I have only had these shoes for two days, but I already know that they are going to be my new favorites. I used them for my Insanity workout with lots of jumps and kicks yesterday, and I was blown away at how light my feet felt without any lack of support! I have been using Nike Lunar Lite/Lunar Glides over the past couple of years, and even those light shoes feel heavy in comparison. Today I did a cardio and strength class at my gym that involved running, jumping, squats, etc. and they did not disappoint. I am looking forward to taking them on the road for a four mile run next. I have pretty flat feet and mild bunions, and these fit me great. I always order my athletic shoes half size up from my heels/flats, and I did that with these shoes as well. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great barefoot shoe - good sole for protection from rocks with the feeling of wearing nothing at all. My feet get hot quickly in these so I wear thin moisture wicking socks underneath.

I have been running long distances in relatively minimalist shoes for a couple of years, so it was easier for me to adjust to the barefoot style than I think it would be for most people. These felt a little snug across the top of my foot at first, but have relaxed a bit with wear. Little to no padding or arch support. Would recommend only for walking/gym, or to serious minimalist runners.

They are good for the trail but not as great for me for the road. I plan on buying some shoes for the road to use in partnership with these guys for off road. I have to tie them loose, as they tend to cut off circulation a bit on the top of my foot.

Great looking shoe, but too short. Got it in size 9 which is my size, so was surprized. Comfortable in every other way.

I've got EEE width feet with toes being the widest part of my foot. Bought the wide version of these for zumba because I read they had toe room and they do! 'Ring finger toe' still rubs a little, but I haven't tried them with socks. Why? Because I love the 'barefoot' feeling! I also love the lightness and flexibility. Pretty happy with these even though they're not the best dance shoe (makes sense, they're not dance shoes -- too grippy). Also have trouble with high back and achilles and these are better than most shoes, but the elastic is a little tighter than I'd like. I'm buying 7s lately, returned the 7 for a 6.5 and am wondering if a 6 might have been better.

I have plantar fasciitis and Merrell Barefoot shoes have resolved that issue. I've been wearing their Barefoots for 2 months without issue. These were the latest pair so worn the least so far. I use them for walking and cycling an love them. However in Merrell's other Barefoot shoes I wear regular width but with these I couldn't even get my foot in and had to return them for a wide. Now I have a fairly wide foot and depending on style I am sometimes reg and sometimes wide, but was more surprised at the sizable difference between these and some of their other barefoot styles.

I want to love this shoe. It's good-looking, and I can see how it might be very comfortable if it were half a size larger. Unfortunately, I already bought the largest size available, so I will have to return instead of exchange. Also, it is not obvious from the photo because they have hidden the laces, but this is shoe has tie laces and is not just a slip-on.

I bought these for weight-lifting and body weight interval training. Other than an initial few weeks of adjustment (all the tiny muscles in my calves and shins were learning to work differently, and the bottoms of my feed needed to get used to impact with less cushioning), I love these shoes. I feel more in contact with the ground, and I can move with better form. I tried the no sock thing for a bit, but ultimately the sweat factor grossed me out and I switched to socks. I'm not even a sweaty person, really...but still. Also, these are super cute. I get compliments all the time. Two negatives: 1) A few threads have started to pop loose. They don't seem structural, but when I pay this much for a shoe I want it to hold up! 2) Certain ankle socks...the really teeny tiny ones that are practically invisible...can cause some irritation at the achilles. Not the case with all socks.

I purchased these shoes hoping for a comfortable light-weight sneaker to take on vacation. While these were comfortable, they definitely felt like a shoes for running/athletics and not for sight-seeing. The heel cup is lower than the forefoot giving them a bit of an odd stance for basic walking.

I love these shoes. I am barefoot most of the time so adjusting to them was easy for me. Run a little small so go up 1/2 a size. I have a wide foot but these fit fine. Only wish I could open the instep up more as I have a high instep. They were tight at first but fit OK now. I use them for everyday wear and walking, no running for me as I have knee problems.

Really love these shoes! (My first barefoots) Extremely comfortable, lightweight and good looking. I have a wide foot and was surprised to find that although they look narrow, there is a considerable amount of room in these. I recently wore them all day at a theme park with no discomfort. They didn't chafe my foot even when wet. The only negative: I think that the seam on the front may be separating a little, some glue will fix it eventually but I expect more at this price.

Very nice, lightweight, good looking shoes! Sole is a bit on the thin side and heel is low, so not the best shoe for plantar fasciitis (which I have) but otherwise, a great shoe!

For some reason, the other pair I have in a different color fit better. These feel a bit smaller in the toe box. Still, I like the feel of a minimalist shoe; and Merrell does a great job at providing nice looking ones at that. I give it 4 stars only because of the difference in fit from pair to pair. Color seems duller in real life vs. picture. Try the Contour Glove or Pure Glove, too.

Love these shoes but they don't run as big as the critics would otherwise have you believe. I should not have ordered up a size.

I wanted a "minimalist" shoe that I could use during my Cross Fit workouts and this shoe definitely fits the bill! It is very light weight and comfortable, yet sturdy enough to stand up to running (short distances 200-800m), agility drills, jumping rope, and box jumps. I don't think I'd recommend using them for running distance longer than 800m- 1 mile, unless you are used to minimalist footwear for this purpose.

I really like these shoes, but I had trouble with the fit. I ordered one-half size larger than my normal shoe size. I thought they would be fine. However, after wearing them once, I realized that my middle toes were hitting the end of the shoe when I walked. I cannot wear them again. The toe of the shoe is cut at more of an angle than other shoes, so your fours toes better be a lot shorter than your big toe. Someone else complained about this same problem; I should have listened! If I ordered another one-half size larger, I think the shoe would be too big. I had not problem getting used to the barefoot style.

I run about 10 miles a week, on road and treadmill. I run in these almost exclusively. I ordered .5 larger than my usual size and they fit well. I love the fit and the look. However, no relationship is perfect. I have had these for 4 months and the rubber sole is beginning to separate from the upper, at the toe on both shoes. As these are still newer shoes, I am disappointed.

Extremely comfortable from the very first time I put the shoes on. Lightweight and flexible for walking, hiking and running. First pair I bought developed a tear the second day I wore them as fabric was poorly sewn at the toe. This is a replacement pair and I hope these last a normal amount of time or I will be upset. My previous Nike Free lasted a year and if Merrell's don't wear well, I'll go back to Nike.

These shoes look great and are very comfortable, although I have not walked a great distance in them. Good ventilation. Excellent quality but a bit pricey.

I have to thank Zappos for getting me these shoes so quickly -- they came the next day! The style is cute and fit feels true to size. It's light and feels comfortable for the most part. However, I wore them for the first time today, for a half mile walk, and both of my back heel started to get blisters. The rippled back portion of the shoe initially seemed like a good addition, but I think this is what's causing the blisters. I really hope this problem goes away since I love everything else about the shoes. No blistering in the toe area or balls of feet. If you're wearing these for the first time, I recommend carrying some bandaids with you in case you develop the same blisters as I did.

The jury is out so far. Just got these shoes today. Color is great. Ordered 1/2 size up. Length is good. Toe box is good. I have wide feet and these make my feet feel squished. Plan to keep them and test them at the gym, etc. I wonder if I should have ordered a whole size up, but I have already snipped the tags and tested them on the sidewalk.

A friend recommended these shoes to me. I purchased them because I was having hip pains during running and I had heard good reviews about barefoot shoes. I am normally a a size 5½ or 6. I ordered these in a 5½ and they fit perfectly (if worn how they are meant to be worn, without socks). They were extremely comfortable but after running in them I got blisters on both my big toes. I tried to work through it but it got worse. They did improve my posture and running and my joint pain started to go away. I plan on buying another pair in a size 6 this time, so I can wear socks with them. The 5½ are too tight with socks on.
