I work out outside on a parcours trail, and this is the perfect shoe for that. It helps with balance and flexibility and is perfect for anything that requires quick, nimble movement with good feedback from your feet. I can't comment on long-distance running, but for sprints, jumps, etc. it's been perfect. It does take a little getting used to -- having your heel at the same level as the balls of your feet, but after wearing these a few times I loved them! They also helped with my lower back pain and are so light that I really do feel barefoot. And they come in a size 15! The look isn't really my style, but they aren't unattractive. If they came in style that was a little dressier, I'd be wearing these all the time.

Great Trail (barefoot) running shoes, it truly forces you to run a la "Pose Running Technique." It may take a bit of time to get used to it, if these are going to be your first barefoot running shoes, although, once you get use to them, you will not want to go back to regular running shoes. :)

For running purposes, I use the Vibram Five Fingers, and after getting used to them, my feet pretty much cried when I put them back into regular shoes. For work, I wanted something similar to the Five Fingers, but that looked decent enough that people wouldn't be staring at my feet all day. I'm a pharmacist, so I stand on my feet for 8 to 12 hours a day, and these have been perfect so far. They do get a little tight around my mid-foot, but other than that, I love them.

Love this shoe. I've been running barefoot style for about 3 months now on Nike Free Run+ 2 which I like. The Trail Glove is lighter with less heel cushion. I've been running primarily on pavement with the Trail Glove which has been great. I figured it was similar to the Vibram FiveFinger but less funny looking. I had to go with a half size larger with my Nike Free Run's but the Merrell Trail Glove fit true to size.

I really wanted to like running in the Vibram Five Fingers, but kept getting blisters on the bottom of my feet wearing them. The tiny bit of padding these shoes has solved the problem for me. I love running in these.

This shoe is awesome. With every shoe company now making barefoot running shoes you know there's got to be something there. I ran 3 miles the other day and although my calves are still crazy sore, my run felt better than ever. Merrell has made something really special with these. Can't wait for my next run!

This is the most amazing lightweight shoe I have found. Worn sockless the heel to toe box conforms tightly to the foot's shape and feels like a glove; the wide toe box gives great tactile feedback over any surface. Thin sole, good grip, just a great shoe. The mesh breaths well, too.

I was looking for shoes that would give me the feel of running barefoot with the protection of a regular running shoe. the Merrells definitely fill the bill! I would say that this is as close to a barefoot feel as you can get with a shoe on. I tried the Saucony, Evo, and Nike Free products and felt that the Merrell trail glove was the closest to barefoot. My wife, who is very style conscious, commented favorably on the look and was relieved that I did not go with the Vibram Five Fingers. I did find that they run a little big and would recommend getting them half a size smaller than your normal shoe size.

I recently began street running in Vibram Five Finger shoes but wanted something I could put on faster in transition during an Olympic distance triathlon. These shoes are light, have good ground feel and are quick to put on. My feet are 8.5 E's and these felt more like D's but were otherwise true to size. I found that if I lace them tight the small folds in the canvas tend to chafe while I run. Loosely tied, however, they felt great. Did the Nations triathlon with these in September and had my fastest run time ever!

Great shoe! I love the airflow, and the width around the toes.
The sole doesn't feel quite as flat as on my Vibram FiveFingers, but overall I give this shoe top marks for being a comfortable, minimal shoe.

Excellent quality of construction. I am normally a size 12 ordered the 11.5 and they fit perfectly. Best barefoot shoe I have ever had. Would buy them again and am going to try out the tough glove next for cooler weather.

I love these shoes. I have the 5 finger and the Vivo Evo shoes. These are now my go to shoes. I will say that that I did feel more spots at first when going bare foot, but that has now passed. I have the grey/yellow and was at first worried about this look based on colors. I can safely say that they look great. I now wear them everywhere without concern. As for size, it seemed about the same for me. I typically go for an 11 in non die hard running shoes so I went with this. They fit great without socks. As for the wide/narrow issue. At first I felt the sides but that was more mental than anything. I have flat feet and I think these are the perfect width. I love these shoes!

Zappos does it again! Ordered these on a Thursday night around 9pm and they were at my door the next day by 3pm. How do they do it? The world may never know. These shoes are amazing! They run true to size. I am a women's 1.5 or 11 and I ordered the Men's 8.5 They fit perfectly - like a glove! I tried the Men's 9 in a store and it was a bit too roomy on the toe box. The toe box of these shoes runs wide, the womens version is much narrower. I love the thin vibram bottom, feels like your barefeet have a rugged flexible sole. Wore them in the rain right away and no slipping at all. Great traction. Super comfy interior, meant to be worn without socks. If I wanted to wear these with socks I would have to size up, these fit like a literal glove. Mesh upper allows the foot to breathe, doesn't get too sweaty or hot. I haven't run in them yet but I did a few short sprints in them and I can feel the muscles being worked out differently due to the barefoot "midstrike" run. I can't wait to break these in and become a barefoot runner. I will never wear those big clunky gym shoes again. These are so comfy I didn;t want to take them off! I drove over 3 hours in them, and wore them in the house, and to bed. I swear I didn't want to take them off. Amazing! I did tons of research before purchasing and I'm so glad I did - these are the absolute best!

I love these shoes! They have all the benefits of a barefoot shoe without making you look like a yeti wannabe. Miles ahead of the socks and duct tape I was running in to see if I would like barefoot shoes. I typically wear a size 13 but after reading the reviews I decided to order a 12. They fit perfectly, even with socks! In fact, once I tried them on they were so comfortable I didn't want to take them off. Running is a whole new experience. My feet feel light, maneuverable, and confident even after an hour of running. Thumbs up to Merrell on the design of this shoe. The black and grey doesn't stand out so you can wear them to restaurants and trade shows (like I just did.) Yes, they are pricey but worth every penny. Best shoes ever.

For those of you who like the feel of running around barefoot this is your shoe. Mine are very comfy although they did run a little large. Great for walking if you are not a barefoot runner and great for both if you are. I love wearing them out mainly because no one looks at me like I'm from another planet, unlike the 5 fingers.

I've had these shoes for a month now and am hooked on the "barefoot" experience. I already feel that it is changing the way I walk and run. I bought these primarily for CrossFit workouts, and they are great for heavy lifting, sprinting, running, etc. But, I love them for all around use as well. A great alternative to the Vibram FiveFingers, so I don't get funny looks from people!

I'm not a runner; I use this shoe for walking, general purposes, and dance, and I absolutely love it! Great fit, excellent "barefoot but protected" feel. Truly fits like a glove. But if you need arch support, minimalist footwear is not for you.

Excellent shoe. I use it for both running and walking around, and I couldn't be happier. If you're new to wearing this style of shoe, it may take some time to adjust - not in terms of comfort, but use of muscles that may have atrophied due to use of other types of shoes. Still, it's my go-to shoe.

What a great shoe. At first, it felt slightly weird to have the arch and sides push against my feet, but after running in them, it actually offered support and there was no discomfort. A great minimalist shoe, or at least a gateway to barefoot running.

I have bought two pair of the Merrel Barefoot Trail Gloves. They are great shoes and I highly recommend them but the sizing is a bit of a problem. I am a regular size 11, which is the size I ordered for the first pair. They fit but just and over time my toes began to bang against the top cap. The second pair is an 11½. Those fit much better. You will love the shoes, my wife has a pair as well and is planning a second pair, but think about half a size bigger than your usual size.

Very comfortable, with or without socks. I have somewhat wide, flat feet, and these fit perfectly.
Note that Merrell sizing is a little different than what Zappos has in their size chart. Going by Merrell's chart (on their website), I should get a size 9. Going by Zappos' chart, I should get a 10. Size 9 was correct for me, so I recommend going to Merrell's site and using their sizing.

My 17 year old son saw these on another site and wanted to order them - I suggested we check to see if Zappos has them as I love their quick shipping and return policy. He said they fit true to size and are very comfortable. I can't comment on the durability as we have just had them a couple of weeks.
