So comfortable -- I needed an outside shoe for hiking, yard work, general "off the road" use. These shoes are just perfect. My foot is slightly wider than a B and I found the laces just too short to tie securely. Plus I think these round laces just do not hold when you tie them unless you double-knit them and there is not enough length to do that. They seem to slip apart. So I have ordered different laces for the shoes. Other than that, they are great. And Zappos was great to deal with when I mentioned this concern. If and when they wear out I would definitely reorder the same shoe

Life-saving shoes. Love them and can't imagine how I could have gotten through the summer season without these. Just the right support -- more than a sport shoe, less than a full hiker. Waterproof, durable, vibram soles -- brilliant shoes!

I love Merrill's and this is a GREAT shoe. I only wish that they were a little less "clunky". I know you can't have it all....but in case a designer is watching these reviews. Very happy with my purchase. My last pair lasted 3 years, seasonal use -- lots of hiking in the rain, snow, and ice. TERRIFIC PRODUCT!

Recently purchased this shoe and then wore on a 4 mile hike. No problems wearing in. Very comfortable.

I was looking for a waterproof shoe to hike with my dogs in the PNW. I have PF and needed something with good support. So far so good. No rain yet, so I cannot speak to the how waterproof it really is.

I no longer run and running shoes do not give my old feet (I'm 57) the support they need. But I REFUSE to wear those old nasty white walking shoes that look horrible. I walked 7 miles one day last week in them with NO problems. And that was the first time I'd worn them. I'll still use my Merrell hiking boots for the trail, but for city streets and walking on trips, these are The Bomb.

Overall, these are great hiking shoes. I agree with previous reviews that they are not completely waterproof. I work outside in a plant nursery in all types of weather, and the shoes have worn considerably after months of continuous wear, but they will last much longer if only used for weekend hiking trips. I do use a different pair of shoes (Keens) when it rains, as these would not keep my feet dry in the rain. I ordered a half size up. They are not the most stylish shoes, but they get the job done.

This is my second pair. I haven't found another shoe that fits so well with excellent support and meets my needs. I am 62, walk with my black lab an average of five miles per day, everyday, that is 1,825 miles per year on paved and unpaved surfaces, in the beautiful Pacific NW. These shoes stand up to the task, my feet stay dry in our wet weather, and my feet appreciate the fit = no barking!

Cannot go wrong with Merrell hiking boots. The Moab is a high quality boot, great gripp on slick terrain. It does run a little small. Had to get 1/2 size larger than I wear in running shoes to accomodate an insert.

Tried on several pairs of hiking shoes, and so glad I picked these! Wore them for 7 days straight on a camping/hiking trip. Walked many miles daily. No blisters, no sore feet. Got them wet on the beach and feet stayed dry (although shoes weren't soaked). Very comfortable and true to size. Ordered my usual 7.5 size. Might have chosen a different color, if I'd had more time to make the decision.

First, full disclosure: I'm not a fan of hiking shoes in general. I think they're clunky and not so attractive. However, these shoes are a good compromise if you need hiking shoes for your adventure. They are still a bit bulky, particularly around the top of the shoe, but still flexible so you aren't stomping around. There's good torsion control in the sole so they provide better support than a basic athletic shoe. I've also tried the Ahnu brand hiking shoes and although I like the look of those better, they really don't provide the same support as the Merrell's. I wore these shoes on the trail in a gentle, but steady rain and the waterproofing was great.

I have "used" Zappos before this most recent purchase. They are, by far, the best to order shoes from. Efficient. Quick. Friendly. And it doesn't hurt that their prices are very competitive. And should you require an exchange, the process is easy and painless.

Cushioned and supportive. Good traction and room in the toe box too. Ordered 7.5 my normal size and they fit great. They are a nice color and were a good feminine shoe for hiking.

For a long time I refused to pay more than $100 for a pair of shoes. But, I have a hard time finding shoes that fit so I upped my limit to $150. I'm so glad I did. I already have hiking boots, but I wanted something lighter weight and still stylish. I also wanted something that wouldn't show dirt tooooooooo much. These were a great find! I've worn them both for light to moderate hiking and I've worn them all day on vacation as a "general" shoe. Recently I took them with me on a trip to Europe and they were wonderful to have as I walked along old cobblestone roads and paths. And they didn't look too bad with my casual travel pants either. I didn't feel out of place among the locals.

Did not like the style - very wide body in the shoe making it look bulky.

Wow! Fantastic! The moment I tried these on I knew they were winners. They are so comfortable and supportive that I can where them anywhere all day. I haven't tested the waterproof aspect yet but will when we go hiking.

Bought these shoes in summer for hiking in the Gila National Forest, New Mexico. They were very comfortable right out of the box, perfect fit! FYI, my heel tends to run narrow. If I had to do again I would not order the waterproof style. My feet felt really hot and sweaty, lesson learned. They will be great for hikes in the fall, winter, and spring! Great hiking boots if your feet tend to run a little narrow! So happy I finally found the perfect pair of hiking boots!!

Having stubby, wide feet I was a bit concerned about buying shoes on-line without trying them on first, but finding shoes that fit in our area is difficult for me. Although these are designated for women, they are a perfect fit for me. I'm very pleased with the promptness of delivery and the great fit!

Zappos is my absolute favorite company! They are super professional, very fast on shipping all the great products they have, and they have FREE shipping both ways! Zappos is the best! I've been shopping wth them for years! These Merrells are my second pair I've owned. They seriously are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet! They are super light and they fit my foot and heal which are a bit narrow. They give great support ! I am a loyal Merrell customer and a loyal and happy Zappos customer.

Merrrells are super comfortable and these hiking shoes are no different. They are a bit stiff but will be good on uneven terrain. As always, very happy with Zappos fast service.

Great fit, no need to break in. I have a lighter weight pair of Merrrells that I have worn for years, and they are finally wearing in the tread. These are a great follow-up. My feet are more on the narrow side, but these in medium still fit, and the lacing allows for a snug fit. I wore them for the first time out yesterday, hiking on a steep and wet trail. My feet were happy! And the great tread resulted in no slipping. Yeah, Merrells! Never will I look for a different brand of hiking shoes.

These shoes replace an older, similar pair I have and are just what I had hoped for! They were comfortable from the start and are roomy in the toe box which helps since I have bunions. The inserts cradle your feet with support and cushiony comfort! I am considering ordering another pair for backup!
