I bought a pair of these on multiple recommendations. I was very happy with them at first but after only two months I started getting cracks above the sole/below the rubber upper. I took them back to the store I purchased them from and got a replacement pair. That new pair lasted only three months before I got a HUGE split in the rubber. I took those back too and will not buy another pair again.

I have owned Sorel Caribou's for over 30 years. They are comfortable and warm. The problem is in the longevity. My first pair lasted 14 years. My second pair lasted 14 years. 4 years ago I bought my 3rd pair. Lasted 2 years before the rubber started splitting. I bought my 4th pair during the winter of 2012 (Thought I would give it one more shot). They are now starting to split in the rubber also. Two years after purchase. I give up. No more Sorel Caribou's for me. Quality of materials or quality control has failed me.

Bitterly disappointed. This is my 2nd pair of Sorel boots and I will NEVER buy Sorel again. If you are looking for light use boots for snow shoveling, grocery store trips, snowmobiling or use that doesn't require much walking this is you boot but if you want an every day, on the farm, live in them 9 hours a day don't buy this boot. The rubber has cracked on both boots from walking and now lets the wet in. The liners wear made with such a small opening it was almost impossible to get your foot in without cutting into the felt and I have a size 7, narrow foot. This boot is in it's second winter which equates to about 6 months of solid wear in it's lifetime. From Sorel I expected more but would hazard a guess that these boots are made overseas and do not have the same qualities that Sorel was originally known for. My first pair of Sorel Caribou boots lasted 9 winters and only the tread wore out. I would suggest Sorel look into the quality of it's production before they lose another customer due to poor workmanship.

I bought these boots for price shown at about mid way through last snow season. I was really excited to get them because of the quality i thought they had. Well it's the start of a second season of snow and the where it bends when walking has broken down and now my boots LEAK! I am really disappointed in the quality of this boot especially for the price i paid. I have kids and i play in the snow with them. I was not rough on them out of the ordinary and stored them in a plastic tub through summer. This is unbelievable that i can pay this much and have them break down with normal use after less that a year of wear. I would not recommend this product. i switch from another brand that has long been my go to snow products and now am paying the price. Needless to say i will have to buy another pair of boots in less than a year of purchasing these boots.

I received these after much anticipation to walk my dog in our snowy, canadian winters. Such a disspaointment. They give me huge blisters on the backs of my ankles where theres a huge ridge where the rubber meets the leather. I didn't return them because i thought i could just "work them in" I've tried wearing different socks, tieing them up differently but nothing helps. I have a feeling that since Sorrel sold to Columbia the quaility i had come to trust in the Sorrel name is no longer there. They look nice yes - but arn't fit for purpose.

After just over a year, the rubber cracked in similar locations on both boots (just above the large and little toe areas). These cracks have turned into holes, rendering the boots useless for winter wear. In short, you are paying quite a bit of money for poor materials and barely a season's worth of use.
