I have been a Merrell buyer for years now. I'm the kind of guy who, when he finds a quality brand, sticks with it. This shoe is tough, stylish informal, and comfortable in any situation. Excellent shoe.

I wore these Merrill shoes to Burnimg Man (and Las Vegas), where I stomped around all week, got lost in strange casino time warps, rolled around in the desert dust, climbed strange objects, ate things that made me feel funny, and barely slept all week. I was literally on my feet for 7 days. The shoes NEVER let me down.
I tend to be prone to foot pain, but with the phenomenal arch support in the Moab it just never happened. The waterproof shell held up beautifully. I can't say this enough: they were worth every penny.
These are among the most comfortable and sturdy shoes I've ever worn. I would highly recommend them to anyone with arch support problems, or hitting the trail (particularly where it's wet or dry).

I have walked at least 15 to 20 miles per week (sometimes closer to 25) in these shoes for a year now, and they are just starting to get worn smooth in a few places on the soles. I love these shoes and in Portland, OR winters, the waterproof part is a big deal. But with all the features and the comfort, they don't lack in style one bit. I am buying a new pair today, and will keep on buying the Waterproof Moab's for my walking shoes. Comfortable, slow to wear, and felt broken in and smooth on day 1. Love 'em.

Very comfortable. Tried several other brands. These arrived during cold weather. Wore them around the house to warm them up. So glad I did. Felt like I' broke them in for months. Wish laces were a bit longer though. They easily become untied. Nuisance.

Great shoe, too short. Need 1/2 size larger. Normally wear a 9.5 but this fit like a 9.

Overall a good show, I haven't put too many miles into them yet, so I can't comment on how waterproof they are compared to a goretex shoe. But so far they are very comfortable, good support, very easy to move in. I would recommend this product

My husband really likes these shoes and keeps buying them over and over - this time the waterproof version which is nice but not as breathable. They have wide sizes - which is a big factor in buying

I have a size 14 foot so once I find a pair of shoes I like I tend to stick with them. This is the third pair of Merrell Moabs I have owned and I keep coming back. I had a pair of GORE-TEX, but they must not make them anymore because they didn't have my size. I tried the waterproof instead and everything was great.

I am a big Merrell fan and have multiple pairs. I just wore out a trust pair of Moab Ventilators this summer. These waterproof Moab's will take me into the colder months. And they look great! The ventilator always feels a bit more roomy in the toes but these fit overall very well.

These are great shoes. They are comfortable and provide great support. I have wide feet and the wide size fits me well. My one gripe is that the shoelaces are too short. Merrell should consider providing longer laces with the Wide size of this shoe. Apparently it hasn't occurred to Merrell that people with wide feet need longer laces.

If I could give 4½ stars for overall and comfort, I would. The only reason that I did not go with five for both is that they feel a hair wide (I would say I have average width feet, most shoes/sneakers fit well). I am not a huge hardcore hiker but was going on a trip to Costa Rica and knew that running sneakers were not going to cut it in the rain forest and on hiking trails near volcanoes. These shoes are great - out of the box comfort was outstanding; the laces and tread feel nice and firm and supportive, the grip was there, and they actually even do not look too dorky with shorts. We got lucky and did not have to deal with any rain so I cannot comment on performance in mud or with regards to water protection. My wife got the women's version (different colorway) so we matched-ish, but not nauseatingly so. So if you are into that, it is a bonus option. She is also very pleased with the purchase.

I have seen this shoe for years but never bothered to try them on because they are so ugly. I have been playing a lot of disc golf and needed a pair if shoes with waterproof protection and stability. These have really fit the bill. I tried on similar Soloman and Adidas but the soles felt flimsy compared to the Moabs. I have worn these around 6 times and so far they have not stretched and feel great. I ordered a size larger than normal and put superfeet orange in them. I do wish they would make a 12.5!

These are my third pair of Merrell Moab shoes, so obviously I like the product. They are generally well made and comfortable - I think they are a good looking casual shoe for jeans or shorts. They also wear well with the exception of the laces that I have had to replace twice on my earlier purchases, and for some reason Merrell does not produce replacement laces that match all of their shoes.

I bought these for my husband for work. He says they are great in bad weather not that heavy if a boot. Plus very comfortable. And the tie is important to really block out water and snow. And true to size so buy your size.

I bought these as a commuter to NYC. I wanted something warm, waterproof, but not a boot, and these fit the bill. I've only worn them a couple times but they fit snug (size 13) and are definitely warm - honestly too warm for me to wear indoors all day.

Great shoe...would really like it if its support could last a bit longer. I've had this shoe for 4 months and have worn it just about the entire time. I tend to walk around 50 or so miles a week, in addition to however many miles I accumulate partaking in life. And in that time my feet have never gotten wet while wearing these. I can not switch back to non-water proof shoes now! Maybe I'm hard on the shoe, but I do feel like they are a bit short on lifespan. Still waterproof mind you - just a bit less supportive.

This is a very comfortable hiking shoe. However the size is a full size smaller than normal. Make sure you order accordingly.

Nice shoes. Lightweight and comfortable. Wore them for an hour in pouring rain last week and feet stayed totally dry. Gave 4 instead of 5 stars for comfort because area of sole under ball of foot could be a bit thicker/"cushier," like my running shoes. Back in the day I couldn't wear Merrell shoes because they were too narrow. Now they make wide widths so that's no longer the case!

Anytime I get a new pair of shoes I add to or replace the center cushion to give the shoe a better ride. I do a lot of walking by choice and My biggest complain about this shoe is the shoe string won't stay tied regardless what knot I use. I know I can replace the string with other type of string. As of now I can't walk half a mile with out them coming lose. I have to tied these shoes about 7 or 8 times a day in normal walking. The shoes are not breathable and that's B/C they are water proof I think. I have a pair of Moab ventilators and they ventilate fine. The shoe strings on the Moab Ventilators are also round and some better about not coming lose. The water proof shoe seems to be just as comfortable as the other pair I have and they seem to be very durable so for. Zappos is a very good company and so for they have been very nice to me on any returns whether the wrong size or something else I didn't like about the shoe.

The fit out of the box was pleasingly uniform, with no tightness or looseness anywhere. A solid week's break-in was needed to eliminate stiffness and make shoes comfortable for extended wearing, though. For a low-cut shoe they provide very good stability, traction, and support. One serious vice, however, is that the uppers are now biting into the tendons on top of the big toes as the shoes flex during normal walking; particularly when first put on each day. This is still occurring after one month of walking 3 to 4 miles daily. I would have rated this shoe much higher for comfort without this flaw.

I just tried them on and the first words were omg these are so comfortable!! I have work in a few days will update afterwards. Also FYI they do run a little tight I am regularly a 14 but i would need a 14.5 - 15 if they came in them.

My husband loves these shoes. He wears them for hiking but even more for walking our dogs in all kinds of weather. They keep his feet both comfortable and dry. His only complaint is that the top eyelet that the laces pull through is made of plastic and keeps snapping in half for him. He likes his laces extra tight and the laces get stuck in the broken eyelet. This is the second pair that this has happened to. We sent the first pair back and exchanged it for another pair thinking it was a fluke thing but it happened again. Now he has decided to live with it because he likes the rest of the shoes so much.

Great show. I usually wear a size 11W. But found the 11W in this show narrow in the toe box. To the point that I moved up a half size to a 11 1/2 W. Shoe is a bit bulky but very comfortable and you don't notice the bulkiness once you have it on.

Pretty solid hiking shoes. They feel sturdy but fairly light. I've worn them on a three-day backpack and a couple day hikes, and so far they're holding up well. In river crossings, they kept the water out until I needed to submerge my foot, and then they kept my feet fairly warm in the snowmelt-cold current.
So: so far, so good. The real test is how they hold up over an entire season. If so, I'll come back and upgrade to 5 stars.

Third pair I've had, not as good as the others. Made narrower than in the past, you can see the difference side by side. And they started using cheap, old style shoelaces that don't stay tied.
