I bought these boots and as soon as I tried them on I knew there was no way I could walk comfortably in them. They are heavy and clunky. It felt like I was walking around in clown shoes filled with bricks. They seem to be made well and seem like they'd be able to withstand tough winters, but I couldn't see myself wearing these in public without being embarrassed of how huge they are.

I love Sorel boots and I should have listened to my gut and returned or exchanged these right away. They are so masculine and look oversized on my feet. I am a size 9 1/2. The insert falls out of both boots every single time I take them off which is really annoying. For the price, not worth it. Wish I picked a different pair. The quality of material seems good though.

Very warm but really very heavy. Need to get new boots that are lighter.

These boots cost too much and my toes are too cold. You have to wear two pairs of socks to stay warm. I live in Chicago, it's pretty cold for the winter and they didn't do the job. They stayed dry but were very cold. Don't buy them Uggs are way warmer. They are very wide too.

I ordered this boot for my husband, who has worn sorels for years. the first pair we received had a bubble in the lining under the wool liner which he said was very uncomfortable and could feel it with every step. so I sent them back..The second pair/same exact style, also has a bubble in the lining of boot. He is not satisfied considering the cost of this boot. the quality/workmanship is not the same quality as in the past

Gorgeous boot, great quality but like other reviewers, the back scrunches and rubs the back of the heel to the point of blisters. Returning.

Just like the other two reviews, I too bought these with the intention of using them a lot since we get a lot of Snowfall/cold temps in Michigan so you want your feet to stay warm and dry but want comfort. Well one of the boots RUBS so harshly on my heel/back tendon and I actually started bleeding one time! I even wore thick boot socks to add padding and still bled. I actually had to stuff a wad of tissue between my heel/back tendon and boot to stop the rubbing! So disappointed in the construction and also I spent +$200 on them. Sorel, I am the third person writing a review on the same issue, please do something to make this right.

I must have bought/received an inferior pair last year. I walked around on snow in 30F weather for 40 min and my feet (in a pair of wool socks) went cold and numb despite the legendary felt insoles/padding. I tried it again the next day with 2 pairs of wool socks on, same problem. I doubt they should be rated -40F. I have had other snow boots (lined with shearling) that kept me warmer in the snow. My husband's Caribous did not have this problem. I don't know why mine weren't reliable.

I loved these boots when I first received them but am so disappointed with them two years later. I have to say they are very warm and my foot never got wet in them but the quality of the spine of the boot crinkled and now rubs against the back of my ankle, which is so uncomfortable. At first I recommended these to a friend but now I wouldn't. Please make better quality boots that last longer than two years, especially for the price. I barely wore these boots (about 10 times total).

The strap to pull on the boots (which you really need) broke the second time I put them on. Not cool. And of course I threw out any boxes to return them.

I finally purchased my first pair of Joan of Arctic boots. I figured Sorel was a great boot since all kinds of reviews rave about how warm and cute they were. I have had them since the beginning of Dec. I purchased them for outdoor use. Mainly ice fishing. When I get on the ice I can feel the cold start to seep in right away. After about 30 to 45 min I'm taking my boots off to warm my feet by the heater. The boots are true to size and I wear quality wool socks. I'm not satisfied with the product especially for the amount of money I paid for them. It's kind of a waste of money because now I have to find another boot to purchase if I want warm feet.

I purchased these boots last year. I have had several outings to test the quality of this boot, and unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the warmth. I purchased them for outdoor walks and fishing. Unfortunately, the sole is not insulated enough, so I can feel the cold almost immediately and am uncomfortable within 30 minutes. These boots are "snow bunny" boots, and not for the active woman that wants to spend the day outdoors.

I purchased a pair of these boots with the intention of wearing them for years with maybe a few new liners to keep them fresh. Well after about 4 months the right boot started to make a clicking sound when I walk, if I was in a store people would stare at me because it sounded like I have a peg leg. Now this season(13months later) my feet are freezing, my right boot liner was even frozen to the bottom of the boot when I tried to pull it out to put on my boot dryer. Today I noticed why I was having these issues, the sole has separated by my big toe on the right boot. I guess I should have looked at them closer while they were still under warranty? But, for the price of these things I didn't expect them to come apart in just a few months of actual use. I guess I'll be shopping other brands for now and would only buy another pair of these Sorel's if I can find them on a real good sale. I loved these boots but I cannot afford to buy a new pair every season.

I received these boots in the mail two weeks ago and have worn them three times. So my review is based on initial satisfaction level from wearing them for about four hours total. The good: these boots are so darn cute! I feel like a snow bunny when I put them on and run around in Alaska. Basically here in Alaska we have two forms of footwear winter footwear which is either bunny boots or Sorel's and summer footwear which is either Xtratuff or flip-flops!
They are extremely warm and high enough to wear with Capri leggings successfully. The quality in the craftsmanship seems to be sturdy and true to its brands history. The bad: your excitement to put them on is quickly diminished when you try to use the bootstraps to pull them up and realize someone had the "bright idea" to use snaps to attach the bootstraps so they just pop off as you're trying to put the boot on. What is this all about Sorel people!? As a woman with nicely manicured fingernails it is not convenient to have to grasp onto leather with your nails to pull your boots on. These boots shed worse than my black Labrador retriever in Spring. If you put them on with contacts in be ready to have hair in your eyes in your mouth and all over your pants should you choose to cross your legs while you wait in the DMV.
My biggest complaint about these boots though would have to be that the heel where the leather meets the lower part folds in when you walk rubbing against the back of your heel. Not like a too tight boot but more of a continuous fold agitation.
All in all the "cute" factor made these boots get saved from hitting the return bin. I will wear them and feel cute, despite their flaws. Why? Because that's what we do for most female footwear anyway!

With socks, my feet are cold even though it is 32F outside. Not minus! I walked around in the snow for 15 minutes and spent an hour in an unheated house. Toes are stiff. Not warmer than my ordinary leather boots. Very disappointed!

Do not buy these boots if you live in New England or any other area that receives a fair amount of snow. They are too short of a boot to provide any coverage when walking through deep snow. The tongue area (front) of the boot is several inches shorter than the top of the boot and cannot be completely closed. Almost immediately this area fills up with snow as you walk or stand. Deep snow easily covers the tops of the boots and soaks the fake fur trim. You're left with wet fur and wet boot interiors. The laces are slippery and do not stay tied unless double knotted. My toes were freezing when outside for only a few minutes. These are a fashion boot, not a snow boot. Buy if you want to wander clear streets after a light snow, not if you live on a farm or do any outdoor activities (including walking a dog).

I used to be a tremendous fan of Sorel, particularly the formerly tried and true Caribou. All through the 80s and 90s these were fantastic. But now, the rubber they use is garbage. It cracks in the first 6 weeks! I've gone through two pair in two seasons. The soles aren't even warn, but the sides have pulled away from the Uppers and the flex points (where your toes hit your foot, where they bend in each step) simply crack open! Terrible.
The uppers are still great, the design is great, the self cleaning soles work beautifully, the liners are fine, but the Rubber is horrid. Surly they still know what their original recipe for rubber was... why not go back to that? How simple would that be? But for what ever reason, they are allowing their flag ship boot to become worthless.
Buy something else.

I purchased these boots because they were supposed to be good for 25 below. Where I live in the mountains we get huge amounts of snow and with wind-chill it can get 40 below. Just the other day it was roughly -10 and I could FEEL the cold seeping into my feet while standing on the snow, (within minutes). I also had to get a half size (probably could have went a full size) bigger than I normally wear because they tend to run small. I also had to wrap my ankle to provide extra cushion because the boot was rubbing the back of my ankle, causing pain. They are beautiful boots, just not practical in snow/cold temperatures. I am hoping they will "break-in" because they are that cute and I want to keep them. The quality is great, I just wish they were more comfortable and warmer.

I returned this boot because it is far too heavy! Snow, sleet, rain...nothing could penetrate this boot, but you'd be soaked from not being able to pick your feet up to get out of the elements! Sorel boots are well made, but just too weighty for my boys.

I'm not sure why the quality this year is so awful. I have tried 2 different styles of Sorel boots to find out that they are nothing like last years. I am disappointed to find that Sorel is cheapening their boots. I used to count on their quality. BUMMER!

My toes are always cold in these boots and it hasn't even gone below 0 yet. They took a few times to break in and not feel like I was wearing snowboard boots. They are very cute but I bought them to keep my feet warm in heavy snow. They do not do the job.

have a really old pair, made in Canada, great quality. Second pair, Chinese mfg, didn't last as long. Just got new pair, design of boot liner has been changed for the worse, took me 30 minutes to get them on, and sized a little smaller than prevous pairs. back they went.
