The shoe is very light and comfortable at least initially. After walking 3 to 4 miles you'll begin to understand that the reason the shoes are light is due to the lack of support (padding) below the metatarsus. At extended distances I begin to feel pain at the bottom of the metatarsus area.

My husband wore these on our trip to Paris which involved a lot of walking and his feet were very comfortable. He ended up with blisters once but I can honestly say that it would have probably happened more frequently if not for these shoes! Be sure to order a half size smaller than your typical size. We already knew this since he's worn Asics before but if you're new to the brand beware of this.

This was a gift for my husband. He was wearing New Balance for around 5 years. He loves the Asics and feels they are a better made shoe and fit like a glove. No breaking in required. Zappos was great and very easy to order from on line. I also started wearing Asics and am a happy walker of 5 miles a day.

Fantastic walking shoe. I am recovering from back surgery, These shoes rock ! Have me walking in comfort further than I thought I was ready to do.

Zappos is great! Ordered one day - got the merchandise the next day. I had to reorder (my fault) and got the Asics gel shoes the next day. I won't hesitate to use Zappos again!

I have had past experience with Asics, I walk 4 or 5 miles per day and they work best for me. I have found the fit of Asics to suit my needs over other shoes I have tried over the past 20 years walking for health These will not be my last Asics, 73 years and going strong.

I was long overdue for a new pair of walking shoes. I was also on my way overseas and wanted something comfortable. These shoes were highly rated by Consumers Report so I ordered them. Zappos was great. The shoes are very comfortable. I think the length is correct, although the width is a bit snug. Overall, they are keepers and a welcome relief to my feet.

This shoe in 2010 was rated #1 in a walking shoe in consumers report. It's a great shoe.

Love the walking shoe. It is very comfortable. I marked that it felt true to width as it fits how I believe it should fit. The toe box is wide enough for my feet. In some shoes (very few), I have to go to a wide.

Other than having to reorder half a size larger than I wear, these are great shoes. I have been wearing New Balance 840 and 845 shoes for the last 10 years and changed because of a knee irritation and wanted to change the geometry of my walking shoes. So far the Asics seem to wear better, they are lighter, and needed no break-in, but as usual for a good walking shoe, they look bulky.

This shoe is great to walk in for conditioning, once you get used to it. It feels much lighter than previous ASICS GEL walkers. The sole feels like there is less cushioning and the lacing is off-centered but once you get used to these differences and start walking, the shoe feels great. Consumer Reports was right on target with this shoe.

These were for my husband. He has a job where he is on his feet 7 - 8 hours a day, as well as coming home and doing lawn care, etc. He has a lot of trouble with his feet being sore and tired at the end of the day. These Asics were recommended by consumer's Report and we tried them. He is still tired at the end of the day, but his feet feel much better. This is the second pair we have orderd for him, and I am sure not the last.

I explored this shoe because it was highly recommended by Consumer Reports. I am extremely pleased with the fit and comfort of the shoe. I use it for a lengthy walk.

Best walker ever! This shoe is made right for walking. It is very supportive, well ventilated, light weight, comfortable, and attractively designed! Lacing is along an imaginary vertical line representing the horizontal center of gravity for the shoe. In other words, lacing is offset to the left for the right shoe and to the right for the left shoe and this makes a whole lot of sense and is likely a factor in shoe comfort. Also, the walk in these shoes is like walking on gel-cushions; indeed the soles have gel-fill or at least feel as if they do. After a week of walking in these shoes (and keeping them on after the walks because they are so comfortable), I am confident they are worth the extra investment I made upgrading from a Nike+ walker to the ASICS Gel-Tech Walker Neo 2.

The best fitting and most comfortable sneaker I have owned. True to size fit. Great for the treadmill. No tired feet after workout.

I waited a long time for these shoes. They are well worth it. Very comfortable, sizing is accurate, the Consumer Reports ratings are on-point. Can't forget to mention the superior Customer Service from Zappos. I'm a happy guy! My son tried them on and ordered his own pair. He is a nurse and is on his feet all day. He is very happy with his.

Very nice shoes, light and cool. Based on other reviewers, I nervously ordered a half size larger than all other shoes I own. I was relieved when they fit perfectly. I highly recommend these shoes.

This shoe was purchased for my husband. He likes the shoe and considers it a good balance between support and flexibility.

Read about thiws shoe in Consumer Reports last fall. Had trouble finding it. Couldn't even order it from Asics. Called Zappos and had it a week later. It's comfortable and great for walking.

These are excellent shoes, very comfortable and supportive. I've tested them thoroughly and highly recommend them.

I liked them right out of the box. The padded back heel area felt a little too high. I am wearing thicker socks and works just fine. Would buy them again.

Since my first pair of Asics, I've been a convert. Their last fits my foot like no other. Occasionally, I've drifted to other brands, but never for more than one pair, and I seldom even wore them out. Recently I was given a pair of Air Jordans...cool looking, but not comfortable. I realize this is due to the peculiarities of my foot, but that's what I'm writing about. Stick with the best...Asics.

The Gel-Tech Walker Neo was first brought to my attention by Consumer Reports when it was cited as its number one pick as a walking sneaker. The style, fit and comfort were absolutely true to form. I've worn it daily to the gym for the past month and have absolutely no regrets about my purchase. Note, however, that although I usually wear a size 8 shoe I needed 8.5 in this product. However, I've found this discrepancy to be the case in virtually all walking sneakers that I've owned.

Good walking shoe. I saw this in Consumer Reports where it was rated #1. I'm never sure of the size buying online but the fit is good. Now my wife wants a pair.
