I hate these shoes. First I tried running in them after reading lots of info about barefoot running, I only ran a short distance and could barely walk for three weeks. Two months later I decided I should try walking in them a bit and they still hurt me only this time it was the side comes up high and rubs right up against my ankle bone. Worst money I ever spent.

Not flattering. No support (as expected). Not comfortable on me. I wear lots of Merrell shoes and am extremely happy with Zappos.

I love these! First of all, I'm an avid runner. During my peak season I average 5-10 miles every, or every other, day. Since I started wearing these sneakers, I kid you not, I have not had a single case of shin splints, knee aches or hip aches. I use to always have some sort of problem because I put so many miles in, even when I wore more expensive Asics. But not in these! I could just go, and go, and go... Second, I waitressed for years. I tried every kind of restaurant shoe made especially for waitressing. Nothing ever prevented my feet from killing after a shift. Then I started wearing these because I figured that if I could run 10 miles in them without my feet hurting then I should be able to work in them too...and seriously, my feet didn't hurt at all! This minimalist/barefoot thing is serious, there is some really great science behind it, I highly recommend trying these shoes or another kind like it. It can literally change your world. You're going to look at it and think - there's no arch or heel support, though. But that's the point. You're foot is perfect the way it is. It doesn't need arch support or an inch think hunk of plastic under the heel. It might take a little while to get use to them, but that's because you're reawakening muscles and tendons in your feet and ankles that your other sneakers have stifled. And your whole body will thank you. Other good things to know about these shoes - they're durable, they've held up perfectly to much abuse (months of running and restaurant work in them and they're still basically like new), they're easy to care for, you can throw them right in the washing machine, and they look good on! Only con I want to mention is that since this is a shoe that puts very little between your foot and the road, it hurts to step on rocks. Be careful. Also, this obviously isn't a cold-weather shoe. And you aren't going to keep your feet dry in wet conditions either, but since it's so lightweight that almost doesn't even matter!

I love these shoes but they could be a little longer. I love the wide width. They are comfortable and look great.

These are very very comfortable and I really love them. Too bad they are not making anymore. I wear them for a dance jazz class and like that I can point my toes in these. If they still have your size - do not wait. Buy them!

I really tried to like these barefoot sneakers. I watched the video and made a commitment to really wear them properly. I normally wear a 7, but I ordered both a 7 and a 7.5 based on comments from others on Zappos. After walking around my house for a couple of days in both sizes, I decided I prefer a cushy sneaker to these. My daughter has a pair and loves them, so I guess it's just a personal like/dislike issue. They are so attractive and I liked the idea of a barefoot sneaker. It just didn't work for me.

Very comfortable. There was a note in the box saying that you need to break in slowly. I did not listen to this and I was perfectly fine, no strained muscles or blisters! I tried 4 different pairs of similar shoes and chose these for best style and fit. I am very happy with my decision. I wore them all over Italy!

I love these! They were wonderful right out of the box. I normally wear a medium width but ordered them in wide based on feedback on this site. They are perfect! They are incredibly comfortable, even on long distance walks. I adore them and am so happy I got them.

Love, love, love these barefoot shoes. Wouldn't want to run in anything else. My third pair this year. The only thing is I wear the soles out to fast. He he he. guess they make my feet feel so good I just want to pound the pavement more.

I love these shoes. I work at a hospital and wear them 75% of the time, walking for 8 hrs. My feet don't get tired. that said, I am used to not having full support. They might take some getting used to if you are not.

Here is who I am: overweight, super wide feet and I work where I need to stand and move around all day. My typical sneakers last about 4 months maximum. But during summer, I love wearing flip flops. However, due to my work environment, I wanted a lighter sneaker type of shoes. When I ordered my first pair of Merrell Barefoot, I was uneasy about the price since, it will only last me one season. However, I found one on sale and I fell in love with it. I am on my first pair going on 10 months. I ordered my second pair since it was on sale and I have two overseas trip coming up. If I survived in these shoes for 10 months, I think anyone should invest in a pair (if it is on sale, extra perks for you)!

Super comfortable! A few reviews said go up a half size. I made the mistake of not and had to exchange for larger. In comparison, I bought a regular 7 in the Merrell Ascends, and needed a 7.5 wide in Pace Glove. Fit perfect now. Never thought I be the barefoot shoe wearer, as I always went for Brooks control type shoe, but these and the Ascends are amazing. Comfy from first day.

I'd like to comment both on the shoe and on the wonderful customer service I received from Zappos! 1) The shoe: I read many reviews before buying and elected to order my regular size. I really did need a 1/2 size up. Even wearing without socks. My "regular" size left my Fred Flintstone toes touching the ends. So I'd recommend shooting for a 1/2 size up regardless. Next, they are awesome. I have been wearing them to work out (cross fit, elliptical), to walk my dogs on uneven terrain, to exercise my horse in sand, and at work as a vet tech where I'm on my feet all day. I thought I was super happy with the comfort of my Keen boots...uh, these are way more comfy! My feet and back are thanking me for buying these shoes. I was hesitant to go with 5 fingers as my husband has done but wanted something closer to barefoot and these have been great thus far. 2) Customer Service: Can't say enough good things about ordering from Zappos. When I had concerns about my first shipment in an 8.5, I got on the CS chat and asked a few questions. Turned out that I felt I needed a bigger size. I asked if I could order another pair in the larger size and they just sent me the new pair, no additional charge as long as I returned the smaller pair in a timely fashion. I was totally prepared to have to pay the extra to get the shoes by the time I needed them but Zappos took great care of me.

This is my first experience with a "barefoot" shoe style. I found this shoe to be extremely comfortable from the start (no break in time needed), and find them my "go to" casual shoe. I do wish I had gone for the wide size but this shoe is comfortable and looks great with everyday casual wear.

I love these shoes! I couldn't bring myself to wear the "five finger" shoes, but these are a great alternative. I work as a cashier in a busy grocery store and was experiencing foot, leg, and back pain. Since I've started wearing these shoes, I no longer experience any of that. My feet feel great! With regard to arch support, I feel these shoes provide excellent support. They are tight around the arch, which provides stability. While there isn't any arch padding, the narrowness of the shoe works like a girdle for the arch and keeps the arch from getting fatigued. I wear these without socks since they can be thrown into the wash anytime. I highly recommend these shoes.

It's a miracle! I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel, and super high arch. I've been having excruciating foot pain during workouts for about two years and have tried every supportive shoe, orthotic, and insole. On a whim, my podiatrist suggested barefoot shoes. The difference was amazing! I definitely prefer being barefoot over wearing shoes but every medical professional I saw told me I needed more supportive shoes than my ballet flats, Uggs, and Crocs. With these shoes, an hour-long cardio dance class was so much more enjoyable without the pain! My theory is that my body knows its own gait and the other shoes were forcing it into something foreign. These shoes allowed me to move the way I was built and I had a 90% decrease in pain immediately! I did notice my feet and calves feeling a little more tired but since I spend so much time in barefoot-type shoes, I didn't need to ease into wearing them. I'm definitely going to buy more Merrell barefoot shoes and my husband is looking at them too!

I love these for the barefoot feeling while they still protect my feet. I could feel the pebbles on the beach but still my feet were protected. great summer shoe.

This is my second pair of Pace Gloves. I really like these. They were my first barefoots and were so good for my feet. If you are at the top edge of your size or you plan on wearing socks (like another reviewer said), I recommend sizing up. I gave three stars for style because they are not particularly cute. Not particularly ugly, either. Just trail/running shoes.

Really light and comfortable on your feet! They really do make you want to run as soon as you put them on. Word to the wise, loosen laces all the way -- I mean all the way -- out before you determine these are too narrow to put on if you have slightly wider feet. I ordered a 6 regular initially because that's what my Merrell boot size is, thought it didn't fit, and then sent it back. When the 6 wide came back in stock, I ordered it immediately, but when it arrived, it appeared to be a 6 regular, according to the inside label. Dejected, I went to send them back again, but then my husband loosened the laces as far as they could go, and they actually did go on the second time and fit, like the name implies, like a glove. Love these protective yet thin-soled running shoes!

These fit like a glove. I do recommend easing into long wear times but only a week after first using them, I can easily wear them for an eight hour shift (retail, so I am on my feet all that time). Because I walk barefoot (literally) at home and it suddenly made sense to try it for work too. So when I chose this style of shoe, I had a feeling that the padding in my other shoes was not working for me. The theory was good: more padding equals comfort but I was getting constant knee pain and wondered if the ultra padded sole was throwing off my gait. The minimalist style of these shoes proves my theory. My knee pain is significantly reduced, my feet feel light and cool and the fit is very comfortable. I ordered a couple of sizes to try and settled on the 9W because I really like extra wiggle room for my toes (in Skechers I wear a 9½M so all styles are different) I will be purchasing a second pair for work (in black) and maybe a third pair for home in pink. Yes, I like them that much. It is a big bonus that they are very cute.

These are great shoes. I did order a 1/2 size up from my normal size, since I wanted to keep my toenails from touching the front. I probably overdid it the first day I got them with a two-mile walk wearing them barefoot, and I got a blister on the back of my heel. Since then, I've worn lightweight socks and haven't had an issue. I don't usually wear athletic shoes barefoot anyway, so that's fine for me. I have been wearing Danskos at work, but I think I like these better. My feet don't feel tired at all at the end of the day, which is saying a lot. I'm very happy with my purchase.
