This boot is awkward looking. As others have pointed out, large calves do not mean you have large ankles. I love the original tall Hunters, but they don't fit. Wish they sold adjustable Hunters in the US.

Really cute and a great height for me, but VERY big in the ankle area. Couldn't keep them on.

I wanted these boots so badly and was so excited to get them finally! I am very disappointed in them. I got the glossy. I have worn them three times and by the second time, the gloss/shine was totally gone and they are so scuffed up. They look awful. For the price, they should hold up better. They also don't fit great around my calf and I don't have large calves. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on these. Very disappointing.

This boot fits great for women with shorter and wider legs than average. They go great with skinny jeans and keep feet dry and for about a week. Every single pair of Hunter boots I have owned get tiny holes in them. Now, whenever I wear my boots in the rain or snow or slush my feet get soaked. I do like how the boots look but I highly recommend that you don't buy these shoes if you have to walk through feet of snow, inches of rain, or slush puddles.

I had purchased a non gloss and gloss pair of these boots. I love both but got the gloss because of the finish on the boots. In the end the gloss pair after one wear looked the same as the non gloss. I had purchased both of the Hunter cleaning products and they continue to look non-gloss. I love Zappos but these boots are a letdown.

I received a defective pair. Looked great out of the box, but after I wore them, one of the boots glazed/hazed over. I washed it as instructed, but couldn't get it back to a normal gloss. This only happened on one of the two boots, which made them look silly. I've returned the purchase and will try again with non-glossy.

Horrible! They have that terrible "blooming" and look old, used and not worth the money. Returned them with much disappointment!

I read other reviews about these boots running large and to order a size down. This was not the case for me. I am an 8-8.5 and the 7 was very small. It fit but would have been too tight and uncomfortable with socks. I returned the 7 and ordered the 8, which fits perfectly. I have runner calves, so the Huntress is a good fit. They are a bit roomy around the ankles, but it's nothing that makes them uncomfortable or odd-fitting. I measured the circumference of my calves before deciding between Original & Huntress. The 8s had a strange white coating all over them which would not wipe off. They didn't even look black and there was no gloss at all. I am returning these and waiting on a new 8. I love the boots and hope the third time is a charm. Props to Zappos customer service and excellent return/exchange policy!

Love these boots! I am 5'2" and have short legs...these boots are the perfect height and not too snug in my muscle-bound calves! Super cute with tall socks and leggings! Not to mention how comfy they are! I bought these for an upcoming trip to rainy Seattle, but I'm already wearing them for my daily running around!

Overall I love these boots it's looks exactly like the picture maybe just a tad bit lighter after reading some of the reviews a lot of people said size down but I just ordered my regular size which is a 9 and they fit perfectly for me will be ordering from zappos again they're fast.

I love my Hunter boots! This is my second pair (I also own plain black adjustable back ones!). I am an athletic build and have some pretty muscular calves and these fit perfectly! The color is exactly what I was expecting (I have red).

These boots are perfect, but not without a bit of trial and error. Zappos could not have been more helpful in taking back boots that were the wrong size and sending replacements that were the right size. Fantastic customer service!

I am an average 5'4" height and atheletic build but not super muscley, typically size 8.5 or 9 shoe. I tried on the size 8 and 9 in Hunter boots and went with the 8, still roomy enough for thick socks but not falling off. I tried on the Original and Huntress and went with the Huntress. I like the taller look of the Original, but it hit right at the bottom of my knee cap and I think the rubbing would have been irritating over time. Also, the narrower opening looked okay with leggings, but with even a little bunching of jeans at the knee it looked frumpy. The Huntress' wider opening looks good with jeans and the shorter height (but not short) was a better fit for my legs. They are perfect for walking my kids to the bus or a date night, love the versatility. They are not great for long periods in the snow, but for quick trips around town I love them. Now I want red too!

I love these boots! I wanted Hunter boots but the Originals were way too tall for me (5'3"). I even tried kids and they were a bit to small. Finally, these fit perfectly! Zappos was great with all my returns as well. I am usually 7-7.5 so I ordered 7 and they fit perfectly.

I love these boots. They do fit a little bigger then marked. I normally wear a 9, but bought the 8. The 8 fits well, but probably wouldn't if I were to pair them with the thick Hunter boot socks. The huntress fit my thicker calfs well! Great buy!!

These are fantastic. I couldn't find a rain boot that worked for me. Being a 6/7 a size 12 and 5 ft 1 in tall boots always cut into my calf. I tried the kids, the original tall and finally the huntress and it was love. I'm usually a size 6/6.5 but with a desire for more room in the shaft for jeans and cushy socks I went a size up to a 7. I was able to place a supportive insole since the boots support is not superior (not a surprise to me) wear thick socks and wear skinny jeans with these. I never want to take them off. If you're petite and not stick thin and thought there would never be a boot for you, this is it! I hope to have these for many years to come and have found there prefect for post blizzard puddles and as super easy to slip on and off.

I love these boots! I wear a size nine and got a nine they fit perfect over my jeans with or without boot socks and there very comfortable! I walked all over in New York in the freezing cold and snow these boots kept my feet warm and they were comfortable!

Love the boots. I also own them in the Tall Black (the original not the Huntress). If you're looking for a slightly shorter boot, this is the one. I'm 5'7" and the Tall Hunter Boot hits me below the knee but if you have short legs they may not work for you. The Huntress is roomier in the calf too. I find they fit true to size. I ordered a 7 my normal size they fit perfectly. I wish they made the Huntress in more colors, I would love the Sunshine Yellow. In my opinion you can never have too many pair of Hunter boots.

I love the boots! My granddaughter loves them. She can wear an 8½ so we ordered a 9. They were too large so I called Zappos. They emailed me a mailing label. Shipped an 8 the same day! I received them in two days and mailed the 9 back. I love Hunter boots as well as Zappos! I will use them for everything!

I have large calves, and these fit great. Tough to find rain boots that fit. I did order a size down from my regular shoe size. That was good advice that I'm glad I followed.

Perfect for a short girl! I love, love, love these boots. I spent many hours online researching Hunter rain boots and specifically the original tall and huntress. I normally wear a 7.5 or 8, so I ordered a 7 in the Huntress and the original tall. The Huntress was the perfect height and fit while the original tall was a little snug in the foot and calf, and was too tall for my leg! I returned the Original Tall and am loving my Hunter Huntress rain boots!
