My first experience with a minimalist shoe and I like them. Super light, take up no space in suitcase and very comfortable to walk in. Haven't tried exercising in them yet.

Takes some getting used to, but after a couple weeks nothing will feel as good. Walking with these shoes has made my posture and endurance better. I've had them a year and hiked/walked hundreds of miles, the only show minimal wear and still feel awesome.

I guess I have hard feet to fit. After numerous attempts at buying shoes through Zappos, I decided to try my luck purchasing "sneakers". With already big feet, the usual kind made them look even bigger, especially since I have narrow feet and most products are a regular width. I was skeptical when I read about these but gave them a try and am glad I did. they fit perfectly, although it took two attempts to settle on the absolute best fit. They are extremely lightweight and do take some getting used to. My legs hurt after the first full day I wore them at work, where I do a lot of walking. My feet felt great so I stuck with them and even though they are priced a little on the high side, I would buy another pair before I go back to the regular type of sport shoe. I am most impressed with the arch support. It's a molded piece and at first glance appears to be inadequate, but I assure it, it does a great job! If you want to try something a bit different, need good support, give these a try.

These are just like the name says, barefoot shoes.I just returned from a vacation in the Black Hills where we walked a lot and climbed a lot of rocks. I wore these every day and never had a blister or any other complaints. They might be the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They will not work for the winters we have so will look for another style before it gets too cold for these. If you love to go barefoot then you need to give these a try. I have bunions and a corn on my little toe that didn't bother me at all while wearing these. Highly recommended.

I love this shoe! This is my second pair. I have had my first for 2.5 and the smell of them has just reached capacity...they lasted a really long time. I don't think the 500 mile rule applies to this shoe, considering they are not cushioning shoes. I use them for running, hiking, and other workouts. I got the Lithe Glove for trail running, it's more cushioned. This is great for asphalt and dirt/minimal gravel roads.

DO NOT listen to other reviewers who say this shoe is true to size. I've been wearing Merrell's, size 7.5, for the past six years; trail, hiking, running shoes, etc. This was my first "barefoot" shoe. Based on reviews, I decided to go with my usual size. That was a mistake. You'll see when you pull these puppies out of the box...Obviously small. It is true that they should "fit like a glove" and hug your feet but your toes should not be jammed at the toecap at any point in time. Despite this, they are super duper comfy. So, I called Merrell directly and asked about the fit. A sales associate said, "Your toes should not be touching the toecap. For barefoot shoes, we recommend ordering a half size up". There you have it, folks! I reordered in a size 8 and I'm so happy with these shoes.

I purchased this pair for a light closed toed summer shoe. I've had them now for two years and absolutely LOVE them! I live in the northern heartland of the US and they're still perfect for me during the winter (my feet get pretty warm). I heard a little about minimalist running and decided to try them for my half marathon training. I will not go back to traditional running shoes. I bought a second pair just for running. It was SO different and weird at first as these shoes use more calf muscles when running. I started running on the balls of me feet instead of the heel and found I have more energy and endurance to run longer distances. My legs have become more powerful as less force is being put on my knees. I now have a pair of the Wonder Glove for casual dress and the Cherish Wrap for summer fun. LOVE Merrell!!! :)

Great shoe! I know Zappos is waiting at the end of my driveway, and when I order a shoe, they deliver it immediately. What great service from Zappos. And back to Merrell, I think you can't beat Merrell for comfort.

This is one of the greatest shoes ever made, lightweight, sturdy, minimalist and totally supportive! I bought these shoes last minute right before a long trip with lots and lots of walking. I was concerned about a new shoe without breaking it in first etc. but the Pace Glove held up beautifully, I was enormously impressed with its durability and performance. After walking constantly for days and days the soreness at the end of the day was minimal and I am sure the Merrells had everything to do with it! I have no complaints about any aspect of the design of this shoe and I prefer it over the new Pace Glove 2. I had no "transition time" but I have not work traditional heeled gym shoes in years. Wonderful product, great company.

LOVE my new Merrells! Have never had an athletic shoe that I could wear all day. Ordered half size bigger after reading other reviews, but needed my true size.

I've owned 3 pairs of these shoes, the first pair was amazing, I wore them until the soles wore out. The second pair I got really pinched my toes and would give me blisters when wet. I just discovered the wide width version. They are the most amazing running shoes I've come across so far. I have splay foot, and have a hard time finding shoes that allow for the extra width in my forefoot. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone interested in a minimal running shoe. The vibram sole is amazing. They literally lasted me hundreds of miles with little to no wear. The soles are so grippy, I'm surefooted in these on the steepest most slippery wet rock and gravel trails. They're also great for road runs. If you're considering these, don't hesitate, buy them!

I love these shoes! This is my first pair of barefoot shoes and it won't be my last. I wore them last weekend to help my sister-in-law move last weekend and was on my feet for about 8 hours, up and down stairs, etc. and my feet didn't hurt one bit at the end of the day!

I bought these shoes for walking on the beach on chilly days when I didn't feel like being barefoot. While they have a bit more structure in the sole than I like, they are great shoes. Very lightweight and flexible. Turns out I use them all the time and they are great for trail walking as well.

Great shoes! Very comfortable. I bought a half size bigger, but would suggest one size bigger for others.

Love these shoes. Had a pair similar 10 years ago barely wore them but when did loved them so had to get a new pair these are better , no socks, best on dirt trails I use them on a rock path which is okay but not ideal for me, still use my old ones at the beach 3 times a week. Vive Mexico.

I love this shoe! I bought mine for working out in the gym because I wanted something less bulky than my running shoes. It turns out they're also perfect for jogging, but I'm not a serious runner -- just a few miles once or twice a week. It's hard to describe how good these shoes feel -- you have to experience it. Light, breathable, and I love how they let my toes spread out; I never get the foot cramps I used to occasionally get in my running shoes. And they're great for travel because they pack down small and light. Some people have commented on the pleats along the top of the back. I wear thin double-layer running socks underneath and haven't had any problem with irritation. If you want to skip the socks, though, this might be something to consider.

The first pair I ordered (size 9, and I usually wear 8 1/2 shoe) shrunk after I washed them according to directions. Zappos replaced them for me with a size 9 1/2. I absolutely love for comfort and their light weight. I wore them walking all over Paris on a recent trip, which was the main reason I had bought them.

Great, extremely comfortable, lightweight, easy to pack as back up shoes. Love them! They felt half size smaller though. I usually wear 9 but had to get 9.5 of this model.

These are great shoes. First, I get loads of compliments on them even from strangers. Second, I can fit my orthodics in them easily. Roomy toe. Very light. I use them for both daily commutes and power walks of 3 miles or more. If I did not use orthodics, I would find the upper half slightly wide. Reviews said to order half size up which I did. Good advice.

It is about time someone made shoes with negative/narrow heels! The 9½ fits perfectly. There is even room for a ¼" heel lift since one leg is shorter. I am going to buy more of these exact same shoes so they can air out every other day since I will use them all the time walking not running. Maybe if these shoes correct my posture enough I might be able to run again. I love the feeling of walking barefoot in shoes!

Absolutely love these shoes! I have just received my 2nd pair in a different color (I wish they had more colors). I wear these for Zumba and for power walks and never feel any discomfort.

I don't think these shoes are particularly attractive, but functionally, I could not ask them to be any better. I just spent several weeks bouldering, hiking and climbing in the southwest. They performed much better for me than my "hiking" boots. They aren't as heavy and they stuck to the slick rock like glue. I struggle with the soles of my feet getting sore when I hike, but because they lace tightly and stay in place, my feet don't get sore. The ends of my toes do not bruise because the shoe stays where it should. People who tell you need ankle support don't understand why I like these, but I know that because I can feel the trail, I can compensate. I never missed my boots except in sand. Who knew shoes could could hold so much of it?

This review is a long time coming! I ordered these shoes last spring, in a 9. I was new to minimalist running and just so excited to start I kept them even though they felt a tad too small. I wore them through the summer and when I started losing toenails in the fall I figured it was time to do something. I contacted Merrell and they said they would replace them but suggested I contact the seller. In a whim (in my mind) I contacted Zappos and told them my story. Not only did they send a new pair of shoes in a larger size I was told not to worry about sending back the old pair. I have not experienced customer service like this in a long time, awesome! So that's Zappos. The shoes are great too; I really like them but pay attention so sizing, recommend going at least a 1/2 size up.

This shoe was accidentally shipped to me. I'd ordered a different shoe but this one was in the box. I tried it on my usual size and it felt too short. So I re-ordered it a half size larger (plus re-ordered the shoe I'd originally ordered!). I know this is a "barefoot" shoe but I like it with thin socks as well as barefoot. I like the light support and cushion and the light weight of the shoe.
