Great looking boot. I have 16inch calves and these just fit. It's hard to find a boot for the size of my legs and these can even be adjusted to be wider if needed. They do run large, I would order 1/2 size smaller than usual.

I have had the hardest time finding wide calf boots that fit. These actually fit! I do not have huge calves, but athletic calves as I am 5'11" and wear size 11. I am returning since I was lucky enough to find two pairs of extended calf boots on Zappos that worked. Overall, these are very comfortable like you would expect Born to be. I felt they might tend toward a little less dressy with the rounded toe and lack of buckles, etc. They have a full zipper up the inside. It was very comfortable as sometimes full zippers are not. I had never seen a "cut out" in the back of boots. Ultimately, I decided to keep the other pair since I decided they were more versatile to wear with some "boot cuffs" I bought, and I just wasn't sure these would work with this "cut out" rear design. These felt super comfortable what little I wore them around my house to try them on and test. You wouldn't go wrong with these. Beautiful color and leather!

Finally found the one! I've had my current go-to boot since 2005. It's a J.Crew one and I was holding all other boots up to its standards. It has a low heel, is somewhat fitted around the ankle, and can accomodate my athletic 16" calves (I'm 5'6" and 136lbs). I tried 3 Frye boots (I own a pair of their loafers and they are so comfortable) and one other extended-calve boot, Naya. None of them I liked. Either the circumference was too big (really, I know) or to small, or the ankle area was too big for me. This boot though, perfect, so far. I like the heel height, the ankle area is just right, the circumference is great (I can wear my skinnies with them), and I love the color. The toe area is a little darker but it fades into the main color. Plus, it's very comfortable. I bought one size down and one my regular size. I kept the regular size because I'll wear it with socks, and the fit is good. Hopefully this boot last as long as my J.Crew one has.

These run big. I am usually an 8.5-9 and I finally settled on the size 8. That said, these are super comfortable. The cushioning in them is wonderful! And the leather is very good quality. I wish they had a bit more going on with style. They are pretty plain, but the height is great and the leather is beautiful. I don't have small calves or knees and these fit nicely.

I love these boots! I have big calves, and these fit great. The leather even stretched enough to squeeze my pants in. They are super comfortable to walk around in, too. The only downside to these boots is that the soft leather seems to scratch easily. I would still recommend them, though.

Very happy with this purchase. I have wide calves, and long legs. Trying on knee high boots can be a comedy show, but the cut out design fitted well, even with skinny jeans. Ankle is snug and well fitting, so avoiding that 'wellie boot' look. Good soft sole under foot - feels supported & comfortable. Did think the leather upon initial inspection, looked a little 'shinny' & cheap, but I've since reconsidered. It's soft & looks better with a little wear & tear. I purchased my normal size, and they fit well with a slim sock. Good value ... Hope they last.

These boots are amazing! The fit, the comfort, the style, Ideal with skirts for office wear and yet still practical for small town winter conditions. Love!

Got these for my wife for Christmas and she loves them. So much so we bought a brown pair for her Birthday. The boots are great quality, the fit is perfect and the delivery was very quick. Not sure what the return service is like as we have not had to use it.

Love these boots! They may just be the perfect black leather boots. They are wide enough to accommodate my large calves without being baggy in the ankle area. The shiny leather is dressy enough to wear to work but the style is casual enough for weekend wear. They might run a tad large, I am usually a 9 which is what I ordered and there is extra room in the toes which is nice if you want to wear thicker socks. They are not terribly warm though, I walked around outside with them when temps where near freezing and my feet got a little cold. That works for me because I am mostly inside, if you commute to work using public transportation, these might work better for fall and spring temps.

I ordered three pairs of wide calf boots before I found a pair that fit my 17 1/2" calves. I love Born shoes but they tend to run small. That is not the case with these boots at all! I wear an 11 and these fit perfectly! The boots were tight around my calves the first time I wore them, but the leather stretched out just enough and now I wear them all them time. The cut out with the buckle closure on the back was a great help with the wide calf fit. As the boots stretch some you can just adjust the buckle so the boots still fit well around your calf. A lot of Born shoes have a slick sole on them, and me being extremely clumsy that's not a good thing. These boots have plenty of grip on the soles. I would definitely buy these again!

I love these boots. I have a hard time finding comfortable boots, but these barely took any time to break in. They have a very comfortable sole (particularly under the heel) and a great wide toe. The leather does scuff easily, so that's something to consider, but I find it just makes the boots look worn in a nice way, nothing too distracting. Definitely the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever worn! I have fallen arches and usually need to wear orthotics but not in these shoes. They don't have great arch support, but their shape somehow prevents them from straining my arches nonetheless. So even if you have similar foot problems, consider these or other Born shoes. Worth the cost!

Great boot, with a wide toebox. I was looking for a comfortable boot that works with dresses and skirts and this is it. The leather looks very nice. And you can't argue with Born comfort. I haven't worn them enough to know if durability will be a problem.

I love these boots! These are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I was not totally sure about the cut out in the back when I saw the boot online, but it looks great on. The leather seems to be good quality. I have a hard time finding boots to fit because they are usually tight on my calves and too narrow on my feet but these boots are the best!

Very nice boots, straight out of the box. Comfortable, true to size, just great boots. I wanted something a bit larger than my calf, and it was just right.

I absolutely love these boots! They are comfortable and stylish. I was a little surprised at the opening in the back (high up by strap) - but have grown to like it.

So far these are proving to be the ideal basic boots! Fit is true to size all around. They are very comfortable (though a little flat in the footbed for me - might add an arch support, but I do that w/a lot of shoes and it's just personal preference). The black leather looks great with jeans or skirts and the look of the boot is nice enough that it can dress up or down; it also helps that the buckle is not too prominent so you can dress it up a little more than some riding boots. The pictures here make the finish look a little more shiny than it is. The leather does have a bit of shine to it - not matte but not too glossy - which is exactly what I was looking for. The black stitching blends right in w/the leather and the Born logo is really tiny on the heel (reverse stitching and an overly prominent logo are two things that often bug me w/this brand of shoes). Because I live in a hot climate I worry about spending $ on boots that can only be worn for about 2-3 months out of the year max. It's important to me to get styles that I can wear over multiple years. These are definitely a winner because they are pretty but not too trendy and sturdy enough they should provide great mileage.

I love these boots! I ordered both black and brown. The color and sizing is accurate. They are great for wide calfs, they fit my 16" calfs with skinny jeans on. They are very comfortable. I a so happy with my purchase!

Great boots. They hug your feet with support. You can't beat a great Born boot and this one is.

Wonderful boot. Order one size smaller than you usually wear. Soft, very comfortable leather. Felt so good I had to order the other color.

Wow. I read the reviews about sizing and these boots running large. I wanted to order a 7.5 because I usually wear an 8, but they were out of stock. So I took a chance and ordered the 7. They fit perfectly even with my regular socks (medium weight socks). Love, love, love these boots. I can see how the leather scratches easily but I think that will add to the worn look of these boots which I love. I will say that I ordered another pair of born boots that were similar in style in an 8 and they fit fine as well (although slightly roomy, I could have worn thicker socks with them), so it's only this style that seems to run pretty large.

Nice boots, but they were too small. It was suggested from other reviews to get a 1/2 size smaller, this was not the case, I should have stayed with an 8.

I love these boots, but they are way big. After reading reviews, I ordered a half size smaller, but still needed to exchange them for a full size smaller. Nice boots. Born really rocks.

All-day comfortable and cute too. I get tons of compliments. Perfect boot for Midwestern winters.
