If you're a runner I would recommend ordering 1/2 size smaller than your running shoe. One nitpick, I would like a tad softer heel cushioning. But maybe that will change after they break in. If you enjoy walking, treat yourself to a pair of these well-engineered walking shoes.

They are quite comfortable for walking and standing a lot. Just finished three 13 hour days as greeter for the Austin F-1 race and they did well. I normally wear a 13 but bought a 12 1/2 because of comments they run large. I also own a 13 and with a narrow foot they do run large. The 12 1/2 seems to work.
