These boots are true to fit and super light. Not like my old hiking boots from 15 yrs ago. They take some time to break in, so don't plan on wearing them out of the box.

I pulled these luscious boots out of the box, slipped my feet right in, and felt like Dorothy. These beauties are the hiking equivalent of ruby red slippers. And ohhh, they are so comfortable. The toe box looks narrow, but doesn't feel narrow. I love the protective height covering my ankles. Zappos, well, the only company who has ever loved me up like you do is Keen. (Y'all must be cousins.) Thanks, Ahnu. Thanks, Zappos. Sorry, Keen. You stopped making the Oregon PCT for women and I had to jump ship. I'll miss you, but not that much now that Ahnu's stepped up for the next dance.

I am so happy with these! I have narrow feet along with a weak ankle from breaking it a few years back. These have excellent ankle and arch support, and hug my feet nicely. There is still room in the toe box if I for some reason needed to double up socks. I am a happy camper - or hiker should I say?

Nothing short of terrific. I have owned a pair of Swiss hiking boots for 25 years. No desire to make a switch but, my hiking boots were both too heavy and were very worn. I had them previously reconditioned to save them,I need to change, but fear set in. I am a major hiker. I read reviews and purchased Ahnu Montara boot. Wore them around the house and then went to Europe and hiked 50 miles. The boots are a wow! Light weight, comfortable, great support. Not one blister. I love them! Hung up my 25 year old boots on the wall, and now my Montara's are my only hiking boots!

Needed hiking boots (because I have never owned a pair) for an upcoming trip to Europe, so I settled on these. I am really pleased with the fit, feel, and style of these boots. Excited to take them on my journey and "road test" them.

BEST HIKING BOOT I EVER WORE. I just bought my 2nd pair after 5 years of wearing out another pair. Glad they're still available.

I love these hiking boots and I would totally recommend them. They do run a little wide, but for me that is a good thing because my feet swell a bit when hiking. The ankle support area is a little stiff so I would recommend breaking them in by wearing them around the house before using them on your first long hike. They are light, comfortable, and provide support all of the foot and ankle. I loved them so much that I also bought a pair of their regular shoes for every day use.

Very light and comfortable right out-of-the-box. They survived the first big downpour while I was flagging on the highway. I did get a little wet right where the laces were, but that's right where my rain pants hit and all the water was just pouring off my rain pants onto my boots. Love them and would purchase them again!

Being a woman of big foot proportion it's tough to find foot wear that fits well and looks stylish! And I have to say these hiking boots work wonders with my feet, comfort wise as well, they feel like I'm walking on moss in a dense forest and after a long days work or hike in them my feet feel like they were massaged the whole time! And just a tip for any lady who thinks her foot size is a 10 1/2 (like me) still get the size 11 because otherwise they run on the small side and they sell out of size 11 forest suede pretty fast and I had to wait for a re-order but the peeps at Zappos set up an email alert for me when they had more in stock. And they were super friendly and helpful over the phone. So long story short, I love these shoes! And this brand!

This is an update after wearing them on a 4 mile hike. The collar rubbed the inside of my right ankle and created a sore that is just now healed. Make sure to wear high enough socks to cover the collar of this boot or the same could happen. This is just an FYI, still love the boot. My toes of right foot were paining near the end of the hike as well, but I will assume it's due to a bunion on the right foot. Hope to enjoy these more & more before my trip abroad. The reason I purchased them...for long walking.

I've bought those shies for our trip to the Alps in August, so for now I've walked with them for a while and they are comfortable. I love the color. I'll add another review after coming back from the trip.

These boots aren't even as ugly as most hiking boots. They are my go-to casual winter shoe and they're really warm, even in sub-zero temps. They might be too warm for hiking in the summer. The lining in the green color is super cute!

These boots are amazing. First they are so cool looking. They are lightweight but sturdy. The fit is true to size and there was zero break-in period. I've put about 30 miles in days on them but have yet to hit a rough trail.

This is my second pair of these boots, the first pair having lasted through three years and 27 countries. I love them so much -- they're stylish, lightweight, and work great as motorcycle/travel boots. Thanks to the reviewer who said that they're now running a half size small -- I ordered both the 7 (my usual) and the 7.5, and went with the 7.5 because it fit more appropriately with hiking socks and felt more comfortable in general.

Like hiking on marshmallows! I even wear them in the garden. Super light and instantly comfortable. I normally wear a size 9.5 and got a size 10 in the Astral Aura. Gives me room for a thicker sock.

These are the first hiking boots I've ever loved. I think they are very true-to-size, at least at the upper end of sizes. I am a 9.5 and 10 was too big, and 9.5 fits great even with my thickest socks. Very comfortable right out of the box and beautiful in person just like the picture (I have the mint chocolate chip color). Love - well worth the investment.

Very pleased with these boots. They are as light as a feather, stylish, and easy to put on and slip off. The toe box is also roomy so your feet don't feel squished when you wear a heavier sock and the insole is removable so I was able to insert my orthotics. I got the astral aura color and they are very attractive!

Best boots I have ever worn. Comfortable from day one, they needed no breaking in time. Really nice looking. I am considering buying another pair just to have. I would hate not to be able to find them again.

An amazingly light yet supportive boot! I had Vasque for years but my last pair did not hold up well so I went looking for a different brand...and I found Ahnu.

Love these. I ordered a 10.5, usually wear a 10. I'm going hiking in the mountains and will be wearing fully padded wool socks. Got is superb. These are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They offer solid support but don't seem to require break-in period. I have a wide foot with a high arch and I couldn't be more pleased.

These boots are amazing. I walk 1.5 miles per day to and from my office on snowy, icy, or slushy sidewalks in winter. They are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I can wear them for multiple days without any pain or discomfort. After a few days, the tops do tend to rub the backs of my legs, but I think that's just because I wear cheap socks.

This is the most spectacularly comfortable hiking shoe I've ever had. Lightweight, easy to lace, perfect fit for me in a size 9. I wear 8 1/2- 9, 39 in Euro. Straight out of the box hiked 5 miles today while fly fishing. It's after 6 PM and I'm home but they are still on my feet.

I'm not a hardcore hiker, but I do have two dogs that get twice daily walks, often in town, but also through local parks with smooth dirt (though frequently muddy) paths. These boots are perfect for that. They are comfortable, provide just enough support and are waterproof even in deep muck. I wore them once on a more rigorous hike (with rougher, rockier terrain) and the bottoms of my feet hurt at the end of the day - there is not much cushioning in the footbed. For clean path and sidewalk "hiking" they are perfect. Do buy extra shoe laces, however. The grommets are sharp and seem to shred the laces quickly. I have two pair - the purple (love them) and the smooth black (my "good" pair) and it's happened with both pair. Still, I think I'll get another pair just in case Ahnu decides to discontinue them.

I'm a recess monitor and I spend 4 hours on my feet. Prior to buying these Ahnu boots, I had foot pain every day from an old injury. Now I am comfortable and ibuprofen free. I recommend these boots to anyone who needs a lot of support (perhaps you have a high arch like me), plus they're stylish. I am now buying the lowrise version of these boots.
