All my hiking boots are Merrell. All my running shoes are New Balance. I liked the New Balance Minimus, which were the first "barefoot" running shoe I tried. They had a roomy toe box that accommodated my bunion and were comfortable with and without socks. However, the upper started to shred after about 6 months. I was hopeful when I saw these barefoot running shoes from Merrell, but I knew they were perfect from the minute I put them on. I have a narrow foot and a high arch. I can just feel the arch support, which I appreciate. The shoes are wide enough so that I can wear socks, but are not too wide if I choose not to. The elastic strip at the heel hugs my narrow heel without rubbing. I bought one half size up as suggested by many reviewers, and it is the perfect length. Just finished a 4 mile run in these shoes and, as far as I can tell, there is no break in period - comfortable from minute one. Oh, they look good too.

I love my barefoot glove. I wear them wading through tide pools and walking to the grocery store. They're cute as a casual shoe with capris. And they're every so light to tuck into a suitcase, so you're prepared for any walking contingency. I just wish I had been bolder and bought them in a fun color.

Love them! The wide width is a perfect fit for me, lots of room for my toes. And I like having the laces so I can tighten up the top as much as I need. Great for the warm weather when I want to take a long walk and need a substantial shoe, but don't want the extra layer of socks. Very comfortable with bare feet.

I love these shoes more than actually being barefoot! More protection for the tootsies and very comfy without bulk. I tried my regular size but wound up getting them 1/2 size smaller due to not wearing socks. I love Merrel shoes and I love shopping at Zappos their customer service can't be beat.

I absolutely love these! They are so cute and comfortable. I wear them running errands. On the elliptical, doing errands. They are ridiculously comfortable. I want more in different colors!

These shoes are the berries! I had to do a few returns to get the size I need (they run a bit narrow and small) but oh they are worth it. I have never worn a shoe so light and conformed to my foot shape. I am generally a total klutz, but feel incredibly sure-footed in these shoes that give support and protection but still allow me to feel where my foot is stepping on the rocks, roots and ground. I liked these shoes so much, I bought my husband a pair and he loves them, too.

Took a while to get used to but now I have a hard time wearing regular sneakers...these kinda feel like you are getting a foot massage every time you walk, and other shoes now feel hard on the bottom. Great shoes, but you'll definitely notice a difference when you put on a pair of regular shoes. I do recommend going half size larger than your normal size, I had to return for a size larger.

These are my second pair of these shoes. I have the 5 toes and while these have the same feel, they do have a bit more sole for more bottom protection. These are great for running or walking...I even use them for sand running. Perfect shoes and work for just running around town. Size was true.

I love this shoe. When I got back on a treadmill for the first time in years, I was in an old pair of traditional, clunky sneakers. My first thought was, "Need new shoes." I had heard about the barefoot style and my sister recommended them. This pair was on sale, so I decided to start with them. I could always return if unsatisfied. But they are not going back. I love these shoes. They are so much more comfortable, especially for running. When I got going, I felt like I could run for days. So big thumbs up. I would prefer some other color combinations, but since they're just for running, I can live with it. I saw a few reviews complaining about support. This is a barefoot shoe. It has no support. It's not supposed to. And that is one reason I wanted to try it. I prefer to go barefoot (socks in winter). I only put on shoes when I go outside, and even then, it's usually Birkenstocks. I hate sneakers and closed, tight shoes. My Birkenstocks are as close as I can get to feeling barefoot in a shoe, and giving my feet some protection. This Merrell shoe is the sneaker equivalent of that - as close as you can get to feeling barefoot while wearing a full sneaker.

This shoe is fun to wear...feels a little different but is very comfortable. I inherited my Mom's feet which means I sometimes want to give up on finding comfortable shoes. I have a bunion on one foot etc. These shoes do not hurt at all and I ordered my usual size 9. I even felt some arch support despite the "barefoot" concept.

Easy to order, arrived oh so promptly, exactly what I ordered, and at a fabulous price. Ordered as a gift and was not the least bit anxious about returning if it wasn't the right size. My sister LOVED the shoes! I have a pair, I bought my sister a pair, and now our mother wants a pair. Lightweight and VERY comfortable!

This is not like any pair of shoes. They are unique in style and comfort. It is like being on your barefoot literally, except that more protected and comfortable. If being on your barefoot is a feeling that you like go for this shoes. Last, if you have not worn this type of shoes before and planning to wear them for running, you would need to read the instructions for use first. Once you get used to the style you wish all your shoes to be like it.

Love these. Minimalist running saved my knee! I can run forever in these. They seemed wide when I first wore them, but they no longer seem that way. There is an adjustment period to going minimalist, so take it in stride! I did not believe at first that this running style would work for me, but I am glad I was wrong, and that I listened to friends who went minimal--some with other brands/styles, which I nixxed. I like the Merrell style for minimal running. This is my second pair of Merrell Barefoot shoes, and they are great.

Great shoes! I've worn them on the beach and on the roads and in the gym. I've abandoned my traditional sneakers. I am able to feel my feet now and I have more toe room and can spread the toes. I usually wear 8, 8 and a half but needed to go up to a 9 as my second toe is longer than the big toe. I walk briskly in them, 3 miles a day.

Liked the look and feel of this lightweight shoe...however, they must run a tad small. My toe was at the end of a ladies size 11 - I usually wear a size 11.

Great shoes. And I'm glad I ordered my regular shoe size. Had a problem with the right shoe definitely smaller than the left. You can see the difference when you compare the shoes.

Great minimalist running shoe. Your feet may be a little sore at first as you adjust to the shoe type. The soreness goes away quickly and your feet and legs will feel stronger. When I wore these without socks, the shoe rubbed my foot initially causing a small blister. I have not had any blisters since the initial blister.

I like these shoes so much that I just received my second pair. I am not a runner. I use these shoes for regular daily use and love them. Varicose veins usually cause my legs to feel very tired toward the end of the day but my legs feel so much better when I wear these shoes. With the close glove fit, they are a little difficult to get on, however, once they are on they are so very comfortable.

One of the most comfortable, versatile and best looking shoes I have ever owned. I use them for walking and running. I am ready to purchase a second pair!

These are a great minimalist shoe. They seem to run a little small. I'm an 11 and unfortunately that's as big as they come. I dealt with it by wearing thin, or no, socks. They have no arch support, but the way they are made they conform to your foot. I'm on my feet all day and these have been the only shoes that i'm not dying to peel off my feet at the end of the day.

Bought these for my friend who had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year, and thus gave away most of her shoes because they hurt feet and back so much now. She never takes these shoes off now because they are so comfortable. She was also able to take a trip out of the country where she was able to wear them everyday and walk for miles. These are great shoes for folks suffering from fibromyalgia.

I tried the 7.5 and 8. 7.5 was too narrow and the 8 too long. So for the last few years I never bothered with buying a pair. Then I realized they had a WIDE option so I went for the 7.5 wide. Perfect fit. The only other shoe I've ever bought a wide in was a Chaco sandal. It seems most Merrells are too narrow for me so I was happy to see they made a wide in this shoe. I purchased them for hiking and walking which they are excellent for. I am a runner but have yet to in these. I am into natural running but not into barefoot (no cushioning) running but if you are these are the way to go. I decided to review these because I noticed there are not many reviews on the wide width.

Love these! I call them my 'ninja' shoes. Very light weight, great support, and yet somehow feels like I'm barely wearing anything. What a great shoe! I did have to order these in wide as I found the medium to be quite narrow.

BEST SNEAKER EVER!!! I hope they make these sneakers for a long time because I plan on buying more. They are an amazingly comfortable shoe and feel very close to going barefoot. My feet feel great in these even after walking and standing all day. Lots of compliments on the style (I have them in turquoise).

I'm a fan. Funny..as you get older, you don't have as much patience for your feet hurting! When I saw the lilac color were on sale, it was enough motivation to give them a try. I ordered 8.5W (fat little feet that I have) and I LOVE them. Like other reviews, they fit for barefoot or thin socks, but if you want to wear anything more, order a half size up. I've worn mine a couple times and there is no need for break-in. I also have a fairly high arch, and this shoe offers enough support to keep my feet happy for hours. Nice traction and an attractive shoe overall. I'll keep an eye open for other sales on this shoe, but if these wear out before another color goes on sale, I may just splurge for this shoe. Very happy.
