Adorable, great lester, A+ for style, fairly comfortable I think its going to take awhile to break in, I felt a little rubbing after wearing an entire day with lots of walking, might start out with a thick sock if they are new.

I love my first pair of Troopa's! I bought the mocha leather ones. Wasn't sure I'd like the distressed look but I do. They look great with leggings. They were very comfortable but after standing and walking for 5 hours or so my feet did hurt. But I mostly wear sneakers, so maybe that's why. I'll definitely be buying more in other colors.

I recently recovered from a broken ankle, and wanted a stylish boot with ankle support. These boots are not are comfortable, stylish and supportive - at a great price!

I really like these boots. I normally wear a size 9 but ordered the 8 1/2 because I usually wear that size in SM. They fit good, just a little loose but will wear thick socks with them since it's cold.

I used to live in Toronto, and I know these would not hold up well to the heavy snow and wet mush. But I live in Orlando now and these are perfect for the mild Florida falls and winters. They also fit great. I am a short yet wide, size 8, and sometimes boots are too long and narrow for my feet, but these fit great, and eventually mold to your foot a bit. A great buy if you're looking for something cute, comfortable and somewhat practical.

Ordered these and opened the box to find one of the zippers was stuck at bottom and had an opening in the zipper like it was about to run. This is my 2nd pair of Maddens I'm having to return within a week or so due to the bad zipper. Not happy. I love the boot but can't wear the boot if zipper is messed up.

I bought these for my 13 year old daughter and she loves them. She says they are super comfy and she loves the side zipper for easy on/offs. These run true to size too.

I thought these were a great pair of shoes. I already have them in black and I needed a brown pair to go with some clothes. I got them from Zapposa no I thought it was funny that the box was a brown, plain shoe box, not white with the Steve Madden logo. Then I noticed that the bottom of the shoes are WORN. And I'm not talking just a little bit of wear. I inspected the shoes and the soles looked to be worn multiple times and even the leather on the shoe was not in brand new condition. This has never happened to me before, but I was quite upset. I sent them right back!

Bought the brown leather pair for my daughter and she loved them. After wearing them a few times, I noticed very bright scuff marks on the toes. Not a big deal, until I tried to polish them. Not sure what kind of cow produced this leather, but the boots won't absorb any polish whatsoever. Like trying to polish plastic - nothing absorbs! The "brown" dye on these boots is more of a flake of coloring, and easily scuffed off (and the color underneath is very, very light). Returned the boots. I would not recommend purchasing these at all. (But wonderful customer service by Zappos, thank you!)

Bought these boots thinking I was getting another color than the one that arrived. Sort of saddened me; however, very comfy and will keep them. True to size. I'm a 5 1/2. Thought I was getting green ones but there actually a grayish. Oh well. Like I said, a keeper.

My daughter loves these boots. True to size, soft, comfortable and trendy. They seem to be wearing well.

I bought these boots right before a trip to Europe. I'm so glad I did because I walked a ton. I wound up not using the other shoes that I brought with me because these were comfortable.

Absolutely love these. I did spray them with a waterproof repellant & took them with me to Scotland! Great with jeans & side zipper makes them so easy to put on & off!

I thought that I might not like the distressed effect on the leather, but I love it. Just trying them on, they feel comfortable and look great. I will write more after I've worn them a few times. Right now I like them so much that I want more colors!

Absolutely loved this boots! I was a little worried by reading some reviews about the comfort but I'm glad I was proved wrong. They are super comfortable and stylish. Color is perfect because it goes great with all kinds of outfits.

Super cute and I love how versatile these are and that they are perfect basics. Since I ordered the grey leather ones they are much more subtle than the black. I am very happy with my purchase.

I was really looking forward to having these boots. When they arrived I wasn't too happy about the color and reading the reviews about the sole cracking makes me a little uneasy and they feel a little tight for me so before it's too late I will be sending these back. I don't recommend these.

Love these boots! I bought the Grey Distress and they look just like the picture. I normally wear a Size 9 shoe, but 8 1/2 in SM boots. They were perfect.

Love these! Exactly what I was looking for! Feminine combat boot...not too "manly", nice worn look and the color (Olive) is a perfect Khaki that will match anything! I usually wear an 8 but the 7.5's fit perfect. Only problem is the zipper was broken when I tried them on. Need to exchange, but I know that Zappos will make it easy!

Love, love, love these boots, they are comfortable, funky and I know I'll be wearing them a lot this Fall, Winter and Spring. I also bought them in black leather, the Purple boot ran a little larger than the black for some reason. But I would stick to your own size, don't go up or down a size.

I LOVE these boots with all of my heart! They are adorable and they go with so many different styles. I have two colors so far, the black and the stone. I plan on buying at least two more colors by the end of the summer just in time for fall! I wore my black ones every day for the entire winter and did not have a single problem with them. They are extremely comfortable and stylish. I could not ask for more in a boot!

Just got these boots and their better in person than in picture. Absolutely love them. Buy them - it's worth the money.

These boots are so cute! I wear a 7.5 and felt true to size but the leather is a bit stiff and really rubbed my ankles while just trying on and wearing around the house. Worth a try but they hurt my ankle too bad to wear. Being real leather they may break in.

I've acquired a large collection of Troopas since 2011 and I currently own 7 pairs of them. I bought two (natural leather and the brown leather) back when they first came out in early 2011 and had a wood sole. The quality has not waned since, though the size altered slightly. The new rubber sole appears more durable and I actually prefer it to the wood. These shoes are nothing short of perfection (each and every color I own) and I get compliments on them often. They are all great to wear across a variety of styles- skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, tights, shorts, etc. The traditional black pair of Troopas I have had since May 2011 have held up through daily, rough wear. They have been across my college campus for two years in gravel, have been exposed to snow and rain (though this is not recommended in the slightest!), and were worn daily on a long vacation in Tokyo. Though every pair I have shows wear from being scuffed, scraped, and trekked across gravel, the basic colors can easily be restored with shoe polish. (However, I did purchase a new pair of black ones this past week to replace my originals...in preparation for the day they do give out.) I've found no causes for disappointment in any pair of Troopas I've bought; the soles will wear down over time, as expected, though none of my Troopas show signs of wear except for scuffs and scrapes from my own doing. I would suggest purchasing insoles if you plan on wearing these for a long day of walking though, for my arches ache if I wear them without my insoles. If you purchase lighters colors, take care though - if you get them wet, water stains may appear and are usually irreversible. My natural leather and light blue pair were worn outside when it began to rain...though they are meant to look distressed, the water spots are still there. I also made the mistake of wearing the natural leather ones underneath some boot cut jeans...the indigo of the denim rubbed onto the shoes and has faded over time thankfully. (However, these issues have not been very noticeable.) I purchased the blue denim leather ones yesterday and they are just as excellent as the first pair from 2011. If you are looking for a staple boot in your collection in any color, Troopas should be your first choice. I highly recommend them for a durable and fashionable shoe.
