I bought three of these because I usually love Naots, but I did not even try these on, hence the average score for overall and comfort, since I cannot judge anything but appearance. The leather upper is finished with uneven coloration, making them look old and scuffed. The first one I pulled out made me think I had been sent a defective pair. I was horrified (and disappointed) when the next two looked just as bad! Maybe Naot thought that since people buy jeans with holes in them, they will buy pre-scuffed shoes. Not me. They looked to me like they were overdue to be replaced. Back they go. Thank you, Zappos, for having such a generous return policy.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they just didn't work for me. Although it's advised they run large, I had to size up to get something close to fitting. The wide wasn't quite wide enough, although my foot isn't exceptionally so. The extra width was mainly in the fore foot, making it easier for my narrow heel to stay in place. Ultimately, my outer toes still touched the shoe edge uncomfortably. I've been a fan of Naot since I lived overseas, and I recommend you give these a try if you have foot issues, or just want a comfortable, stylish shoe. On a side note, while I received exceptional CS at my initial purchase, my need to exchange led to the first poor, rude service ever from Zappos CS personnel.

I am really sad to only give these shoes three stars overall, because they are among the most comfortable that I have ever owned. I first bought the sterling grey in size 8, went on a trip to Israel and did lots of walking, and the shoes were basically falling apart by the time I got back from my trip. Not even three months and the straps were totally ragged and falling apart. I contacted Zappos customer support and, to their credit, they replaced the shoes - wonderful, because these are not cheap! I had assumed my first pair was defective, because I have never even had a pair of cheap sneakers wear out in three months flat. Now about four months since receiving my replacement pair, and the stitching on the right shoe is coming undone and the outside of the shoe and inner lining are coming apart. For shoes that are so expensive I definitely expect more in terms of durability. I consider shoes like this to be an investment, as many people on here stated. I purchased a second pair recently, but now I am semi-regretting that choice. I reached out to customer support thinking that this pair was defective as well, and they told me it is expected that these shoes wear out within 3-6 months due to moisture, and that they recommend having a backup pair for this reason! I do have a backup pair now, but even if I can afford to buy such an expensive pair of shoes every 3-6 months, that does not mean that I necessarily want to. I thought (like many people in the reviews for the Naot Kirei) that by buying these I was making a longer-term investment, like you do when you buy Fryes or other higher-end shoes. At the very least, I would expect these shoes to hold up for longer than 6 months. So, I am delighted with the comfort, but super disappointed with the durability and Zappos' response to the situation. Very expensive shoes that wear out every 3-6 months? I am going to have to think really long and hard about whether I buy another pair of these in the future.

I thought these may run narrow, so I ordered the wide. Good thing - the wide was perfect. However, the strap across the top seemed like it was made for a narrow shoe. It didn't even go over half my foot, leaving the Velcro exposed. For the price of this shoe, they could have given a longer strap. I thought about taking it to my local shoe repair placed to see if they could add a piece, but opening on the plastic part holding the strap was so tight that I thought a seam in the strap would break it. Also, the way the front part of the shoe slopes, my middle toes were touching the end of the shoe. Might have been okay, but I don't think this was a true size 11. I will say the softness of the upper materials, the rubber sole, and the squishy inner-sole would make these fabulous to walk in if you can get the rest of the shoe to fit.

Just a word of warning on this shoe in Polar Sea Leather/Blue Velvet Suede/Navy Patent Leather: It is much darker than it appears in the photo. I was hoping for more blue but it's almost black. Nice shoe, just not the color I expected.

I'm returning these because I can't seem to get the upper strap to fit my foot comfortably. Although the footbed is very comfortable, the upper feels cheap and poorly made.

Underwhelmed. They are cute, but the patent leather looks like plastic and I'm not sure what it would do with age. They seem like they don't breathe, so I'm pretty sure they'd be sweaty, and they'd look silly with socks.

So sad these didn't work! The shoe itself fits like a glove but they put a lip above the back of the heel and it cuts right into the Achilles tendon! Wish I could have taken it out and then it would have been a perfect shoe. Good arch support, supple and comfortable.

The size seems correct but the cut is strange. There is plenty of room for my big toes but the cut across the others is so severe that the shoe presses on them. A larger size would be too wide. I love the style and have had Naots in the past that were extremely comfortable, but these are not.

This was a super comfortable shoe, but it lacked structure and I could feel my ankles pronating inwards rather than stay straight as they do with the Allegro line of Naot shoes. Also, the pull tab style in the back is quite tall and digs into the back of my ankles. I'm sticking with the Allegro line of Naot, which perfect for me. Each Naot line has its differences so it pays to try different types.

I love everything about these shoes except for the leather. They are cute, comfortable and nicely made. You can't tell from the photos, but the strap and leather around the top back of the shoe is shiny shiny. Like patent leather. It really looks like cheap plastic. Sadly, they're going back.

These are cute enough, but they are not the great shoes that I was hoping they would be. The strap cut into my foot and they were just smaller all around than I could use.

These are cute. I ordered 12-W, I returned 11-W, they were too short. These are comfortable, however I would not be able to wear these for walking for more than 30-45 minutes. There is not enough support for the front of my foot. I doubt I will purchase another pair of Naots.

These are beautiful shoes but despite other reviews, the shoes did not have a large enough toe box for my bunions! I wish they had worked.

These shoes are confortable, however the arch support is inadequate for me. I am a nurse and do 12 hour shifts. These shoes made my feet hurt. New heel and ankle pain. So, I had to buy a new pair and Danske shoes. For me they are not comparable to Danske for work. They will probably be ok for running errands.

First, this black madras leather is more of a dull-gray black, even bordering on a slight bluish tinge. There is little to moderate arch support. They are comfortable, but in the way slippers you wear about the house are. I have been a Naot customer for years, but I will not purchase this brand again. For the price, I would expect much sturdier shoes with better leather; I think they are worth less than half of what I paid.

I liked the shoe but it was a bit too tight, so back it went. If it wasn't tight, it seemed like it could have been comfortable -- but only had on a few minutes. The angle/cut/design at the toe area shoe was a little "funky" looking the way it was angled. I thought it would have looked clunkier.

I was so hopeful about this shoe, but it just didn't work for me. I usually wear a 9.5, so I ordered a 40 and a 41 to see which one would fit the best. The 40 was too short, but the 41 felt a tad too loose. I could not wear this shoe for more than 30 minutes at a time before my back, hips, and knees started to ache terribly. A cute shoe, and the luggage brown is actually a lovely color, but the shoe just doesn't offer much support.

I found that despite what the site says this shoe is a full size smaller not larger. I am having to exchange for the second time. I know I will love it once I get the right size!

As suggested, I ordered this one size smaller than my usual size. I love the shoe, but it's just too small -- my toes are jammed up tight against the end, but otherwise they fit great in the width & feel really comfy. Returning them for my normal size, & hoping they won't be too big. A half size up would probably be perfect. For this price, Naot should offer half sizes. Getting 3 stars only because the suggested fit was too small. If they fit, I'd give them 5 stars.

I loved the look and feel of this shoe, but as I wore it around my home and in the office, and once for a longer walk in my neighborhood, I got some burning sensations in the arch of my foot. This was surprising, since I have a high arch and I think of Naot's as designed to offer support to the foot.

Beautiful shoes, they are just way tighter than regular Naots. I got a size larger than normal, 41, and they were still tight, including the velcro partially reaching across. For the money with tax, they had to be perfect and they weren't.

This shoe is much smaller and more narrow in the toebox than other Naot styles. I wear a size 42 so no other options for me. If you wear smaller size, order up.

The support in these shoes was good, but the high lip on the back of the shoe dug into my Achilles tendon. Had to return.

These are very comfortable and not as clunky looking as other Naot shoes. I have sandals that I love but find the aesthetics of the shoes disappointing,especially at the price. So, these are good, for the brand. That said, they would be too wide for me without the strap, and I think they could benefit from a more cushioning. I'd hoped to wear them in the city for hour+ walks as I do with my sandals, but my knees hurt after long walks in these. Great for popping out for errands and cute with jeans though.
