I have worn these shoes every day for about two weeks now, and have had no problems with them. They are quite comfortable and needed no breaking in.

Difficult to find a shoe that comes in wide. Usually have to go for a size up which poses is own problems. These feel great in my correct size. So happy!

These are amazing. On a whim, I bought them to go hiking in Phoenix where I'm currently living and to use on a trip to Hawaii in a few weeks. I've used them 3 times now: twice on mountains in and around Phoenix with minimal rain and once in Sedona, AZ with significant rain, river crossings, and decent amounts of snow too. They are comfortable hiking long distances (did 7 miles in 2 hikes in Sedona) but I feel they're comfortable on concrete i.e walking from a parking lot was uncomfortable until I hit the dirt and then they were perfect. Speaking to the waterproof-ness, my friend and I were hiking in Sedona through muddy trails and crossing one of the smaller rivers six or seven times. She was wearing sneakers. I went across first to find the best exposed rocks for her to jump across on. I happened to look down and realized I was standing in 2-3 inches of rushing frigid water and hadn't noticed at all. No temperature change and obviously no water got in. The water didn't get up to my laces however. I spent the day purposely jumping into puddles and gallivanting through rivers while my friend cautiously watched her steps. (On a side note they cleaned off easily too. I had Sedona red-rock mud all over them and with a wet paper towel and hot running water they came out like new with minimal effort. Once again I didn't try permeating the laces.) These also have amazing grip. I had no problem hiking steep mountain trails; up or down them. I wear an 11 in sneakers and can sometimes wear a 10 in more normal shoes and these fit like a glove; the toe box was a good fit as well, not too small or too bulky. I wore these right out of the box on a 3 mile hike with no problems. Then a 4 mile hike the next day and a 7 mile hike the last day. Only after the 7 mile hike did I notice that the edge of my pinky toes and my heel were ever-so-slightly irritated but no blister or red spots.

I bought these shoes a full size larger than my normal shoes to accommodate thick hiking socks. My feet are quite wide with a narrow heel so I'm always glad when I find a shoe that fits! These were very comfortable right out of the box and provide good support for rigorous day hiking. They are also lightweight, which is great on my knees. While I bought them for wet conditions I haven't really tested that part out yet.

I needed a pair of good walking shoes that are waterproof and these are great. i have wide feet and wear orthotics. These were very roomy and so comfortable that I was able to go out walking with them the same day.

I wear an 8 1/2 shoe and always order up 1/2 size in athletic shoes - when my Merrell Moabs arrived they were too small. Customer service immediately sent another pair in size 9 1/2. They also were too small. Customer service sent another pair in size 10 and they were perfect! I wore them during the huge Portland snow storm last week and even though the streets were mega icey I had pretty good traction and my feet stayed dry.

I love these shoes, I was looking to replace a pair of light hikers and I love the style and the feel of these shoes. They are very sturdy, but don't feel clunky and have great support. I was able to put my own orthotics in them and love the secure feeling of them.

I absolutely LOVE these! They were comfortable right out of the box. They feel sturdy without feeling heavy and they look great on. I look forward to putting many miles on these!

These are so comfortable and have great support! Sturdy but light. I haven't tested the waterproof aspect of them. I love the colors and got the gray and mint. Merrell is the best for hiking shoes!

Tried a bunch of different shoes in this category looking for good support and waterproof and this particular style did the job with flying colors.

I looked so long to find this shoe. I have issues: high instep, narrow heels, fallen arches, wide forefoot, and I can't stand to feel scratchy seams inside a shoe. These fit right out of the box, and I'm guessing the fact that they're waterproof is why there is no protruding tongue seam inside the shoe, it's completely smooth. Ahh! Also, great support, a sturdy sole. In other, lesser quality shoes, I've had to order an EE width to get them wide enough, but these are perfectly wide in just the W width. I bought them in Drizzle/Mint in October and Dusty Olive in December, and I love both. These would probably be a little too warm to wear in July, but they're great in the cooler/colder months for keeping the feet warm and dry. An added bonus for me: much less knee and low back pain since I've been wearing this shoe. Very happy with this purchase, and always pleased with Zappos.

These are great hiking/walking shoes. They are very comfortable, lightweight. and waterproof. I was surprised they fit so well and seem to have an ample toe box, because they really don't look like a big, wide shoe. So far, a great purchase. I had seen them in a local store but actually ordered them from Zappos, related to their Customer Service. No risk.

These are comfortable and light weight. They'll be nice with mid-weight socks for the colder weather too. I haven't yet worn them in wet weather, so I can't speak about whether or not they are as waterproof as advertised. So far, they seem to provide good, comfortable support for walking. I think they're good looking too. At my age, comfortable, well-designed footwear beats cute, foot-unfriendly shoes/boots any day!

Had to size up but once I did these hiking shoes were fabulous! So incredibly comfortable and rigid enough that I will get great support. Thank you. Exactly what I wanted.

The shoe looks great, but the interior seams are rough. The seams should have been clipped or pressed flat. This manufacturing flaw makes for an uncomfortable fit. It would make a hike quite unbearable!

These are terrific shoes! After reading all reviews, I did order 1/2 size larger and my normal wide width and there are perfect. I have always worn New Balance, but the last pair ordered were too small (my normal size), very disappointing. Thank goodness for Zappos.

I usually wear a 7.5 or 8 in active shoes, these are the smallest smidge short. Not unwearable, but would have been wise of me to order an 8.5 The width is a W, and I usually wear a WW, but these are plenty wide enough. I dinged the style only because a more subdued color combo would be more my liking, but these are great shoes and I really enjoy wearing them!

I love these hiking shoes! This is the second pair I've purchased. This time I bought a full size larger so I can wear double socks in the colder weather. They are comfortable, even for full day wearing. I have a neuroma in my left foot and I don't have any issues wearing this shoe.

I really like this shoe. I need waterproof shoes for running dog agility on the wet, dewy grass, and these keep my feet nice and dry. I ordered my ideal size - 8 Wide - and these shoes fit well and have good support. One shoe felt a little narrower than the other at first, but after wearing them a few times, both fit well and have conformed to my feet. They are not clunky like some other brands - they are more on the lightweight side, but sturdy. I've been buying Merrells for years and always come back to them!

I read the reviews and ordered these not know what to expect. One foot has a bunion and I have had a lot of trouble finding shoes that are comfortable to walk any distance in. That said, these are AMAZING right out of the box. I went on a 3 mile walk in the desert yesterday and wore the shoes for 6 hours. They were VERY comfortable! I am so pleased with this purchase! Also I did not find them to be short.

Read the reviews and ordered 1/2 size larger. Fit great. There is lots of toe room and my custom inserts fit great. The more I were them the better they feel. Shoes were here in 2 days. Great job.

I need a wide width and read the reviews before buying. Bought the next size up which was too big. (My foot must run short but just wide). I returned with the no hassle policy and bought my regular size. The shoe width was perfect so the shoe fit perfectly. I don't plan on walking through water - just wet grass- so suppose not being completely waterproof per comments will be an issue. So far I love the shoes and love the olive color too.

I purchased these for hiking in North Carolina this past weekend. These shoes are comfortable and worked well on the long trails. I hike easy to moderate trails and am very happy with these shoes. I wanted waterproof shoes. I did not have steady rain where I hiked, yet I did walk in damp areas on the mountains and my feet stayed dry.

The shoe (width medium) accommodates my fairly wide feet well. The arch support seems a little too far back in the shoe but it doesn't bother my feet, I just notice it. Haven't tested yet if they are waterproof.
