Was looking to replace an LL Bean walking boot. Ahnu Montara boot exceeded my expectations. A wee snug on first try on, but within an hour, perfect fit. Keeps feet warm, dry & well supported. No need for heavy socks! Have been wearing the boot every day for a month on 4+mile speed walks & no issues yet.

Great looking boots - I got the dark red color and these are the best looking hiking boots I have ever had. Generally comfortable with very little break in time. However, the soles could/should be heavier. You can feel the rocks in the trail, even though my feet felt comfortable and protected. If you are a Princess and the Pea kind of person, you might not like that.

I love this boot! First pair of Ahnus, and I know it won't be my last. Great fit for me, right out of the box. The design of the back/heel area (genius!) offers support with lovely flexibility, and the leather cuff is so comfortable. They keep my feet cozy and dry, and provide great traction on hilly hikes. Thanks, Ahnu!

Love them! I hit the bull's eye with this selection. Fit well in heel and instep for good support, a little extra in toe box to accommodate for heavy socks. They have been tested in zero degree weather and snow. A+.

Much like another reviewer, I have a narrow heel, wide forefoot and wear orthotics. Ordered size 11, true to size. This is the most comfortable lightweight hiking boot I've ever owned. Get a lot of compliments on the look, too. I bought the indigo/citron and love the unique color. The little bit of citron trim does show dirt but it's not a big deal. The tiny D-rings do twist around; again, not that big of a deal.

I bought these boots mainly because of the color. I was thrilled to see a hiking boot in port! They are wonderful for light to moderate hiking. I wore them for a steep climb 1st time out and had no blisters or "break in" issues. They are very padded and soft. You'd probably want a more rigid boot if you were carrying a heavy back pack, however. I usually wear a size 8 shoe and bought a 9 in the boot. This is typical for me with boots and running shoes.

After trying on many hiking shoes, I settled on these. Yes, I am glad I did. I am a size 10.5-11 and usually purchase 11s because most shoes are not available in 10.5. After reading the review that mentioned sizing up, i was concerned that the 11 might not even fit. Well, it was big, to long and the toe box was huge. I exchanged for a 10.5 hoping the toe box would shrink along with the length and it did. They fit perfectly. As far as colors go, my first pair was in the blue suede. To me it was a bit of a dull blue. The next pair was the more traditional smokey brown- I love them.

I must have tried virtually every women's hiking boot there is on the market, and this beat out even much pricier competition. Whoever designed these shoes did an excellent job, not least in providing true half sizes - these boots are made for real feet! They fit like a dream and are so comfortable. I usually take a 10, but found the 10.5 to fit perfectly with merino wool socks. And no hot feet here. They are leather (and partially leather lined) and waterproof, though not hot like other waterproof boots due to the 'event' breathable fabric lining. Top notch!

I hike in all kinds of terrain. Love this boot. Would/will buy it again. I have a pair of Ahnu shoes I love as well. Very comfortable.

I love my new boots. They're easy to lace up, light weight and comfy. No breaking in was required. I have size 10C feet and they fit me just right. I have very high arches and use my own orthotics so I really can't say anything about the boot's arch support.

My second day with my new Ahnu boots...I am looking at getting in to more hiking and walking and needed something that works for a variety of conditions. I am so very happy with my choice. The color the style, but mostly the feet. You would have thought I have been trying to break them in for months...even on the first day...felt great!

Comfortable, warm and good grip while hiking on moderate slopes. These are not climbing boots! A good investment. Stylish enough to wear in town if needed.

Love this boot. Reliable hiking boot for the day hiker -- and the blue looks great with jeans.

Super cute and super comfy. I ordered these and returned them only because I thought I needed a different type of boot for the trip I was embarking upon. But super comfy.

These boots have solved my problem of aching joints and stiff lower back after hiking! The cushioning is great, and so is the support both around the ankle and under the arch. The only concern I have is that they do not have a waterproof liner - only the leather is waterproof which really means that water will seep in eventually - but I have not put the waterproofing to the test, so I could be wrong on that score. I would recommend this boot to anyone who wants really comfortable hiking boots, that also looks cool! I got a lot of compliments on these.

Wore these on a short vacation to Montana. Knowing that snow would be coming I wanted something that would keep my feet warm and dry and these Montara boots turned out to be an excellent choice. I typically wear an 10.5 Wide but tried the 11 standard width and they worked out great (so far). Did have to break them in for the first day or so but I could tell after only a couple hours that once broke in they would be comfortable. Glad I gave them a try. Also, they are made very well. The materials and workmanship are much nicer than most other brands I have tried (including Keen, Merrell etc...)

I love these shoes. They are lightweight, comfortable, and feel like sneakers, but are sturdy and waterproof. The color and style is great as well -- I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten while wearing them. I loved them so much, I got the Astra Aura and the tawny port.

Wow, right out of the box comfort. So far I've only worn these around the house, but purchased them for some upcoming trips and hiking. Looks like I'm not going to need all the time to break them in! They also look pretty good which will be nice for traveling when I don't want to look like I just stepped off a mountain trail.

Great boot. Did a western trip and hiked Grand Canyon , Bryce, etc. Only got to wear it a few times before the trip. I was worried the "breaking in" period would be bad, but no problems. Be sure to get good socks too. Smartwool plus these = no blisters.

These are great lightweight hikers that feel like sneakers and have excellent ankle support! I took them out for a six hour hike up about 3,500 feet in boulder strewn land and they did not let me down!

Not only are these cute but also very comfortable, great if you are looking for a not too heavy boot with support yet a fair amount of flexibility in the sole.

Great boot! I will be buying another pair. Wore them right out of the box for everyday for three weeks and no blisters! Soft, lightweight and very comfortable! Good arch and waterproof. Even my husband bought a pair in men's and loves them as well.

A great boot. Very lightweight, like wearing a sneaker. They provide nice support, but they also bend when I step, unlike other hiking boots which have felt like heavy stiff boxes around my feet. I have a very narrow heel. The boots hug my heel, though I am curious to see if they will stretch with use. They're pretty well reinforced with rubber, so there's a good chance they won't. This is one of only two boots that have actually fit my narrow heel. They are way more comfortable than any hiking boot I've ever tried on. Not bad looking either. The only thing is that I ordered a 10, which is the size I typically wear in other shoes. I've found that for hiking boots I need to go a 1/2 size up no matter what to keep my toes from bumping the end on downhill hikes.

These boots are ballin'. Comfortable right out of the box, wide toe box, very very light. Usually I loathe paying full price for stuff, but these boots were worth it. They work well as motorcycle boots, too.

The Montara Boot is lightweight and yet gives you all the support you need. The shoe feels comfortable right from the start and there was no need to "wear it in" first to feel truly comfortable. Great boot, I will take mine to Peru hiking. Highly recommend it to anyone.
