I use them working out on the airport ramp at MSP and it gets pretty cold up here. Super comfy and warm! I get two winters out of them working in Glycol & Turbine Oil! 2 stars for being made in China. If anyone is listening, I'd pay more if they were made in Canada again!

Have worn L.L. Bean duck boots for many years, but not a good boot for real cold weather, even with linings. Decided to look for snow boots I wore in childhood, with removable felt liners. Was disappointed to hear Sorels were now made in China, as opposed to my father's old made in Canada pair. Willing to give them a try, but can't judge warmth until they have been worn outside. Then it's too late to return or exchange. Will review later after colder weather. For this reason I opted for the Caribou Wool, rather than polyester felt liner on the regular Caribou. Be aware, the liner is only 50% wool, the remainder being polyester and "other fibers". Not worth the effort to send back and exchange for regular Caribou, and not sure if wool blend will make a difference in warmth over poly-felt, but wish Sorel had listed content of liner. Might make a difference to someone deciding on the extra difference in price.

My hubby is super happy with this boot. So incredibly warm - and Sorel is a 'can't live without' necessity in the Northeast winters. Durability and warmth just perfect!

Perfect after-ski boot. The Caribou's are fast and easy to lace up, warm, and have excellent traction. They're a better after-ski boot than the Sorel 1964 Premium because the liner doesn't come out when taking off the shoe (though it can still be easily removed).

I bought these for a friend for Christmas. I also have a pair from four years ago (also from Zappos) that are my good winter boots. I wear them every day in the winter and they are like new. I wear these with a heavy pair of Ragg wool socks they have also kept my toes safe from frostbite. Neither do they leak or get cold inside. They are awesome. My friend was so thrilled with these boots (these are the wool lined ones) that he put them on Christmas Eve right out of the box and has worn them every day since. By the way, it's cold up here in January and February, most often below zero with nasty windchill. There are no taxicabs either. I give these boots ten stars. These are world class boots, so give them to your loved ones.
I'd also recommend:
Merrills - the ones lined with sheepskin. And Sketchers - the lace up ones.

I got these boots nice and quick but walked on them for 200 ft and slipped. Unfortunately the soles are not grippy on hard packed snow so these go back. I have the original Sorels 12 years old and they were very grippy the first 8 to 9 years now worn out the soles walking the dogs. I will try the 1964 Sorel model since the have the same pattern as my old ones!

This boot is warm, but provides no support and the lining comes out every time you take your foot out. Also the laces were too short and came out every time as well. Other reviews raved about this boot, but I wouldn't dare go on any decent winter hike or walk in these for fear of rolling an ankle or forming blisters. I returned ASAP!

I grew up on a ranch in Montana so reliable snow gear was a constant necessity from October to April. When I turned 13 my mom bought me a pair of Caribou's in a bizarre coming-of-age family tradition...I was freed from cheap plastic snowboots that let snow pack around your ankles or crack after a month of sledding on the weekends. I remember her making a big deal out of it and I wasn't all that excited as a teenager to get these clunky boots (Ever a planner, she bought a size 10 - I even now only wear size 8.5 - so I could always wear thick socks and grow into them) but I don't know that I've ever loved or used a pair of footwear as much as those Caribous. They got me through the cold winters of junior high, high school, and then became my go-to commute boots in college.
That brings us to present day. My trusty first pair (just as reliable as 20 years ago) lives on at my parents' house for my use when I visit in the winter months but I recently got a second pair to have with me (now in Seattle) that I plan on having for the rest of my life. I am pleased to report that they are the correct size (ordered an 8 as indicated by Sorel's sizing chart - fits with just enough room for some cozy socks) and this time in the black, to switch things up a bit. I use them every weekend for pre and post cross-country ski adventures and plan on using them for winter treks next season. These are not the sleekest profile boot, but that's not why I get or love them - they are the warmest, comfiest, and highest quality, functional boot I've ever had the pleasure of wearing.

These are great boots, which is to be expected with Sorels. My husband bought them to replace his 30 year old Sorel boots, which were still in good shape, but had waffle soles and not so good for traction. The new boots are warm, comfortable and keep him from sliding around on our Colorado snow and ice.

I am fully pleased and happy with my new Sorel's... Comfort is amazing, the style and look is what I wanted. I use them in Big Bear CA, they are perfect. Could not be happier.

I absolutely love these boots and would definitely recommend them! The customer service I received from Zappos was above and beyond as well, and I would recommend doing business with them any day!

Love them. Outside in the snow all day and they keep me plenty warm, dry and don't slip on the slick stuff. The leather looks great too.

I purchased these one year ago from Zappos. I live in New England and these are great snow boots. They are perfect for shoveling, sledding, walking, etc. They are, most importantly, comfortable and durable. I like that you can remove the wool liner to air-dry after use. Love the style as well.

The Sorel Caribou Wool is an awesome boot! I just used my new pair up in the Northern Upper Peninsula in Michigan to go bow hunting for deer. I spent many hours in the blind and my feet were toasty the whole time. I will also be using these boots for ice fishing as soon as the hard water hits. I love my boots and recommend them highly to anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors in the colder months.

The style was great. They looked great.
They were a little tight to size. I certainly would buy half a size bigger.
I guess it was a fault in manufacturer but the tongue on the left boot went behind the wool lining at the top of the boot and on the right boot it went over it.
The huge drawback with these boots is they are extremely heavy. I do a lot of dog walking each day but just after 20 minutes walking around the house and just wearing them my feet got really quite tired so walking any distance would not be good.
Comfort over style when walking distance for me is key and these boots don’t make the grade.

Too small for fit. Too hard to get your foot inside the boot without the felt bootie crumbling up in back.

I have had these boot for about 3-4 years. I only really wear them during snowy days, so I estimate I have worn them about 20 times and now there is a 1.5 inch crack on the rubber near the big toe. The crack goes through and, of course, render the boots not waterproof and pretty worthless. I really have not worn these boots enough for this problem to happen. Reading other reviews this seems to be an issue with many others too.

I've had these boots for 5 years. They are awesome. I hate cold weather and having cold feet. These boots helped me stop threatening to move back further south. Mainly wear these walking the dog in crappy weather or out sledding with the kids. They are best winter boots I've ve owned.

These boots are extremely warm. Very well constructed too. I'm 5'11" and weigh 165. I typically wear about a 9.5 to a 10.0 so I ordered a 10 to compensate for thick socks and had to send them back. The 10.0 was the equivalent of a size 15.0 after I did the math. The boot liner alone measured 12 inches! I went to Sorel's website to figure out their sizing chart and measured to be a 8.0. Overall, I'm very pleased with the boots. They're comfortable, warm, and waterproof. Just make sure you measure according to SOREL'S measuring chart because these boots do run large.

Best snowblowing boots I ever had. They are very warm, have good traction. They are easy to put on when grabbing the inner lining to pull them up. Easy to lace up. Laces stay tied. The bottoms are easy to clean off the snow when entering the house. Well worth the money.

These boots replaced my old Sorels of some 25-30 years. I agree with some who would pay more if they were made in Canada but they are just as warm. I took my old faithfuls to the pickers table at the dump and the man who got them nearly kissed me!
