New Balance is the only shoe company I know of that gives you a last size. Very helpful. This particular shoe is an SL-2: It is wider, has a deeper toe box, higher instep, and narrow heel. I normally order an extra wide, but in this shoe, a wide is perfect. Good cushioning, excellent fit, doesn't look too clunky for a black shoe.

These were a bit small. Also, I didn't realize that these shoes benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation. Because that organization donates money to Planned Parenthood, I can't support them.

I have a wide toe box, narrow heel, pronate inwardly, and have a high instep and recovering from knee replacement. These shoes were good before the operation and even better now. I would not consider wearing anything else on long walks, with or without hyperactive terrier! Yes, I wish they had more style, and came in blue or grey but still, I am ordering a second pair just to have in case! This is the only shoe for real walking.

I do a lot of walking with my dogs and this shoe could not be more accommodating for my sweet buniony feet. I'm always on the lookout far and wide for a shoe that will fit me right. I usually have to settle for a longer shoe than I need to compensate for the lack of choice in the width. I got this comfortable shoe in a 7 1/2 D, the size I need, instead of an 8 or 8 1/2 B which I have had to resort to in the past. Yippee! I'm very happy with this pair of shoes. The only negative I can see is that because my bunions come very close to the netting that runs down the inner sides of the shoe, I can project that that area will wear out sooner than another shoe might. Also it is an added plus that I get to do business with Zappos, a fine, intelligent, responsive company.

Needed a walking shoe where I didn't have to worry about a breaking in period. Found it with this sneaker. Lots of cushioning, and not too clunky looking.

I put these shoes on out of the box and my feet said 'Ahhhhh.' My feet are terrible -- arthritic, bunions, pronation problems, etc. I only wear New Balance athletic shoes. My summer NB is style 883 and they have been great, but only come in white mesh with silver and blue trim. I needed a black pair for a trip to Italy and for winter and I chose the 846. Have not had them before. They fit perfectly and I won't need an orthotic or innersole. They do not slide on my heel as some new shoes do. They are not beautiful, but being solid black they will not be that noticeable and my poor feet will thank me. I wish I could get the 883 in a gray or black leather and mesh. They are so cool. But for winter I am set with the 846. And the best part is they are made in the USA!

These shoes are amazing. I have a lot of foot pain and these are the first shoes that have felt comfortable and pain-free even after a full day of walking at Disney World. I highly recommend these.

Very comfortable. The stability really helps decrease my pronation. My feet feel great. Wish these came in other colors

I've been wearing these shoes for over 15 years. I purchased a new pair every six months. Nordstrom always tries to get me to try something else, but it is not worth even thinking about. These shoes consistently protect my feet, legs and back - almost like therapy. This was my first Zappos order, and the performance was as good as the shoes. I placed the order at 4:00 PM and the shoes arrived at 10:00 AM the next day, with no charge. Nordstrom is still a great place to shop, but this experience equals it. Thank you, Zappos!

I love these sneakers. They fit perfectly and are wide enough through the toe box. Zappos service is the best!

This is my 4th pair of the 800 series -- keeps my plantar fasciitis from returning and is great for walking, etc.

These are the best shoes I've ever worn. The added bonus of being made in the USA was the tipping point for the purchase.

These shoes are very comfortable and have excellent arch support. I would order these again. I wore an 8.5 in Asics shoe but took a 9 in these.

As a nurse, I wear only New Balance fitness walkers. I need a wide width and recently found myself needing a wider width for a corn problem on one foot. I ordered this shoe from Zappos desperate for relief. It arrived within days of my order and fit perfectly with the right amount of support

I like this shoe because it fit my foot perfectly from the first time I put it on; it has great cushioning; and it provides good stability and motion control. The shoe itself aside, it's an added benefit (like pink icing on the cake!) that part of the sale proceeds goes to an organization (Susan G. Komen) concerned with women's health.

Due to the fact that my feet are wide, this shoe is wonderful and I can wear it all day. The fit is perfect and gives me plenty of room.

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for a few months and after wearing these shoes for a month I can say that my feet are improving. They provide lots of stability and support. They are just what I needed. I got half a size larger than my foot size and it works well.

Thought there would be more mesh from the picture - it is over the leather so shoe is hotter than I had hoped. But very comfy, toe box is nice nd spacious.

These shoes replaced some worn out New Balance shoes of a different style. These shoes are so much better. In fact, I went on a trip with them new out of the box and they never hurt, no blisters and we walked a lot. They are my new NB shoes for as long as they make them. And Zappos wonderful as always.

I bought one pair and after wearing it for a week I bought a second pair. The shoe is exactly the size described and is extremely comfortable. In the past I have had shoes that have reinforcement around the front toes and that reinforcement hurts after wearing it for an hour or two. These shoes never hurt. They also provide good support for ankles. A great shoe in every way.

Great shoes. I am 61, overweight, and work on my feet 8-9 hours a day on concrete. My feet were killing me, but these shoes did the trick. I had tried several other top brands before I tried these. If you are having trouble with your feet, these really are worth the price. And they are available in lots of sizes and widths, I needed a 5 1/2 W, hard to find.

These are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned, so great I ordered 2 pair, one with pink and one with blue. They come in narrow which I did not know existed in a sneaker! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them; although pricey they're worth it to me.

A very comfortable shoe. I need a straight last, narrow width & a shoe that can accomodate custom orthotics and this shoe meets my needs. Wear it to work out and walk. I liked it so much I ordered the pink ones too.

I'm very picky when it comes to athletic shoes. I've been successful with the 'New Balance' + 'Niki' combination, so I ordered a number of shoes (free shipping and returns, yahoo!)...and chose this one. It's wide enough across the bunion area, yet snug and 'soft' fitting, with slight arch support. They are good in 'the house shoes' as well as for long walks and doing chores around the horses. I ordered a couple pair. With the leather exterior they don't get as dirty.

Sturdy shoes, and wide enough for prosthetics. I use them for my exercise classes and they are great, too expensive though.
