I've long been a fan of Adidas Originals, and sought something lower-profile than their shell-toe Superstar. Samba fit the bill. After a few days, they felt like a slipper. I second the comments about adding lotion or soap to the tongue to prevent the inevitable squeaking when you take them out of the box and put them on for the first time. Also, I've been buying Adidas for years and always taken an 11.5 in everything I've worn. These run snug and I returned them for a 12.

I've been wearing Sambas for a decade and love them for their simple styling, comfort, and durability. This is my first pair with the shortened tongue, and, at first, I was worried it would cause discomfort poking into my ankle, I haven't noticed any at all. I ended up with a half-size smaller than what I used to order, but I chalk it up to sizings changing over the last ten years and not my feet shrinking.

The shoe looks and fits as expected but they are uncomfortable because they have almost no padding and no arch support.

I have owned a few pairs of these shoes. However its been a while they fit small than normal. I can usually buy size 9 shoes and be okay. These were small. I needed a half size bigger. I sold them to a friend who needed shoes.

The Adidas Samba are an all-around awesome shoe! Whether you're the athletic type or are just wearing them for every day use, they are very comfortable, formfitting, and true to their size. The only complaint I have is that they are a bit squeaky. People can hear me coming from almost 20 yards away.

Extremely disappointed by the low quality materials, and they seem to be getting worse. This is my third pair of sambas in 5 years, the first pair lasted 3 years and was amazing until the sole wore bare at ball of my foot. The past two pairs have had a noticeable decline in materials, the "leather" appears to be made out of cheap plastic ("pleather") as it's overly shiny and unnatural looking, and the suede at the toe is so flimsy that my big toe wore through the past pair in less than 3 months rendering them unwearable. It's a shame that a great looking, timeless classic shoe like this has to be ruined by Adidas skimping on quality.

I bought these last summer and naturally at first they were squeaky, but since I wore them every day that eventually wore off. These are by far one of the best shoes I have owned and look great with almost anything you would normally wear. If you buy sambas you will not regret it.

I bought these to replace a pair of Sambas that I have had for nearly 18 years. Unfortunately the style has changed since then (or the style I bought was a limited edition). These are as beautiful as my old pair but the fit is different; the tongue isn't as long so it's constantly shifting, and the heel part doesn't seem to come up as high. I was expecting the age-old Samba squeak, so that's not a big deal right now. Anyway, I will keep them but I wish that they still made the style I had in 7th grade. :(

These are great shoes! They look and feel exactly like what I wanted and expected. I like the low profile and platform. They did squeak the first day that I wore them but I followed the guidance of the other reviewers and coated them with hand lotion which solved the problem immediately.

Come on, basically the coolest boy shoe of all time. Every man should have some. They look great with everything, they scream world cup, and they are just hot. They don't have all the support of running shoes, but they are totally comfortable. Yahoo!

Great shoe and very comfortable. Order a half size larger and fits just right. Goes well with khaki or jeans and has just the right about of style to give it both casual and semi-dress looks.

Beware if you wear a size 14 in other shoes I would stay clear of buying these. I bought these and they were so tight in the toe area that it was nearly impossible to wear them. I had to return. Really nice looking shoes but they run a size/half size smaller than other shoes. Yes they are narrow but that isn't an issue, its the sizing that is.

I bought these more for style - wanted a more diminutive look with jeans and maybe some shorts. They are narrower feeling than the Sambas I had decades ago, but overall they look great and do the job.

I love Sambas, but these are awful. I generally wear the classics, but I bought these short-tongue Originals and they are so loud. They squeak when I walk and draw strange looks from my coworkers. I've even tried putting hand-lotion on the tongues. No luck. Don't buy these. I really wish I had bought the tried and true Classic Sambas. such a bummer.

Arrived super quick, like next day. Couldn't have been happier with that. The shoes are a bit larger than I remembered but I love the leather. Squeaks a bit but really isn't too much and it only seems to be some of the time. Fit well on my narrow feet.

Great looking shoes. Classic clean go with everything. Keep in mind that if like me you have a low achilles tendon, the back of the shoe will rub it raw. I would recommend heel cups or insoles to reduce the chafing. This problem isn't unique to these shoes; I have it often with sneakers. But it is something to keep in mind. With heel cups these shoes are incredibly comfortable. I have wide feet, and they fit great.

This is the same great shoe I wore years ago. As others have mentioned, the shoes do squeak when you first wear them. The easy way to get rid of the squeak is to wash and rinse the tongue of each shoe with mild hand soap and allow the shoes to air dry overnight. I normally wear a US Men's 10 but size 10.5 fit me best in these.

Classic style. I like these shoes for everyday casual wear but if out for extended walking you may want something with better support.

My fourth pair of Sambas and I couldn't be happier. I love these shoes, and continue to be impressed by how quick Zappos.com gets them to my doorstep! You guys are like the Jimmy John's of clothing delivery!

These are very good athletic shoes. I can play almost any sport in them. The problem with them are that my ankle hit against the upper edge of the shoe sometimes, causing pain. This didn't go away with 'breaking them in'. Also, the tongue gives this terrible squeaking sound when rubbed with the upper of he ankle boarder. I tried to put tape there to mitigate, but it didn't work. Well, I thought these would be simple to overcome, but I guess not!

Comfortable and great looking shoe. The tongues are a little stiff and squeaky as others have said but I hope they break in. The leather is beautiful. I wear a women's 8 and bought the men's 6.5...perfect fit.

I bought these because you can wear a lot of different things with them, and don't have to have a ton of different shoes. However, they aren't all that comfortable, there's not much support for standing all day. They also squeak all day while walking in them. I don't know if it's new rubber, or new leather, or what. But it will sound like the soles of your shoes are constantly wet on a hardwood or concrete floor.
