Nice light, waterproof boots. True to size. Not super warm in very cold-winter weather, but they work very well in moderately cold - 30's F weather. Good tread for traction on slippery trails and sidewalks.

I bought these boots for my trip to Iceland November 3rd-13th. They fit well with regular merino wool socks from Eddie Bauer. If I wore really thick socks the boot did feel too tight/stuffed. The shoes did not need to be broken in, they were comfortable the first time I wore them. I walked on cobble stones, regular pavement, lava gravel and chunky lava rocks. I had no problems with comfort in the foot. However, my ankle would get sore around the top where the shoe would rub. In retrospect, I don't think I needed the ankle stability but this was my first pair of hiking boots plus first time to Iceland so wasn't sure what to expect. I walked around in the rain and snow and my feet never got wet. By the end of my trip my shoes did feel a little stretched out. I'm sure thicker socks in the future will be the remedy.

My boney bunion feet could not complain about these. They are narrow enough in the heel, great support through the toes without squeezing them too tight. I ordered four pairs of boots before my hiking vacation. In my house the night before, this is the pair that I chose. I wore them eight hours in the car the first day in them, second day a seven mile hike. I never once felt like I could not wait to get them off. They did not need to be broken in. Now that I have given them two weeks of mud, hills, rocks and even some time on a quad I would not part with these boots for any price.

This is an outstanding lightweight boot for hiking on less hazardous paths. It is very comfortable. I wear it with a pair of thin synthetic socks. On my first hike, no blisters or hot spots! There is enough room in the boot for me to add a second pair of socks in extremely cold weather. When you hike in treacherous areas with sharp rocks, you will need a more rugged boot.

At first I thought I'd love this boot, but I'm returning them because of the ankle part that never softened up.... it was stiff and hit my leg in an uncomfortable way when sitting. Loved the color and style.

Bought these shoes for a winter trip to NY. They keep my feet nice and warm in 35-50 degree weather. Would have given the shoes 5 stars but the top of them rubbed my legs/ankles causing a lot of discomfort. Was wearing them all day and doing lots of walking.

I love this boot, however. I have a slender size 6-1/2 - sometimes a size 7 foot. As per suggestions with quite a few reviews I ordered a size 7-1/2. They were huge. Plus the toe box is too wide for a more slender foot. Otherwise I love these boots and am disappointed that they will not work for me.

These are good quality good looking boots for hiking in the woods/trails, etc. They are waterproof - I sprayed them. However, they are not warm at all. If it is at all cold or snowy, my feet are frozen and miserable. I do wear them for Michigan hikes in all seasons but winter.

They will do. They are cute and feel rugged. They make my feet look small. I feel sturdy in them. I find them to be stiff around the ankles (remind me of ice skating boots). I have been wearing them 2 weeks now. There is not enough support for me so I will need to get inserts. The back logo has partially worn off I guess because my heel rubbed up against something once. I hope they last a long time and wear in a little.

I'm usually between a 7 and 7 1/2, I went up to an 8 and they fit well. These boots are ridiculously light...I put them on the scale - at a size 8 they were 395 grams (14oz), a full 8 oz (for both boots) lighter than my Lowa Renegade mid's...unfortunately a lot of that weight seems to have been taken out of the shaft of the boot. No matter how I laced them I couldn't get them tight enough around my ankles for adequate support. These would be an amazing boot for simple hikes with little risk of an ankle roll but they won't cut it for the trips I have planned.

"Tawny port" more like a purplish/pinkish dusty rose color. They were very unattractive when I first opened the box. I'm between a 7 but sometimes go up to a 7 1/2, I couldn't even get the 7s on.

I wanted to keep these so bad! I got them in Smokey Brown and they are one of the more stylish options for hiking boots. Unfortunately, I could tell that they would have given my wide feet hell - they aren't super narrow, but they rubbed my pinky toes when I was just sitting around, trying them on. Otherwise, they feel sturdy and well made, and they're light as a feather. I'm sorry to have to return them.

I read the reviews before buying, and saw that many people found the right boot to be larger than the left. To me, this was a selling feature, since my right foot is about a half size larger than the left, and a little wider also. So I ordered the boots to fit my left foot. And, like the reviews said, the boot was larger on the right, and so it fit my right foot perfectly. However, it was very tight on my left, which tells me there is almost a full size difference between the left and right boots. What a shame, because I really like them. I called Zappos to see if I could get a larger size for my left foot, but of course, that is not an option. I hope Ahnu decides to correct this mistake in the future.

I loved the way this boot felt in every way except the toe box was narrow from top to bottom, which I thought unusual. Usually a toe box is just too narrow or not wide enough on me. This was wide enough but squeezed my toe from top to bottom. I loved the boot and even left them of for a while to make sure and after about 15 minutes my toes were numb. You can actually see the shallow toe box in the photo. My feet aren't unusually thick. I have always worn a standard width. I'm a retired Flight Attendant so comfort in shoes/boots is everything. Beautiful construction and no rough edges inside the boot. Leather padded upper is like butter. If you have skinny forefoot, this is your boot. I ordered two boots, both size 8 US WMS and this one said European 39 and the one I'm keeping said European 40. Not sure how much of a difference that is. This one is made in Italy and the one I'm keeping was made in Germany.

These are gorgeous boots, and they appear to be well made. They fit great around the heel and were snug but not binding around the ankle. The length was just right. I am sending them back because they are snug across the ball of the foot and there is no way to loosen the laces across the bottom. That's one of ways Keen boots have it all over many of the others....the laces go down further towards the toes, and you can really widen it up as your foot swells. So, too bad. They are very pretty boots...if you don't have wide feet.

I've had these boots for just shy of two months now. Have to say I had serious doubts, but also have to say I've totally fallen in love with these boots. They have 200 hiking miles in so far in addition to being used for chores outside. It is Winter here and they have kept my feet dry in all kinds of snow. They do not grip ice well. They are easy to get on and off and lightweight. They do alright as far as keeping my feet warm goes, but I'm sure this would vary from person to person as well as be effected by your choice of socks. I wear a size 8.5 in Adidas running shoes and the size 8.5 in this boot fit perfect. All in all, pleasantly surprised.

I sized up a half size for these, as other reviewers suggested, from a 10 to a 10.5, but they ended up being too big. I have a narrow foot, (AA) so maybe that was part of it. I ended up going out to a local retailer and buying them in a 10. Which is still a little roomy, but much better than the 10.5. When I add my 3/4 orthotics the 9.5 would be a tiny bit small, so I went for the size 10. (I also don't usually wear thick hiking socks, just a regular white Hanes sock.)

Living in Idaho at 6200 ' we need warm and dry footwear. Boots are basically worn 7 months a year. I got these based on reviews, and I love the purple color. The only issue I have is that they feel hard and not at all cushioned, and just barely enough room for a medium pair of Smartwool sox. I am testing them in the house, and already feel tightness in the forefoot and discomfort at the ankle where the collar of the boot hits. I'm leaning toward returning, despite loving the cute style and wonderful purple color, and the price is very high if they don't fit perfectly.

I have low arches, narrow feet, and suffer from plantar fasciitis. These are my work boots for 5 hours a day while walking and driving (which involves climbing in and out of a van) in the Pacific NW. I did add some plantar fasciitis insoles bought at the local drugstore for $7. The end result is a boot that provides excellent support, good climate control for my toes, a snug shock absorbing cradle for my heels, and of course waterproof. Despite getting drenched in Seattle downpours the leather dries quickly and amazingly there is no telltale watermark. I love the fit so much that I am ordering a second pair for dog-walking and hikes in the city. I just wish that there were more neutral color options, and am bummed they no longer make the (all brown) coffee bean.

These well-made boots are perfect except for a small bulge that hits my right little toe exactly the wrong way. The left boot has the same bulge but isn't a problem. So sad I can't wear them.

This is a nice boot. It is flexible and waterproof. The purple color is fun! More flexibility probably means that it won't hold up if you do a lot of hiking. I have a narrow foot and the flexibility allows me to cinch it up tighter. I usually wear a 39 or 8.5. I had to get these in a 9.

I've used this boot for short hikes. I like the look of it, I like the fabric, but it has much less cushioning in the sole and less arch support than I expected.

I bought these after developing metetarsalgia, forefoot pain. They have plenty of room in the toe box and good arch support and padding, but for my condition I do replace the insert with an orthodic, and sometimes add a forefoot pad for long day hikes. The waterproofing is excelent, and the colors are fabulous!

I had tried these shoes on in a different color in the same size (9) at an REI store a few days before purchasing them. Since I was buying them for a 6 week trip to Romania, I knew they needed to be worn a bit around the house before hand. I was instructed to buy the shoes in a half size larger to make sure I left room for my feet to swell and for proper socks. After wearing them for about 20 minutes indoors, I noticed that the seam on the toes, right above the area of my toes' first joints, was pressing in a really uncomfortable way. Even with a larger size, I normally wear an 8/8.5 and these were a 9, when I would walk the seam would bend and press painfully onto this joint area on my right foot. I think these boots are cute and they were comfy other than that. Perhaps the pair I had was flawed, but I can't trust that this pain would go away once the boots were worn in. A week into a trip in Europe to realize they won't get more comfy is too risky!

They are very comfortable and didn't need any breaking in at all. I went on a two hour hike the first day they arrived and they were a dream. I have two laments: 1) they are not entirely waterproof and 2) the traction could be a bit better. All-in-all I'm pleased with them, though!
