Have had this pair before in gray leather but the classic black seems to have a foam lip that is very noisy and annoying when walking. Other than the squeak the shoe is very comfortable and stylish.

These shoes look even better than I remember, but do they squeak. The tongue squeaks with every step. I tried to contact Adidas but they never responded. I hoped it would go away as I broke them in, but they still squeak weeks later.

These are overall great, comfortable shoes. It might be because they are new or because of the time of year but my feet do get a little overheated in them. They also do squeak which is not a big deal unless you are in a silent room. I read another review where someone put lotion on the tongue, which I tried and works temporarily (like a day), but the squeaking has not gone away permanently yet.

My husband has owned many pairs of Sambas through the years and he chose these for the classic look. They are pretty much what you expect except they will squeak for a bit for a while until the leather wears in.

I hesitated to buy this shoe because of the complaints about the synthetic tongue. It did squeak right off the bat. I applied some lotion a few times (at the advice of another reviewer) and have had no problems since. That said, because the tongue is synthetic it causes two other problems. One, it won't stay in place. And, two, it sometimes will get a small fold in it that will then press uncomfortably on your foot. Compared to the Superstar 2 it feels more cheaply made and, though comfortable, is not nearly as comfortable as the Superstar 2.

I got these shoes as a gift for my husband, I love how men look in these shoes! They fitted just perfect, true to size, are very comfortable (he wears them almost every day) and he looks very cute in them.

Husband and all three boys love to wear Sambas. They stretch out well and get more comfortable over time. Boys like to wear them to school because they play soccer at recess. If you are not a soccer player, I would recommend a fitness shoe with more of an arch.

Very comfortable shoe. Satisfied with fit and style. They are not as white as I had expected them. They squeaked the diary couple of times I wore them, made for funny day.

I'm a big guy, I weigh in at 240 pounds and I'm very active. I ride my longboard to work, I go out on the town, and then will probably end up drunkenly wrestling my friends and going home. These are some of the only shoes that will not only stand up to all the things I put them through for longer than six months, but they look good enough for work and going out to boot. Sambas are a classic that are famous for a reason.

I really like the look and feel of this shoe! The squeaking is a problem but you simply have to wear it until it's completely broken in. My feet are a bit wider and most of the time I have to buy a half size up, but I had to return my first order because they were big (my new pair is still roomy). Order a half size smaller.

Had a pair of these back in the day so I decided to re-live my youth. Love these shoes. Super durable, comfortable (even though I have a wide foot) and looks sharp. I prefer this style to the classic Samba because the tongue on these is much shorter than the traditional, which is probably because it's intended use is for soccer and covering the shins. Anyway, I really like these shoes a lot and get a lot of compliments on them. Nice work, Zappos and Adidas.

This is my second pair of the Adidas Originals Samba. I didn't wear the first pair every day, but certainly wore them every week, and in many different situations, for three years before they wore out. The simple classic styling goes with near anything. I prefer shoes with flatter soles. If you're looking for shoes with arch support, look elsewhere. Zappos is amazing and shipped them very quickly!

The Originals is a great pair of shoes. Once you break them in they become really comfortable. They do squeak a lot for some reason due to the tongue.

First the good: the shoes look great; I always get positive comments when I wear these. I travel a lot and wanted a functional pair of casual shoes that don't take up too much room in my carry-on. These fit the bill exactly. The not so good: they fit snugly. I went a half-size up when I ordered. They fit, but only just. If I wear them all day, they start to get uncomfortable. So, if you order these! Order a full size larger than usual. I'll do that next time I buy a pair. They also do squeak when you walk, but as others have noted rubbing a little lotion or mink oil on the tongue takes care of that (you need to reapply every month or so).

I have had some that squeak and some that don't. They are very comfortable and look amazing with a lot of outfits. You really can't go wrong when you purchase a pair.

I bought these after wearing a pair of the Samba Classics until they fell apart and for the most part they're the same shoe, but the tongue squeaks constantly. I've used tape and lotion as temporary solutions, but it always comes back.

Squeak, squeak, squeak. Why, oh why, did Adidas put synthetic tongue in this shoe that squeaks loudly whenever you move? This is a classic shoe and I've had pairs on and off since a kid in the '70s. The shoe is almost unwearable. Very poor. I had thought initially that it was a new shoe sound, but no - it's actually got worse and there is no sign of abating.

My husband loves these shoes and the way they look but they're taking a long time to break I which is driving us crazy because... They squeak like mad! I think it's the leather. Also, he is normally a size 12 and be needed a full size up. The 13 fits. The 12.5 was still too small.

I'm a 9.5, but needed the 10 in this shoe. At first, even the 10 felt tight in the toe box, but the shoes loosened up after wearing a handful of times and now are much more comfortable. They don't have tons of support or cushioning, though they're fine for walking around (better than my Puma Driftcats or Asics Tigers). I really like the ways the Adidas look - classic, dressy... I had the squeaking others have mentioned - a quick rub with lanolin glove conditioner on the tongue cleared it right up.

These Sambas (in white with navy stripes) are the perfect shoes for times when I want the comfort of sneakers but not the clunkiness of athletic running shoes. I wear them mostly with cropped or rolled up jeans and khakis. They are quite comfortable and really cute. The only negative is that they squeak, as other reviewers pointed out. I will probably try one of the solutions mentioned in other reviews or just live with it. As for sizing, I am usually a women's 6½ in sneakers and I ordered the unisex 5 in these and they are perfect.

Super thin tongue especially compared to the Samoa style. Unlike the rest of the shoe it is not made out of leather, which is likely the cause of the squeak noise others are complaining about. I have no issue with noise, but I'm not sure I like the feel. Either way I will buy again.

I love these! The fit is perfect, snug yet comfortable. These go great with jeans and tracksuits. Also cannot say enough on how much I love free and next day shipping!

This is an excellent shoe. After one or two wears feels broken in and comfortable. True to size. Good value for the price. I plan on buying a second pair. Much like the original leather Adidas shoes from the 60s and 70s.
