Have probably put 15 - 20 miles on these so far, 10 of those on an AT day hike a couple of weekends ago. They seem to run big, and I kept them anyway, since I bought them for cooler weather and will wear thicker socks, but on an extended (about a mile) steep paved downhill to my car, my toes got a little banged up sliding and hitting the end of the shoe. I had no problems on the hilly parts of the trail though. I was comfortable crossing over slippery rocks. These boots are amazingly lightweight, they may be lighter than my trail running shoes. They are both flexible and supportive. Very comfortable. So far, I am happy with them.

Most comfortable hiking boot I've found, ever. (tho my hiking might be considered moderate). I can walk in these all day (boulder fields, steep paths, mud, hot to 50 degrees or so, some frozen snow) and my feet feel great; dry, comfortable, ready for more. Excellent fit for me. My feet run a little wide through ball of foot and i have a high arch. No discomfort whatsoever. I did half size-up to accommodate hiking socks. Lightweight but very durable. Great ankle support without stiffness. i don't feel like i've carried an extra 5 pounds around on my feet all day. I hiked in these many many times and no real sign of wear yet, other than puppy chewing off the tab in back - so used that as an excuse to get a second pair in another color. The colors are ok, but the comfort is well worth it - so rated overall 5 stars.

These are the first pair of hiking boots I have ever purchased, and I couldn't be happier. I did notice that on occasion debris from the trail would get in, but it might have something to do with the way I was walking (towards the end of the hike) or the tightness of my laces.

I have nothing but good things to say about Zappos! I have ordered shoes, well usually boots from fashion to hiking, in the afternoon and received them the next day! Tell me what other sites will do that for you! As for returns, again nothing but praise. No questions, no hassles and it's all free! Thank you Zappos!

Highly recommended. They are light and very comfortable. I did not need to break them in, they were perfect from the minute I put them on. I felt they made my footing very stable on some treacherous trails. The purple color is also really fun.

Comfortable right out of the box. Usually wear a 6.5 and order a 7 per previous reviews. Plenty of room for warm hiking socks. Fits great. Very pleased.

My first order was a complete success! These boots fit! They are perfect. But the service was even more incredible. I happened to mention to Shea that I was buying the boots as a birthday present to myself. Then two fantastic things happened. First, I got the boots within 20 hours of when I spoke with Shea and place the order. And second, the next day I received a lovely birthday card in the mail from Shea. I was delighted! I am recommending Zappos to everyone I know. Thanks for making me feel so special!

The most comfortable hiking boot I have ever purchased. Excellent stability, great ankle support and traction. I hiked all over Maui in these, without breaking them in first, and whether it was volcanic craters or bamboo forests that could only be accessed by slogging up mud covered mountainsides these boots held up. My feet stayed dry in the rainforest and were not overly warm in the craters.

These boots fit my feet really well even with my orthotic insert. They are waterproof and very comfortable, especially with smartwool socks.

I found these in a store and they did not carry size 11 and did not seem interested in seeing if they could get them. I came home looked at Zappos they had one size 11 left in stock. I called up had a nice laugh with my sales girl and I was wearing the shoes the next afternoon. Zappos provided wonderful customer service!

I was looking for a boot with a thinner sole and more flexibility than a sturdy backpacking boot. I have a bad knee and prefer the feel of a boot with bit more give. I tried on many pairs and as soon as I put these on I knew they were right for me. I am a size 9 with a wide foot, so occasionally need a 9.5. The 9 fit perfectly with room for thick hiking socks. So far I have worn these on a couple of shorts hikes and snowshoeing. The are really comfortable and the blue color is great!

Super light weight and flexible sole. Probably not right for heavy hiking or someone who needs lots of under foot support or cushion. I like the ground feel and minimalness of this boot. Toe box is roomy and great for longer toes. Not much arch support, but it would easily accommodate an insole. The seam over the ball of the foot was in just the wrong spot for me, but I may have kept them if money wasn't an issue and I wasn't on the hunt for my perfect field work boot (Oboz Bridger mens wide 9.5). Great style, and still look good in an 11. Fit my wide foot well, but also allowed for tight lacing to lock my heel down. I love the Muir green color, but may have opted for the brown to get the leather instead of nubuck, as it would last longer.

I'm not a seasoned hiker but my property in CO is rocky with a heavy slope and we get around 90" of annual snowfall so...I needed some decent hiking boots to get around. Right away I knew my true size wasn't going to work if I dared to wear a sock but a half size up fit great. They offer great ankle support (which is great for amateurs like me) but also flexibility without feeling too heavy or bulky. They are snow tested and my feet stayed warm and dry. No break in required, no rubbing, and actually cute!

I purchased the Montara II waterproof hiking shoe several years ago so I ordered this boot in the same size. This version ran at least a half size too big so unfortunately I had to return it.

These boots are wonderful for short hikes of a few hours. I have high arches and luckily the boots do not rub on the top of my feet even with thick wool socks. I wouldn't mind a bit more arch support, but that's because I'm accustomed to that sort of feel. They kept my feet dry during a hike in light snow and provide good traction on slippery rocks and leaves.

Ordered a half size up (I'm a 6), and it still felt tight and narrow in the footbed. Otherwise felt well made and very comfortable. Not very stylish but they're practical

My first pair of hiking boots ever, so I did a lot of online research before selecting these. They were kind of a compromise in terms of looks, function, and price. I would prefer a more traditional leather boot to the newer technology-driven sneaker style hiking boot, but I wasn't ready to invest just yet. These have the tech materials but don't look *too* athletic due to the brown leather and mid rise. I wanted ankle coverage to keep debris out and because I hike in areas with rattlesnakes. The lacing allows for adjusting the stability of the ankle, but I wish the ankle part of the boot was less bulky. These seem true to size, but I followed recommendations to order 1/2 size up to allow for hiking socks and swelling. Truly no real break in time; I wore a couple times around the house just to loosen up before taking them out on the trail. I haven't had them long enough to speak to long term wear. Reasonably priced, good performance so far, so-so looks.

The fit was true to size and comfortable, but rubs on my heel and the sole is too rigid causing blisters under my toes. I have fairly wide feet (toe area) and a very narrow heel.

I wanted to love these boots based on the great reviews but they just do not work for my foot. The footbed is too narrow for me.

I used them directly for a 3 days backpacking and more after. Very convenient and light. Fully satisfied of my purchase. However, didn't have a chance to the test waterproof quality. Bought half size above my usual.

So happy with these boots! These boots are extremely warm, plus waterproof. They were a little stiff when I first wore them but but after a few times they are now are very comfy and conformi to my foot. They have solid footing for walking in the snow and over ice.The wine color is great and goes with just about anything.

I got this boot because the Lowa hikers I bought were too stiff and it was hard for me to keep my footing hiking down hill because I couldn't feel the terrain underfoot. These have more feel to them so I can hike easier in them. Also right now I am in the Adirondacks and my feet are warm in -5F. The only problem I had when I first wore them was I didn't have a thick sock on so I got skin abrasions just above my ankles wear the boot rubbed on me. So a very comfortable and lightweight boot. I got them because I love my Ahnu hiking shoe which I wear going to and from work in the city. I don't know if I will ever wear my Lowas again.

These boot are very cute and they fit pretty well, but I knew I wasn't going to get used to the feel of the stiff boot against the back of my leg. I think they are just a little higher than what I am used to. And I won't need to wear them often enough to get used to them, so I am returning them.
