Always wanted to try this shoe, now I have. The toe box is too narrow. The shoe is listed as EE width, but it isn't much wider than the D you find in a store. Maybe an E width, but I doubt it. Too tight for comfort. Sticking with New Balance.

Good show. Expensive. 5th pair of Beasts that I have had and all wear super quick, especially on the balls of the feet where the rubber wears quickly to expose the screen mesh. I have only had this pair two weeks walking 3 to 4 miles per day and they are already breaking down.

I bought this shoe because I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis. I tried it and thought it was comfortable, but it was too wide. I have narrow feet and I felt my feet were moving around in the shoe too much. The Brooks Addiction 10 is better for narrow feet.

These Brooks are definitely a well made shoe, but feel awkward on my feet. My heels feel like they are constantly wanting to slip out and they also feel tight around the front section (I got a 4E wide shoe). I don't think my feet do well in Brooks. Will go back to New Balance on the next purchase.

I ordered this shoe after reading the reviews which seemed very positive. Since I walk 25 to 35 miles per week I was very excited to try this shoe which other walkers so highly recommended. The shoe was comfortable and was breaking in very nicely. But after just 2 weeks of use (or about 50 miles), the shoes were breaking literally. The top of both shoes that form the collar around the ankle are disintegrating. It appears that these shoes are of poor quality as I have never had a pair of athletic shoes to start falling apart after just 2 weeks. I will not buy a Brooks product again.

I have fairly wide feet and use my shoes for workouts and walking. I would consider myself a normal pronator, meaning I am looking for stability shoes that offer moderate pronation control. In my opinion I was totally mismatched to these shoe by the Zappos sales person. These shoes force a higher degree of pronation because of the high inside support. I just went into a store to be matched properly, and walked out with the Brooks Glycerin. I feel like I wasted money and several weeks of discomfort by buying the Beast. They are very specific shoe for a specific problem. Be careful.

Well, I gotta say I am underwhelmed by this shoe. It's my first Brooks in about 30 years, and I won't buy another. The sole is already coming loose from the midsole, and I have done zero running, only worn about 3 months with just some light hiking. The cushioning is subpar, too stiff, and the uppers are too narrow even with my ee wides. It seems only Hoka one ones make an honest, well-cushioned running shoe these days.

The 2012 version of the Brooks Beast does not have the same fit as the 2010 and 2011 versions. If you need a wide and/or tall toe box, this shoe will no longer work for you. I will have to go to my local running store and get fitted for a different shoe now, thanks to Brooks changing the shoe so much. That's too bad, since I have worn them for a few years and run a couple of marathons in them. My frustration is not with Zappos, but with Brooks.

I was desperate for a pair of shoes for a trip to Disneyland. I found these at a local shoe store but wished I had more time to break them in. They were very supportive, but really kind of a stiff shoe. Also, the fit was very small. I am normally a woman's 9D, and men's 8D but these shoes I had to go up to 8 EE. Wow! But hopefully the will continue to work for me as for walking shoes.

This shoe was comfortable to begin with, but after about 3 days they began to hurt my arches in the worst way. The width was accurate in the toe of the shoe, but not in the heel. Perhaps it's the brand itself. I owned a pair of Addiction 9's and they weren't rough on my arches, but they felt more narrow than what was marked.

Unimpressed.
Product description states "internal support saddle keeps your foot securely locked in", not the case. Tried sizes 11 1/2 and 12, and my heel kept sliding up and down as I moved; almost felt like the shoe was coming off.
Previously had a pair of Saucony ProgGrid Omni 7s and loved them. Compared the two shoes side-by-side and noticed Saucony's heel support was almost an inch higher than the Beast, that my friends keeps the foot locked in to place. Immediately returned the Beast and purchased Saucony Hurricane 12s.

I have been buying Brooks Breasts for several year and have loved the shoes. I extremely overpronate. However, I'm extremely disappointed in the new model, the outside sole compressed with in a few weeks causing over supination. Very disappointed with the quality and support of the new model.

I bought this after seeing so many good reviews. This shoe is bulky and I was expecting a great support. After 2 months my feet still hurts after standing or walking for long periods of time. I feel like I wasted my money.

I usually purchase (3) pairs a year and have been a big fan for the last 7 years. When I ordered the '12 Brooks Beast, I noticed that the width of the shoe got smaller and more snug. I tried with my orthotics and my feet went to a pins and needles feeling within a few min of putting them on. I also tried a 2E and both are much snug/tighter than the last model. Why would you change the design of such a successful shoe? I have been brand loyal for several years spending hundreds of dollars and now this... Completely disappointed! On the search for a new brand and shoe.

I ordered this in 11.5 D .On arrival while trying it on I couldn't get either foot in these shoes -- everything was clear -- but they were close to a size and a half small, and narrow. I happened to have ordered another pair of shoes in the same shipment from a different manufacturer in the same size -- and they fit perfectly . Shipping work to China is one thing, but performing work with absolutely no quality controls is another. Bye Bye Brooks!

Wasn't the shoe for me, I on my feet all and at the end of the day my feet hurt. I ask them just to replace my first Spira shoe they say we have no more at that size? Got the run around? A nice person at work say Spira was a nice shoe and I told her what was going on,she look at my shoes?and say sorry? She couldn't wear something like that, over priced.

good luck there out for money?why not just replace my first shoe 10 half spira
