As a person with a lot of mobile disabilities, I would like to say that these are the most comfortable and non-restraining athletic shoes that I have been able to wear in years. I almost gave up, but Zappos is my place for shoes, and again, I am a totally satisfied customer. If ever I may need an adjustment, it may be to get a good heel guard with a little bit more arch, but I have had these shoes for a couple of months and I don't feel a need for them as of now. That need may come as I build my way up to walking further and further. I love them and can't wait to have enough money to buy the next color! Thank you!

I really do like these shoes after I get them on. It's getting them on that's the problem. The tongue is attached in such a way that it doesn't lift up hardly at all, making it nearly impossible to get my foot in, totally impossible without using a shoehorn. Why on earth were they designed this way? I can see no possible reason for it. Once on, they are super comfortable and very light, so I will keep them, tho' it does seem absurd to need a shoehorn to put on a pair of sneakers.

Size was great but width was very narrow given I have a high instep. Have ordered wide as I definitely like the shoe. Hope it works!

Overall satisfied with the shoes.
The lacing was causing some pressure points, but I was able to relieve that with a bit of inventive lacing.
The only complaint I have is that the stretchy fabric in the back of the heel rubs my skin. I have trouble finding good shoes because I have thin delicate skin on my feet.
I wear Injinji toe socks with these and even with the sock as a barrier it chafes. The shoe feels great otherwise.
I'd recommend this shoe to those who have thicker skin.

These shoes are specifically designed to be "barefoot" minimalist running shoes. That means no extra padding between you & the ground - no unnatural arch pad, no raised heel. Please do some research on Merrell's website about barefoot running before purchasing these shoes. They are not designed to be awkwardly padded gym shoes associated with mainstream running! I normally wear an 8.5 (flats) or a 9 (boots). The 9's were way too big - my foot shifted around all over the place. There was so much room in the heel that rocks could get inside - what good does that do for a trail running shoe?! The 8.5 was almost perfect - it hugged my foot like a glove & was extremely comfortable...except for the toe. My second toe is longer than the first, & I always need a lot of toe room in my shoes so they can spread (I generally only wear minimalist styles). My second toe rubbed the end of this shoe, which just wasn't going to cut it for running. I would definitely recommend ordering 2 pairs - your normal size, & a half size different - to be sure you get the right fit. Zappos returns are perfect for sending back the ones that don't work. The soles on these are amazing. Amazing. They grip everything. The lining is nice & smooth - very easy to wear these barefoot as designed. Consider ordering a half size larger if you plan on wearing socks. The style is cute & minimal, though Zappos needs to carry more colors. They can be slightly difficult to pull on & off - definitely not slip on shoes. Loosen the laces & wiggle in. If they slide on very easily, they are too big! Once again, these shoes are not padded. The arch hugs your foot perfectly so it can move in a natural fashion - that is exactly the right amount of arch support. If you are used to stuffing thick padding under your arches, these are not the shoes for you. In the end, I returned these due to the fit being slightly off, & purchased the Merrell Dash Glove instead. The fit was just different enough to fit my toes comfortably, the sole is slightly thicker (for running on pavement), but the vibram sole is wonderfully grooved & grippy (for running on trails).

This shoes are best for very narrow and low instep feet. It was hard to put it on because the shoelace holes do not stretch and are too short.

Extremely light and very comfortable. You hardly know you're wearing shoes. Only complaint is that they can slide on a wet surface like tile.

These shoes are awesome. Super comfortable and perfect for walking and the gym. Order a half size up though. I have two pairs and ordered the first in my usual size and they were a bit short in the toes. I can still wear them, but not for longer hikes. I have wide-ish feet and these fit great.

This shoes are adorable, light and comfortable. But they run small. As much as I love these shoes in every other way, I'll probably have to send them back or find blisters on my toes. And there's just a minor design flaw: who needs laces that reach to your knees? What am supposed to do with those? Elastic bands would have done the job without ruining the sleek look of this otherwise fun shoe.

I am a five finger wearer but they are time consuming to get on (especially if you need to wear socks). I bought these for quick walks around the neighborhood and love them. While not as "barefoot" as five fingers, they are flat with no arch and leave nice toe box room for my bunions. Buy a half size up.

I bought these to run in but they run a little small so even though I normally wear an 8-8.5, but my toes were really cramped when I tried to run in the 8.5 so they are simply gym shoes now. Very good looking and comfortable otherwise.

I read the reviews about these running small. I thought, well maybe those people were wearing socks and I figured these were meant to be worn without socks. Even without socks, these run 1/2 size small. Otherwise, they are nice for the fact that you do get to feel closer to the earth. It's a refreshing change for those of us that like that.

I really wanted to love this shoe - the color was great and they generally felt comfortable. Unfortunately, the elasticized part that crosses the Achilles was giving me blisters just from wearing the shoes around the house, so I returned them.

This is my first minimal/barefoot style shoe, so I don't have any direct comparisons to make. I love how light it is and how it conforms to my foot; the first time I put it on I literally thought "Wow, this fits like a glove" and then remembered it has "glove" in the name. I chose this shoe initially because I have several Merrell products and have always been happy with them. This shoe continues that trend, and I'm glad I chose it.

Fantastic shoes! This little tennie is very comfortable, light-weight and works well as a run-about! I have very poor feet and these act to comfort them during the daily walking!

Interesting looking shoe. On me it's very roomy through the toe and slim through the instep. The tongue/lace construction keeps top from opening wide. A bit of elastic in the lace-holder fabric would help. Overall, this is comfortable for me. Note that they slip when wet and are airy - not winter shoes in a cold climate.

When I pulled out the shoe and tried it on, I was initially disappointed. It was so loud! After putting the shoe back in the box to return, I had a change of heart (it's so cute!) and tried it on again. After scuffing the bottom a bit and having a short run on concrete, it was no longer squeaking! I have to say that since then, I rarely take this shoe off. It is a barefoot shoe, so keep in mind there to minimal to no support. I usually wear a size 8.5, but because of the style of shoe, I went up a size as I do with all my active foot wear. This shoe runs true to size. Great purchase!

You definitely want to be ready for forefoot or mid foot strike running, as these provide no cushioning typical to athletic shoes. But, they're comfortable and do fit like gloves. The orange (lychee) will turn a lot of heads, if that's your thing. While many recommend no socks, I still find them necessary.

With 'barefoot' in name I was expecting a barefoot shoe. What I got was a shoe with lots of built up support that immediately put my feet into stress. On my first run I actually took off the shoes and completed the run sans shoes. I briefly considered continuing the run to 'break in my feet' but immediately discounted that. I have been very happy running in the Pure Glove so I was a bit shocked by how uncomfortable these shoes are. I would go back to the Pure Glove but I can't seem to find a pair in my size anymore -- size 6 women's.

The shoe is very good looking and mostly comfortable, but I had to buy a wide width. The wide felt like a medium. I had to return because there is elastic across the instep. I have high insteps and it hurt. There is no way to loosen the elastic. Too bad!

I didn't realize that these shoes are basically slip-on. If you take the laces out, it's pretty difficult to thread them back in with your foot in the shoe. So they're to be slipped on. I should have got a 1/2 size larger but I really like these shoes and they have great arch support. I would get another pair but get a 1/2 size larger.

I researched a few different barefoot shoes before purchasing these. I went with these over the Vivobarefoot Breatho Trail, which was extremely comfortable, but a little bit bulkier than the Merrells and had a weird knobby non-Vibram sole. For the record, I also own Vibram Five Fingers. I have become frustrated with the VFFs...they take so long to put on with my fat toes. Also, aside from the fact that they are so ugly, the soles are extremely thin. While trail running and hiking, you can feel every sharp rock, etc. The Merrells were comfortable to my hard-to-fit feet (wide forefoot, narrow heel, high arch and high instep) right out of the box, and actually got more comfortable on a hike as my feet warmed up and sweated a little. As other reviewers have mentioned, they get more comfortable and conform to your foot the more you wear them. I bought these mainly for hiking and walking, but I am excited to try running in them...they make you want to run in them because they are so light and airy. I ordered a 7.5 and a 7 wide and ended up keeping the 7s. I did not find them short as others have mentioned. I did try the regular width on in the store (as my feet aren't freakishly wide), but it wasn't nearly as comfortable and could not accommodate my high instep. The Merrells are also super cute and look great on. My only issues with them are minor...they seem as though they may wear out fast with daily use, and I fear they may get a little stinky, but otherwise I love them!

The footbed on the Merrell Barefoot Pace Glove (wide width) was narrower than the Vivobarefoot Breatho Trail L, especially at the arch, and I felt like I was walking on the seams in the arch in the Merrell (I pronate). The Pace Glove also has an elastic inset that forms part of the back of the shoe, and it hit me in an area that has bursitis. It was n[t painful but I was not sure that it was a good long-term choice. The men's Merrell Road Glove may be a good choice if you do not care for the elastic back.

These shoes are awesome, they are so lightweight I can wear them all day and not feeling like I've got clogs on my feet. This is especially important for my fibromyalgia, they help my foot pain immensely. My only issue is when I first started wearing them, they felt like I was leaning my feet in toward the arches -- don't know if that was something in my stance that was wrong or just how the shoe is. I do love how they don't invite comment like the Vibrams do (although I still love those as well).
