Not waterproof. I purchased these shoes for their claim to be 'Wateproof'. I was very disappointed, however, to find my toes quite soaked after just 10 minutes of walking through wet grass. Maybe my pair was defective, but I returned them to the store from where I purchased them.

Much smaller than the marked size. I kept expecting them to stretch out because I have had several pairs of Merrell before, including a pair much like these. However, they continued to be uncomfortably tight. Order at least half a size up, perhaps one full size up if you want these to feel right on your feet.

So I'm on my second pair of these shoes. The first pair started falling apart after about 3 months, and they were replaced. The second pair lasted 6 months before falling apart. The sole is pulling away from the shoe, making it not waterproof. I use them for everyday ware, outdoor chores, nothing very strenuous. Pretty disappointed in Merrell.

A unique experience for me. The right side of the shoe, and only on the right side, presses down on my small toe to the point of pain. My guess is there is a production/quality control issue with the manufacturer. I will rate this item low because of the problem. Otherwise, the rating would be much higher.

These shoes would be excellent if they were indeed waterproof. I am a golf course superintendent who walks the golf course every morning while the grass is dewy and moist. The shoes held up great the first week but now they are totally worthless as far as keeping water out. Besides the water issue...they are comfortable.

BTW: this review is for the Merrell Moab FST Leather Waterproof, not the one pictured. The one pictured above, and mis-labeled, is the Merrell Moab Ventilator, which, in my opinion is a terrific shoe. I have 4 pairs. Could have been an anomaly, but the Merrell FST LW was one of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever tried to walk in. After a mile and a half, I had blisters on both heels. The shoe is stiff and blocky, and feels suffocating. The toe box is tight, but the heel is loose, so lacing doesn't help much, and because there is little flex, there's a lot of rubbing. My advice: Walk away. (But not in these shoes.)

were great pair of shoes to start, but less than 3 months, and they are shot. the insoles are junk to start, so i put in a different pair of insoles. even after that, if i walk on gravel or rocks, i can feel each rock under my feet. merrell shoes used to be a good quality product. not so much anymore, pretty much done with merrell, and now after only having them on for a couple of hours, my feet are really hurting.

These are great except they keep falling apart - I have bought these for my son repeatedly because they do fit well and have good support, but I can't spend twice a year because he needs new ones because they've fallen apart again. He doesn't abuse them. He wears them to classes at college, bikes around campus, and walks. Nothing unusual, but the sides come apart from the bottom of the shoe after just a few months of normal wear.

My husband bought these for a trip to Glacier National Park. He had been wearing Keen but thought he would try Merrell and wanting a waterproof shoe. He wore them around the house but after lightly hiking in them for one day he had severe toe pain and is clearly going to lose his toenails! We replaced them on the trip with Keens and he was pain free for the rest of the trip. Never again will we stray from Keens.

Really like these. Very comfortable. Unfortunately a year later the glue at the front is failing on one shoe and allows water to soak my foot.

My son had a pair of these in the past that came apart at the toe where the upper is glued to the sole - we replaced them and it happened again! We were hoping that it was just a fluke, but apparently not. For $110/pair - theses are NOT worth the price. So disappointing.

I am totally disappointed with these shoes. After several pairs of the non-waterproof Moab I bought a pair of these. Unacceptably tight/narrow across the toes. I gave them an honest try, wearing them on a couple of long hikes. Miserable. I hope my son can wear them, or it's down the tube. No more Moabs for me.

This shoe was horrible. The waterproofing seemed to cause the shoe to dry slowly, they and quickly took on an odor of cat urine. Waterproofing began to leak in under a month. After six months, the sole separated from the upper on both shoes. A Merrell shoe will typically last 2.5-3 years at my usage level.

These are not waterproof. My wife and I each bought a pair of these and after just a few months, we started getting wet feet. And this was just after very light exposure to water across the tips of the shoes. Too expensive to not deliver as advertised.

A real disappointment! I have worn the same size always. These rub at the front of the toe. I thought it might have been me and now that I have repeatedly worn them, I realize they just are not true to size. I should have returned them right away but since there is no half size over mens 12, I knew a thirteen would probably not fit either. I have been a Merrell fan because of the Jungle Mocs but I'll likely not buy them again. When sizes aren't accurate, mail order just doesn't work.

I was delighted with these shoes at first. My displeasure is with the waterproof claim. My first pair developed a split between the between the upper and lower components after a few months of use. Merrel did replace them. The replacement pair was water resistant for only a month. I think it is a truly comfortable shoe, but not even water resistant.

I purchased this shoe back in September 2011- my third pair of merrells (first being the jungle moc, then a hiking boot, both of which I loved). I loved this pair as well until about a year ago when the insert started pulling out up every time I took the shoes off. So before putting the pair on again, I have to reach inside and straighten out the liner every single time. Annoying, but I could deal with it. I typically wear this shoe for only about 20-25 minutes every day when I walk the dog in the morning. I wanted/needed something that would not get my feet/socks wet from the wet morning grass. This shoe worked perfectly with regards to waterproofing until about a month ago when my left foot/sock started getting soaking wet during my walks. It seems like the waterproofing has failed on my left shoe. Unacceptable. Completely dissatisfied with this shoe.
