Not enough room in toebox for a barefoot shoe. I do not have wide feet, but my toes can't splay out in these shoes like they should. Also, they cut in to my ankle bones unless I wear socks. The laces tend to come untied unless double-knotted. They're okay for kicking around, chasing after the kids, maybe working out at the gym, but not comfortable for long runs. They are very cute, and I like the sole, but I'll be shopping for a different shoe when it's time to replace these.

Nice looking shoe. Strange feeling in the arch area. I have other Merrells and none fit as this one did. It ran a little short and I don't feel comfortable. Would prefer a little more length.

I wanted to wear this shoe...I love Merrells and wanted to try the minimalist shoe trend. But I just could not get them to fit. The 8 was way too big even with thick socks. The 7.5 was too short for my right foot. (I have that second toe longer than first toe problem which really throws off the sizing of this shoe.) With this type of shoe, good sizing is so important because the shoe is supposed to follow the contours of your foot. So, no Pace Glove for me!

This shoe is cute except for the fact that the toes curl up and the fabric would look like it's pulling at the top of the shoe. Therefore, it's not really a barefoot shoe since my toes don't touch the ground when standing. I am returning them.

Right out of the box, I loved the look of the Barefoot Pace Glove (I got the red version). It is super lightweight, breathable and flexible; but doesn't work if you are a wide. I'm a 8.5W and was able to get into the 9M, but the tongue wasn't wide enough to cover the top of my foot; you could see skin on both sides of the tongue. Merrell, you're a major player in the outdoor category, please make wide widths across your product line already! I was hoping to wear this for fitness, weekends, and on an upcoming summer trip, but will stick with my Privos.

Runs very small. I couldn't get it on my foot and I was able to fit another slim shoe in my regular size that reportedly run small on my feet without issue. I've been very satisfied with Merrells in the past.

I'm curious about trying "barefoot" shoes, and did find this fairly comfortable, except my toes were squished. Thought they needed a wider toe box.

Bought these for a trip where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. On the plus side, very lightweight shoe that does a decent job of keeping feet dry. Overall however, NOT a comfortable shoe after 2 weeks of logging many miles, still needed to put band aids on back of heels. And for some reason, whenever I wore them and my ankles would well by end of day. did not happen with other shoes brought on trip. Expensive lesson learned and would NOT buy again.

Need to order a half size up from normal size, because there are seaming and construction bumps close to the toe and if your foot comes anywhere close, you will feel them. Also, if you have to open a shoe wide to get into them, the closure design of this shoe is extremely restrictive and only allows a narrow foot inside. It looks like it opens like it should, but everything is sewn down.

I ordered this a half size bigger than what I usually wear in a Merrell and it was too short, so I ordered it in an 11. The length was right in the 11 but the arch was in thee wrong place. Very disappointed in this shoe.

I had a very hard time getting the shoes on. Once I did get them on they felt good. Is this normal? Do they make these in wide?

I loved these shoes. I had to buy a 1/2 size larger (9 instead of my usual 8.5), but that fit well. The problem is that barefoot running really does require good form. One day, I pushed myself and ran as long as I could go, with a drop in my form. This caused me to experience an "upper ankle" sprain that took three months to heal, with extreme pain, swelling, and months of pain with each step. Pay close attention if you choose to try barefoot running. I really did like it, but it wasn't worth the injury.

Wanted to love this shoe. I'm all for minimalist/barefoot shoes, but these did not work for me. Cons: Fabric is not breathable, fabric is scratchy and rubs baby toes, cannot wear sockless. Some pros: Rubber sole is high quality, wider toe box for wiggle room, good arch support for high arches and narrow feet.

The first time I washed my shoes they shrunk! I used cold water and air dried them. Now my toes feel like they're going to pop out the end of the shoe. I am very disappointed, I will look for a brand with more longevity next time.

I love everything about these shoes, except for one huge factor: they've really injured my Achilles tendons. I tried the shoes on the first time and was in heaven. So comfortable and lightweight, they really do make you feel like you are barefoot. I didn't use them so much for running, but just as casual walking about shoes, and also to have something really light to wear while biking. The problem is that there is elastic that wraps around the back of the shoe and really squeezes the back of your foot above the heel. This is great for the snug fit, but for me, after wearing them for even a short amount of time, my tendon gets very achy and stiff after I've taken the shoes off. It is downright painful after a night's sleep and trying to walk down stairs. I tried to bear with the pain, hoping my feet would get used to them. I am to the point where I regret wearing them each time I do. It takes about 4-5 days before the pain goes away. I'm usually a perfect 8 (sometimes I can fit into a 7 1/2), and an 8 is what I purchased. I wonder now if I should have gone a 1/2 size up...? I wouldn't want to lose the snug fit though, they really do feel nice while on. So disappointed that I'll probably have to get rid of these.

Very comfortable, I wear them for all my workouts and i love them. Downside is I've have them for about a month and the right shoe is already falling apart at the seams. Disappointed.

If you have a high instep, this is not the shoe for you. The lacing system does not allow for expansion. I am going to try the Merrell Barefoot Access Arc.

The new model is awful. I used to love the pace glove shoe. I have gone through 3 pairs, but now they are too narrow and terribly padded. It doesn't feel like a barefoot shoe anymore. Specifically the toe box got way too narrow and my toes cant move without getting a size too big. I hope the next model fixes that.

A great looking shoe, but what I liked best was that it reminded me of the cheap canvas track shoes I used to practice in some 40 years ago, the black ones with the little white stripes on the sides. Something about those shoes made me feel like running. (Being 16 just made it easier.) Had a lot to do with the light weight and shape of the shoe. Enter Merrell and their Women's Barefoot Pace Glove Running Sneaker. Someone else mentioned this in a review, and I didn't understand how relevant it was until I tried them on: The part of the shoe that the laces run through--looks like ribbon--is sewn to the shoe. That means the ribbon-looking thing at the widest point (closest to the ankle) is also sewn to the shoe. That means the tongue will only go so high. If you have high arches like I do, you'll struggle to get the shoe on. Getting your foot in the shoe won't help the fact that the top of the foot of a high-arched person feels strangled by the unyielding ribbon doohickey. I love the look and weight of the shoe. If they laced like most tennis shoes, I'd love the design. However, if you have high arches, you might want to keep looking. Also, I normally wear a 9-1/2M. That's the size I ordered. My toes were at the end of the shoe.

I bought these shoes to take on a trip to the north of India. I was looking for something to go fitness walking in during the mornings and to wear in lieu of big, bulky athletic shoes during the day. Let me say that I have never, ever had any foot issues and that I am a moderately active 43-year-old woman. After four mornings of walking in these shoes for thirty minutes each session, I had plantar fasciitis in my right foot. Again, I never had foot issues in the past and I only went walking, not running, in the shoes four times. That was seven months ago and I am still suffering from plantar fasciitis. The podiatrist was not surprised when I told him what had happened and said that the shoes come with that risk. Obviously, by the overwhelming number of positive ratings, people like these shoes. I did too -- until four days later I got plantar fasciitis.

This Merrell runs very small. I have various styles of Merrell shoes and size 8 always fits me. This one is not true to size.

I ordered these shoes in the color, Lychee size 8 1/2. When I got them, they were a 1/2 size too small so I had to return them. I was hoping to exchange for a size 9 but could not because they were sold out. I also should mention that they were on sale and so was another greenish colored one. I reviewed store credit therefore I wanted to get an equal exchange. Unfortunately, I could not and I'm a little disappointed because I was really looking forward to these shoes but they are all full price!

I do not like these shoes. I ordered a half-size larger, 7. 5, and they were far too long. I replaced them with my usual size 7, and they seemed fine while walking around the house. Once I began walking outside, my foot began slipping forward, no matter how strongly I tied them. I don't think you can know how well these shoes fit until you've actually used them under actual conditions, but then it is too late to send them back. I really feel I wasted a great deal of money.
