These boots are beautiful, but alas, I did not heed the reviews and ordered them in my usual size. Since they were a Christmas gift from my husband, I had to wait until Xmas morning to open them, and was disappointed to find that they were too big. Unfortunately, there weren't any other options in sizes even close to mine, so I had to give them up completely. I am happy to say I found a pair of Clarks boots that I ordered and just got today, and I'm thrilled with them. (For the record, I managed to find a pair of Frye boots elsewhere in tan, and I couldn't resist them, and am now madly in love with them.) Frye definitely lives up to its high price in quality.

A great riding boot - not too over the top and definitely classic. The leather is amazing, as Frye never skimps on their quality and craftsmanship.
Great for day to night wear with jeans and/or a sweater dress. Can be dressed up and down.
Frye never disappoints. You'll need to wear them a few times to get the soles to 'wear' to get a grip, so don't be surprised if the first time is a bit slick.

I really wanted these boots to work out for me. I originally ordered the size 9 (which I normally wear) and returned for 9.5. I wore the 9.5 around my house for a week, and they were so hard to get on and off. I even tried the plastic bag trick. They are beautiful boots but did not work for me. Zappos is the best!

These are gorgeous, well-made boots. Not too tight in the calf, which is nice. I had some difficulty getting them on the first couple of times because the leather was a little stiff (to be expected in riding boots), but since then they've been awesome.

Awesome boot. I love the fit. I have very narrow calves and a very narrow foot and have trouble finding boots that don't gap even with jeans tucked it. These don't! I agree that the fit is a little tight at first, but after a few wears, they fit perfectly. They look best with skinny jeans or leggings because they fit so close to my calf. Leather is gorgeous. I wear a 10 and found them to be very true to size in length, maybe a bit narrow (which works for me) I have them in black, have worn them a ton and they still look fabulous. And of course, Zappos had them at my door in a day - can't beat that!

These boots are beautiful and comfortable. I wear size 7½ to an 8, and the 7½ fit just right; with maybe a wee bit of extra room (I like that).
I was able to wear them all day the first time, and I get compliments every time I wear them.
I chose the Bordeaux, which is quite dark, and goes well with black and brown. My legs are not heavy; the fit might be a little too snug on a thicker calf - I'm not sure.

This boot was one of three pairs of Fryes that I purchased. The color is gorgeous and the leather is supple. The were very tight at the highest point of the shaft but this may have stretched a bit over time. Besides, I have large calves. Unfortunately, the boots arrived with scratches near the pull on tabs. I think that the scratches would rub out easily with conditioning creme but I feel that if a brand new pair of boots are scratched, the scratches should be made by me. I hated to return them but I felt that I had no other choice.

Wow, where do I begin? These are probably the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. The leather is top quality, love the all leather lining and the leather sole. They are absolutely beautiful. The burgundy color was so bright and eye catching. They were tight, especially the instep, I mean very tight, but only at the beginning, after a couple of weeks of breaking in, they fit perfectly. Now I go everywhere in them. Dress up for a party or down to take my son to school. Worth every penny.

I originally tried this boot in the dark brown, but ultimately decided to get the fawn color, which I would describe as an olive/brown. In my opinion this color matches a wider variety of clothes. Also my husband said the brown boots, while very classic, made me look like I was going to jump on a horse at any moment. I wear 6 1/2 in almost every shoe and the 6 fits perfectly. The shaft is also the perfect height for me (I'm 5'1"), an inch or two below the knee. My calves are on the larger side and tucking skinny jeans into them, while doable, is rather snug - so I hope they stretch out a little with wear. Overall, love the quality leather craftsmanship of the boot. I've never spent this much money on boots before and I'm happy with this purchase!

I usually wear a 10, but the 9 leaves me with room to spare length-wise (although they are cut a little narrow). A little wide on my very skinny calves, but better than most boots. I had very little trouble getting them on, even though I have a high arch. Gorgeous leather, and only a little too short on me (I'm 5'10, and at 15 inches tall they hit me a few inches below the knee). The cognac is a beautiful color. Overall, definitely a keeper!

Best boots ever! There was no break-in time at all; even though I'm on my feet most of the day, they were just as comfortable at the end as they were at the beginning. They don't look too cowboy-ish either. I ordered my true size and they fit perfectly when I wear socks (both thick and thin).

I have lusted after Frye boots for years, but could never bring myself to hand over that much money for a pair of shoes, quality or not. Finally I had the excuse of my wedding that I knew I wanted to wear boots with my dress. Not only were they adorable, but incredibly comfortable for a night of dancing and fun. It was a very cold night in the mountains of VA and they kept my feet so nice and warm.
They were a bit tight to get on with my thick wool socks and took some effort, but that probably could have been avoided by breaking them in a little more.

I loved these boots. They were a little shorter then I imagined, but the color and feel of the leather were great. I have super high arches and had no problems slipping my foot in. Although people have said these boots were good for people with slender calves I do want to give people a heads up that if you have a super skinny leg, like I do, you can expect a decent size gap around the calves still. Beautiful boot, just didn't fit right for me!
