I'm not a runner, I don't even walk my dog fast. But as part of my job I am a photographer. I walk backwards not looking where I'm going, I climbing up on things. I need for my feet to feel their way along and these are great shoes for that. There's nothing excess, very flexible. I've got several Puma Speed Cats, a bunch of low top Chucks and these Merrells are my new favorite work shoes. I have two pairs, the Trail gloves breathe much better than the Sonics. I will buy more. The lining is wearing fast for a shoe at this price.

Nice shoe. The only problem my husband had was that the shoe runs big. So he returned and went a full size down.

Awesome low-pro shoes. Great materials and quite durable so far. Worn them twice now, once to an all day festival and once trail running. The shoes held up very well and in washing them in the washing machine, look like new. (not that they ever got super dirty). Comfortable, and my jury on the run barefoot movement is still out. But overall very quality shoes. I just would have thrown in some green highlights.

I have to start out by saying...I love these kicks! I ran Cross Country, Relays and sprints in H.S., but besides preparing for the fire dept., I haven't run since. I do love going on day hikes and I hate wearing conventional sneakers and socks. I wanted something I could wear every day and was as close to barefoot as possible. Someone told me about the FF and I initially tried them, but I really wasn't really thrilled with the look so I took them back the next day and bought these on a whim (I love Merrell and have the chameleons for years). From go they have been my absolute favorite footwear. I wear them everywhere. When I go on my friend's boat, when I go for a hike (light daypack), around the house and now running! Last week a friend got me out for the first time in a long time. I started with an older pair of Nike Frees I had from my FD training and 3 days later decided to wear my Trail Gloves. Goodbye Nikes. I'll never run in anything else. I took a little time to get used to the cadence and landing on the balls and mid foot instead of heel (hell) striking. If you are a runner, shorten your runs for a while until you are used to them. You can use the Go Barefoot App from Merrell if you want. But my running has improved and I have actually started to really enjoy it. My calves were really sore after the first few runs but that has subsided. I also feel my posture has gotten better. I have pretty big arches and I have had no problems. The toe box is big and awesome which allows me to spread out my toes and really "grip" when I want. I have had no knee or shin pain (which I got when I ran in the past). They also dry fast after getting wet (crossing streams while hiking). People have said that they smelly but I have not encountered this (my feet really don't sweat or smell normally) but I also put foot powder in them every few days. So if you have made it this far into my ramblings, I'll leave you with this. This is a great pair of shoes. Merrell really has made the "swiss army" of sneakers. I recommend them for everything. Simply the best pair I have ever owned.

These are the most comfortable shoes I ever bought! I am looking to purchase a pair for my husband and adult boys. I purchased the women's barefoot shoe.

I wear a Euro 46 in Footprints, so tried this shoe in a 12 first. Much too big. Even with my Morton's toe, the 11 (Euro 45) is perfect. Hard to say whether Footprints run large or Merrells run small. Since these Merrells arrived a month ago I've barely taken them off--they are that comfortable, and I've worn them to the office and running on pavement. Not as much ground feel as minimal shoes like Vivobarefoots, but very light and flexible. The shoe hugs your foot and will feel at first like it's supporting your arch, but as it wears in you'll see it really doesn't--and if you're moving to a minimal shoe you'll count that a good thing. Highly recommended.

Extremely comfy, perfect for trail running or just walking. Not too good for steep inclines with loose gravel; not too good for wet grass and hard turning (i.e. football). Otherwise the perfect shoe.

I bought these to replace another pair of Merrell shoes which I wore out. I'm a huge fan of Vibram Five-Fingers, but can't really wear them in the office. These on the other hand work great in pretty much any attire/environment. Granted, they're not board-room material, but I'm not in that environment daily so it's not a big deal. They are fantastic as a barefoot shoe. The toebox is surprisingly large, and they weigh just about nothing. I normally wear a size 12, and ordered a 12 in these. In this size I can wear thin socks with them which I prefer to do vice going barefoot. I would buy these again and would recommend them to anyone who likes 5-fingers or barefoot shoes.

I love these shoes. Just a couple months ago I first purchased the Inov8 f230's and they were terrible. My feet always hurt after my workouts. They felt way too narrow. Because of the over-the-top service from Zappos I was able to return the inov8's (at their expense) and get these instead. I use these for my crossfit workouts. They are the best workout shoes I've ever owned - had them about a month now.

I have been running in Vibram 5 Fingers Biala for several months and recently switched to the Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove for Winter running. It is an excellent shoe and keeps my feet warmer in the colder temperatures. A great shoe.

I got these after reading 'Born to Run' Great book, Great shoes thus far. I probably could have eased into them a bit slower. Within a month I was running 4 miles a few times a week which I could never do before without getting shin splints and other pain. A few things to know: Buying these shoes will not make you run correctly but it will help, you still have to focus on keeping a short stride and not heel striking. Don't run more than .5 miles the first time you run in these things or you'll pay for it. I ran .75 miles since it didn't feel too bad at .5 but a few minutes later I was hobbling around the house like a 100 y/o man. Your feet will thank you for these shoes, I now hate wearing anything else including my Nike Airmax's. Oh and your calves will get jacked if you run in these and your ability to run hills will also greatly increase.

Awesome shoes. I bought these for a trip to Kauai and wore them hiking, in the water, and pretty much everywhere I went. I took them home and gave them a wash and they were as good as new! Very comfortable.

I didn't want the "Five Fingers" style so this seemed like a good compromise. They're light weight, comfortable, functional, and look good. Merrell shoes always satisfy.

These worked great for a dirt road 10K! I have been wearing these to the gym everyday running a little bit more and more trying to get my feet adjusted to the style of running when I signed up for a 10K. While the rest of the pack looked they were getting slowed down in the mud and soft sand as their traditional running shoes caked up with mud these just keep on going. They are truly the lightest shoes that I have worn! The only issue I have had were the river rocks that seemed to pop up that did not feel good when I rolled over them. It takes a little bit to break in like most Merrell shoes.

I enjoy this shoe. This shoe fits a little big in the toe box and nice and snug in the heel. I think this is intentional, because it is a barefoot runner. I use these shoes for running, CrossFit workouts and Olympic lifting. They are light and comfortable. I like that I can wear socks with this barefoot runner. I have a pair of Vibram five fingers and they are great for summer running and working out, but no socks allowed. Enjoy.

If you like the barefoot style you will most likely like this shoe too. Shoe is well built and very happy with purchase. I had to go 1/2 size up from my norm.

What a great shoe! Bought these for my son who is an athlete. Quality product through and through. Good accurate fit. The biggest benefit is the low profile to the ground. I am getting a pair for myself as well.
