Wonderful shoe. In fact, it is the only shoe I can walk in for hours because I have a neuroma on my right foot. Thanks for making such a great hiking shoe.

Just got these shoes but did try them out already on a three mile hike. They were extremely comfortable and supportive, no blisters or pressure areas! I am very happy with these shoes. This was my first purchase of Merrells and from my experience so far, it won't be my last!

Typical of Merrell sizing; runs slightly more narrow than other brands but comfort can't be beat. Bought size 11; wore for 1st time on a 7 mile mountain hike with just one blister on one small toe. I am sure will improve with age. Color earth/orchid perfect!

True to size. Very light-weight. Bought them for a trip to Big Sur. I broke them in a little bit doing yard work before we went. They were very comfortable and not clunky at all.

I originally ordered a very similar shoe by Keen, since I must have five pairs of Keen sandals, a pair of the canvas sneakers, and love their shoes. However, the shoe was a terrible fit - more than a size small, even though I had already ordered a half size up, and so shallow that it didn't even come up to my ankle. I don't want a high top hiking boot, but I do want something that I'm not constantly stepping out of. I ordered the Moab as a back up when I returned the Keen, and I am so glad that I did. It is an amazingly comfortable and secure feeling shoe. I've only been breaking them in for a week or so, wearing on short (3-5 mile) walks and hikes, deliberately choosing grassy trails on wet mornings to test the waterproofing, and they are nothing short of dry, warm, and secure in the grip. The Q thing is interesting - I can feel that it does change the way that I walk, which I was concerned about as I am doing everything in my power to avoid the total knee replacements that two orthopedics say I need. But my legs feel awesome in these shoes - any pain I have from my knees or from exercise is greatly diminished. The shoes feel a little heavy, but that seems a given for the style and waterproof feature. Highly recommend.

These are great shoes for hiking, very comfortable. Take your normal running shoe size and deduct a half size. I usually wear a 10 running shoe, these are 9.5 and they fit perfect.

I bought these for this winter. I did wear them once to check out the fit and comfort level just in case I needed to return them. I wore them all day and felt good the whole day. Since everyone said they ran small for thick socks I went ahead and ordered a half size larger. The day I wore them my feet probably had too much wiggle room but I didn't wear the thick socks as I plan to wear with them once winter hits. The shoes are made well and do seem to be waterproof as I tested near a stream.

I decided I needed a lightweight pair of hiking boots a week before my trip to Switzerland. I bought these and they were immediately comfortable after I fiddled with the lacing a bit and figured out which socks were best. A week later I was hiking in the Alps, wading through streams and tromping up and down hills and my feet stayed dry, comfy and happy. These are fantastic boots - buy 'em! Do order up a half size. I bought two pair and kept the larger one - the smaller size would have been too tight in the toe on downhill slopes.

The best hiking shoe ever! They made my Alaskan trip even better. Kept my feet dry and protected. I normally wear 7.5 or 8 in running shoes. I bought 8 and they fit great!

I hiked in the Rocky Mountains with this shoe. They were great protection on rocky surfaces, and stabalized my foot well. I wear a size 7 in sandals, and a 7 1/2 in lace-up shoes. I went up to an 8 in this shoe to allow more toe room, but I wish I had gone up to an 8 1/2. Hiking downhill with thick socks made the toes a little tight. This shoe is a little heavy (compared to my trail running shoes), but great protection...and they proved to be waterproof, when walking in a stream.

I purchased these shoes for a trip to Alaska. I wore them for a couple of weeks prior to leaving to make sure they were comfortable. These shoes were comfortable from the first time I put them on! I always have great success with Merrell products.

The main things I was looking for in this shoe were comfort and water-proofness and I got both. Yeah! We have hiking trails cut into our property and I always have had to wait for the dew to dry up or get completely soaked walking the grass trails. Today, right out of the box, I put these shoes on and gave them the ultimate test. I walked exactly one mile and felt no rubbing or tightness anywhere, and after I came in my socks and toes and the inside of the shoe were completely dry! We have a winner here! I thank you, my butt thanks you, and my doggies thank you for getting us out there for some lovely morning walks! There is not as much arch support as I was expecting, but the shoes are very sturdy and well cushioned. I imagine after a time my foot will create its own support in the shoe's footbed. I love Merrell shoes. They last forever and are worth every penny.

Love these shoes! Super comfortable from the get-go! Wore on a 5 mile hike the first time I used them and felt so good at the end that I didn't want to take them off.

Please don't order these shoes -- save them for me. Just kidding -- best hiker ever. I put these on right out of the box and didn't want to take them off. The next day I went for a week to hike around the rocky beaches and forests of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and these shoes were perfect. Lots of cushy support, great toe box room, sturdy but lightweight sole. I've learned after trial and error to order a full size up with Merrell. Now I don't regret it one bit. I will be wearing these for hikes almost year-round (except, perhaps, for the deep snows of winter). Fun orchid detail almost makes you feel like a girl. Also, Zappos rocks with next day delivery. I ordered them at the last minute and got them in enough time for my trip. Love!

Just received these, and they are great! I am 8.5, ordered 8.5, PERFECT FIT! If I said comfortable, it would be an understatement. Only drawback is they are a little warm for 91 degree day. But they have an antimicrobial barrier and waterproof.

The Merrell Moab Waterproof hiking shoes are so comfortable. I had to take half a size larger than my normal size to get the right fit. The waterproof version seems a little snugger than the non waterproof Merrell Moab Ventilator, but I ended up taking the same size in both types. The toe box on these shoes is great. It is wide enough for my problem feet with bunions, arthritis, and all but they fit around the heel! I have wide forefeet and narrow heels and have ordered and returned numerous pairs of Keens and other brands in preparation for an upcoming trip and the Merrells are the first pair that were wide enough in front and narrow enough in the heel. I went back and forth on the color and liked both of them, but I ended up with the Earth/Orchid because I think the color is more striking than the dusty olive with blue accents (and I like the orchid accents better). I like the women specific insoles that Merrell has so far these shoes seem supportive. I have been wearing these around the house and they felt great right out of the box. I am looking forward to wearing them on my trip. I do not think that you can go wrong with these shoes.

These truly are comfortable right out of the box. I bought them just days before a camping and hiking adventure. Used them on a 7 mile hike without breaking them in and my feet never saw a blister! I wanted a waterproof shoe, and while I didn't stick my feet right in the stream, it did keep them dry while I was navigating wet rocks. I'm pleased with these shoes!

This is my second pair of Merrell hikers. I was so impressed with the first pair, (an XCR with Gore-Tex), that when they wore out after two years of good use, I had to get another pair! Like the first pair they are comfortable right when you put them on and I knew they were broken in after a few errands around town. For short or day hikes they would be fine right out of the box. They run true to size, too. I only wish the tread was a bit more aggressive on this pair like the XCR, but they are fine for my needs.

It's absolutely, positively the best hiking shoes I've ever had. After the purchase, we went to Alaska. We did a lot of difficult hiking trails, suspension bridges and so on. I had no discomfort what so ever, good temperature control and good protection from the water. Highly recommend.

These shoes were very comfortable. I have a wide foot and the were not too tight. The size is accurate. I wore them on a moderate hike and they had great traction. Great arch and ankle support (not too high to rub on the ankles).

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Just like others said: right out of the box comfort. No wearing in. No rubbing. Nothing but perfectly fitting and comfortable. I'm shocked but very very happy with these! In short, the majority reviews are 100% correct about this shoe. And, as always, Zappos service is unbelievable. Overnighted (vip). I click, and the doorbell rings and there is the Zappos box. How the heck do you guys do that? You're scary-good. You are. And your iPad app is excellent! Ok I'm out of exclamation points.
