I wear this shoe to work daily. I am on my feet and need a shoe to work as hard as I do.

The Beast is an excellent shoe. It is extremely comfortable and offers the support needed to log several miles a day. I would recommend it to anyone.

I purchased my Beasts as a running shoe for a 5k and a half marathon that I will be competing in. This is my second pair of Beasts that I have purchased, my first being in 08. The styling of the new shoe is much improved as is the cushioning, not that the others lacked much. So far I have put 20 plus training miles on the new shoes and my knees and back thank me. I normally where a 4E shoe but only had to get a 2E and also had to get a 12 when I normally wear an 11. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who overpronates.

These shoes are awesome! I am overweight and training very hard. I had an injury these were the only shoes that made it bearable. I will own nothing else for training other than the Brooks line.

After trying shoes in the motion control category from five other brands, the Brooks Beast is hands down the best shoe I've put on. I'm big for a runner, and everything else just hasn't cut it. I also have what I can only describe as wide duck shaped feet, and these just fit amazing. I'm looking forward to running again now, and I wish I had invested in these sooner. Don't let the price deter you from these if you're serious about finding the right shoe. If your feet aren't happy, the rest of you won't.

I'm really not a runner, but these are by far the nicest, most comfortable, well built, longest lasting and coolest looking shoes I've ever bought. I have bad knees, and the cushion & support are absolutely top notch ! Buy 'em, you won't be disappointed.

Wow! I have worn a competing motion control shoe for several years. There is NO comparison to the BEAST. It is hands down, bar none, the best. I have FLAT feet and use a custom orthotic so I cannot really comment on arch support, but my feet and knees feel SO much better in this shoe. Will buy their Walker now… my knees have not felt this good in years!!!

Brooks Beast is the only shoe that my husband's orthopedic surgeon recommends for him. Husband in 300+ pounds. Husband will not even try on another shoe. We both order at Zappos because they have the size my husband needs and we love the service and speed. Will probably never go to a shoe store again. We order this shoe at least once a year.

This is my third pair of the Beast but the first one I've bought on Zappos. I was introduced to this shoe at a sporting goods speciality store that had a wide variety of running shoes. This is a great show for anyone the over pronates and/or has near flat feet (like me). I was able to get the extra wide version I was looking for and received the shoe in two days due to a free upgrade to my shipping (thank you Zappos!). I plan to buy all of my replacements from Zappos from now on until they're discontinued.

These sneakers are the best I have ever owned. They are light yet sturdy,,strong though pliable. Put them in the wash comes out like new and undamaged. Truly a remarkable shoe. You may have to get a size larger for a true fit but this is true for a great many sneaks.

I had had shin splints for years. I bought a pair of Brooks Beasts in 2003. I've bought 2 pairs a year every year since and have had no problems with my shins since. Those looking for light weight running shoes would be wise to look elsewhere. Those who need stability and aren't real big fans of shin splints cannot go wrong with the Brooks Beast.

Very good shoes! These keep your feet stable, especially made for people that pronate.

Let me start by saying I never leave reviews for anything, until now! I have very wide flat feet plus I'm on the hefty side around 240 and these shoes make me feel like I'm walking on clouds! I run an average of 2 miles a day on rocks and sand (Iraq) and these shoes make it feel like nothing. I've always wanted to enjoy running but my feet always hurt so bad it would literally stop me in my tracks, not now! I really can not say enough good things about these shoes, simply amazing! Also they are darker in person, I think they look a lot better in person.

I am a recreational triathlete who has significant pronation (my feet are as flat as you can get!). Was using a stability shoe (Asics) and read that people raved about this shoe for motion control to help with moderate to severe pronators. Well. it is all true. This shoe is great! Just looking at it you can see the difference in the amount of materials used on the in-step to stabilize the foot. I did not find the shoe too heavy and plan to use it for training and race day. It is allowing me to train harder this year as I have had little to no knee pain. Now it may be a bit bulky for those used to a streamlined shoe, but don't let looks fool you and this running shoe is all business!

This is an excellent shoe especially if your a larger runner and you need very good support I have had other running shoes and feet and legs got tired and hurt, I even had plantar fasciitis and then I went to the local running store and I talked to the owner who has been a long time runner, he looked at my walking and running and told me to get the Beast and also to get a pair of the powerstep insoles for my regular shoes and I haven't had any problems since even the fasciitis is gone.

I am 6'5 at 275 lbs and walk in these shoes 30+ miles/week. They last forever! I've gone through 4 pairs of these (or their predecessors) in the past 3 years. Fantastic shoe!

I had plantar fasciitis (heel pain) and fairly flat feet (over-pronation). These shoes have been like walking on air for me! Honestly, I have tried many different sneakers, and had my doubts when these were recommended to me by a friend. I have no doubt anymore. The shoes for the amount of cushioning and support is actually lighter weight than I expected. My feet don't hurt, and I feel that after 1 month of wearing them I'm almost 100% pain free even in other shoes that aren't as therapeutic. I actually hadn't realized how bad my feet were hurting until I walked/ran around in these. It felt so good I kept going. I have been enjoying walking a lot. I live in NYC and walk everywhere. I jogged 12 (twelve) miles on Saturday too. No pain. My gait is straighter as well. Go a half size larger than you think. Like many others I had to exchange for a bigger size. Zappos was awesome with their exchange policy/customer service. Overnight delivery for the replacement pair to me. I don't write a lot of reviews, but thought these deserved it. I haven't tried the Brooks Addiction 9, but hear that they offer similar support in a lighter package for a bit less if you're game. Last point, someone mentioned finding these for less on Amazon. I found some as well, but they were the older version. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.
