Absolutely love these shoes... until they started to fall apart. I am exchanging them for a new pair and really hope they hold up better. So comfortable for running, walking or just about anything!

As an addendum to my original review, I wanted to relay that my original pair of these starting falling apart after 1 1/2 month of light trail running (maybe 2-3 miles about 2 times each week. The sole started delaminating off of the toe. I was frustrated and called Zappos. I love Zappos! They responded pretty immediately by asking me if I would like them replaced or whether I wanted to try another shoe. They replaced the same pair for free as long as I sent back the delaminated pair (shipping on their dime!). Great service. I've only used the new Merrells a few times. Hoping they don't delaminate too, because I really find them comfortable and want them to last. And they are so much more attractive than ugly Vibram 5 fingers.

This shoe is narrow at the arch which causes blisters on my left foot. I bought this pair hoping to have something a bit more stylish than my Feiyue martial arts shoes for minimalist, 'barefoot'-type running; however, they just aren't as comfortable as my Feiyues.

At first they were super comfy but really not great for active wear. Possibly this has to do with being overweight.

I really wanted to love this shoe, but the way the shoe fits does not work for me. I purchased the 9½ and they were very big, and the 9 is too small. This is unusual for me and Merrell's but oh well. Unfortunately, I bought the shoe for a trip and desperately needed them, but if I did not need them, I would have returned them. Please note, these shoes are meant to be barefoot so there is very little support. The laces help, but there is little arch support, if any.

I love the soles of these, and they are quite cute, but the rough exposed seams on the insides rubbed my arches raw. A shame, because otherwise these would be my favourite sneakers ever. Instead I can't wear them.

These felt like I was wearing cleats. The sole is oddly raised and feels like you could roll your ankle. Not my idea of minimal. I returned these and ended up getting the dash glove. I have been wearing Nike free for 7 years and Vibram "toe shoes" for the past year so I am coming from a very barefoot experience. The arch support seemed good but more structure than I wanted for a minimal shoe. The quality and look were great as you'd expect from Merrell.

I was disappointed in these - the sole felt great, but the upper was tight, even in a wide width (I don't have wide feet but got the wide because of the tightness of the medium). This caused friction and rubbing along the inner instep, causing blisters. The material was rough and it felt like the seams rubbed against my skin. These are meant to be worn barefoot, so this is a flaw the designers should fix.

I am a big fan or Merrell and minimalist shoes so I was really excited to try these but unfortunately I was really disappointed. I tried many different lacing techniques and various pairs of socks and I could not find a way to run in these without them rubbing the top of my feet. I can see and feel that there are some rough seams around where the tongue attaches. I think these shoes would be fine for hiking or just walking around but I would not recommend them for running.

I wrote a great review for this shoe right after I got it almost a year ago. However, less than a month after I received the shoes (and wore them at least 5 days a week to clean condos in), the rubber sole (bottom) began to separate from the rest of the shoe at the front/toe portion. I was pretty bummed, since they cost a lot! :( But I'd already been wearing them for weeks, so what could I do? Also, they stink terribly after just one day of wearing them without socks. They're also not true to size. They feel about a 1/2 size too large. So they caused me to develop blisters on the backs of both of my ankles, with or without socks. Anyway, I was shopping on here today, and saw these in my order history, which prompted me to update my previous review.

This is a beautiful shoe, but they have made getting into a nightmare, as the strings hold the tongue of the shoe in such a way that it is difficult to get it up enough to slip your foot into. Nightmare design over time. In the picture you can see what appears like string holes, but it is a stationary band across the tongue of the shoe, making, as I said earlier, it very difficult to get your foot into, at least for me.Such an inflexible design.

I just received these shoes and cannot understand the hype. First of all, the sizing is very off. I normally wear an 8.5. I read reviews and ordered a 9. Even barefoot, my big toe crushes against the tip of the shoe; so I should have ordered a full size larger instead of a half size larger for them to fit properly. Secondly, these in no way feel like a "barefoot" shoe. They feel like a hard, very uncomfortable sneaker, and the sole is not thin. The arch support begins in the wrong place, at least for me, and my feet are pretty normal with good arches. Their arch support begins under the pad, throwing the entire feel of the shoe off. I literally feel like I'm stepping on a bar. It makes me wonder if most people who love these have rather flat feet. In my opinion, the only thing these have going for them is their sole flexibility (there is not enough flexibility for the top...they have laces but defeat the purpose by putting the laces over a non stretching bar which ends up feeling as if I laced them too tight and digs into the top of my foot). Maybe if the arch support was in the right spot, they'd be worth trying out for a longer period of time, but I just think they're terrible.

I liked the comfort of this shoe initially, but after about an hour my longer middle toes started rubbing on the front of shoe. Uncomfortable. Then are also hot, as in my feet were always clammy and sweaty, socks or no socks. Yuck. Maybe a half size larger might have helped, but the toes area is so wide already it may look odd.

I liked the looks and light weight of this shoe but the stationary band across the first islets of the laces would not stretch enough to get my foot into the shoe.

I bought this shoe based on the great reviews. It does not offer enough support for me or absorb shock. It is very lightweight and would be good for travel, wish it had more support.

Sorry did not like, I usually love Merrell's but not this style. Too hard to get on, don't like the ties and big in toe area.

I was really excited to receive this shoe. I ordered a size smaller based on reviews. It is a very cute shoe and could be very comfortable and perfect for travel. However, after two sizes I was not able to get the shoe to fit properly around my ankle regardless of the laces. I hope I am able to find a similar style by another manufacturer.

Loved the style and fit of this shoe. However, the back elastic part of the shoe made my one ankle very sore and blistered. Tried getting shoe broke in but always had trouble with the one shoe. Talked with Zappos representative. She took care of my shoe issue. As always, very happy with Zappos and their customer service.

I bought these for work. I'm a server and am on my feet on concrete 6 or 7 hours a shift. They were fantastic. My back and knees no longer hurt and my feet felt stronger. Unfortunately the first time I washed them - in cold water, air dry - they shrunk! My toes are about to pop out the front. So disappointing, for the price they should be able to last more than a month and one wash.

I am a runner and have been trying to find minimalist shoes that work for me. Finally I made my way to these and tried them out today on an easy 3 mile run. Too bad the run turned into terror. Around midpoint I noticed some burning under my lateral ankles and balls of my feet. Around 2-2.5 miles I had to stop and walk because the burning had turned into massive blisters and I could not jog another step. Too bad these are all dirty now because I want my money back. Sigh.

These are my second Merrells. First pair is sandals (Gardena Thong) which I love dearly. They are very comfy. Since I was so happy with my sandals, I decided to buy a pair of Barefoot Pace Glove two months ago. Since then I am wearing them during the day at work. They are very lightweight and comfy. Today it was my first time to take them out for trail running. I run 4 miles and my feet are on fire right now. I had hot spots on my sole of both feet. They really hurt and I am very disappointed with my shoes. I am not so sure how these shoes got 4.5 star rating. They are not good for running. Period.

Though the shoes are very comfortable they are not well msde. I have worn through the sole in less than 2 months of running on dirt roads and the toe area began to separate after one month.

I know what you are thinking. These shoes are super cute! But they are very uncomfortable. The soles are very thin, so I feel like I hit the pavement that much harder. The backs of them also rub up against my heel causing cuts and blisters. They are not worth the money.

These shoe are thin and flimsy, small, non-supportive and very cheap feeling. There is no cushioning anywhere on these shoes. I returned them five minutes after trying them on.

These shoes have no support. I recommend the Saucony Minimalist shoe or Nike Free shoes.
