Ordered these boots as they were highly rated. Was disappointed in the size and weight of these boots. The 8 was way too large for my foot. They were really heavy. They are made well, just didn't fit and were too heavy for me.

I have yet to wear them out in the snow to test it's waterproof, cold, and slip resistant ability. However I have tried them on to test out the feel of it. I love how comfy it is once myfoot is inside. It's definitely true to size. The wide front gives plenty of room for each toe. However, to walk in is a different story and will take time to get used to/break in. It feels like I'm wearing a walking boot/brace/cast. It's so rigid and unflexible, I have no idea what will happen when I'm on slippery ice, hoping they really are nonslip. Getting off is such a pain. I didn't want to believe the stories and complaintsbut sadly it's true. I really wish they had a side zipper to make it easier taking off but then I guess it wouldn't be totally waterproof. My ankle gets stuck when trying to take off the boot. It almost felt like I would break myfoot one time, I had to take a break with my foot dangling in halfway. This is not safe. I can't imagine being old with fragile bones , wearing these. I'm not sure I'll ever love these as much as my Minnetonka or other snow boots. The only reason why I'm keeping them is for their quality outside material, love the color and style, and the height. We're getting into negative degree weather and many feet of snow already, so I need a god quality boot. Just hoping they'll break in.

Boot is warm. Does feel a bit narrow, I went a size larger than normal due to this. Not as comfortable as my Old Sorel Domninator boots they replaced, but they should work. Would be nice if they made wide boots.

These boots look great. They are very warm. No sweaty feet. They fit true to whatever size you typically wear with maybe a tiny bit more room than usual. But it’s perfect because you can wear thicker socks in these.
I suggest adding a gel insole or something because the standard inserts are hard on my feet.
Oh and I’m not sure how these would hold up on icy conditions because the bottom of the boot has these round knobs as “anti slip grips.” My experience with those is they usually end up slipping even more!

I ordered these for winter vacations in Jackson Hole, WY. They've kept my feet warm and dry for miles of snowshoeing, through 9 consecutive hours of snowmobiling, and walking around town in the snow and ice during winter storms. I wear a 7.5 in shoes and an 8 in boots, but had to order a 7 in these. I still have plenty of room to wear them with two pairs of wool socks. They do rub the sides of my ankles a bit, but it's not very noticeable with thick socks. They are really heavy, but no boot has kept my foot warmer - and I'm prone to cold feet.

I really liked these boots but they turned out to be a bit TOO green and heavy for what I was looking for. Certainly can recommend them to anyone looking for that type of snow boot.

I had ordered two of those boots in different colors, both size 12. The black ones fit while the other ones, which were "supposedly" size 12 as well, did not. They were more like a size 10, so I find the sizing not consistent.
The boots that fit are terrific though. I have had them now for several winters and winters in upstate New York are rough.
Kept my feet nice and toasty with just one pair of socks on. Hands down the best boots I ever had.
The only three minus points I have are, the already mentioned inconsitant sizing, after a while I find the liners to get pretty smelly and I wish there was build in support/ cushion for the heels. The soles are super flat and my feet get really sore after a while of walking.
But otherwise, worth every single penny.

i normally wear a 12 wide. i purchased a 13 due to not having wide widths available. that was also to tight. returned those and purchased a 14 and those fit good and are not too long where as my foot would slide when walking.

These boots are super warm without being uncomfortably hot. Have worn them snow blowing and on ski trip on VT.
Ended up ordering a half size smaller than usual because my size felt a little loose - it is challenging to get the laces very tight because the leather on the tongue is very stiff. Even with a shoe insert I still feel that I could have comfortably gone down another size as the padding seems to have flattened out a bit from wear. I like my shoes on the tight side, particularly heavy boots like these.

I love these boots sooo so much. They're warm and VERY waterproof! They do run a little big, so I would order a half-size smaller! Other than that they're the perfect winter boot!

I was getting annoyed with people complaining that these boots were of poor quality because the straps broke while they were putting the boots on. Just to clear things up, the "boot straps" are not meant to be tugged on so you can put your boot on! Loosen up the laces and widen the boot opening so you can put your boots on the right way. The straps are attached by snaps to the boot. It is meant to keep the fur boot liner in place so that it doesn't shift around while you're wearing the boots. The straps can be easily snapped off so the liner can be taken out and washed or air dried. If you're tugging on this strap to put your boots on, you're doing it wrong.
That said, I love the look of these boots. I haven't yet worn my boots in the snow yet, but they have been worn in the rain and they keep my feet warm and dry. I've also received tons of compliments. Only con is they are a bit clunky to drive in. I also wouldn't wear these all day while running errands for fear of foot fatigue. I wear a size 6 and ordered the same. I think I could have gone half a size down, even with thicker socks.

My pair of Carbou boots seem really good, they're true (-ish) to size, maybe a little roomy but I like the option to fit very thick socks. They are warm and they are waterproof. I appreciate the heavily lugged sole over other similar Sorel styles, as it's grippy. If my experience ended there, they'd get 5 stars.
However, originally I bought the Sorel 1964 nylon boots, and a part of the rubber bottom was dry rotted after just a month. Sorel replaced them, thankfully.
So, my Carbous are very nice, and they do the job very well. But I'm concerned about how long they'll last; based on my own Sorel experience.

These boots are great. Super stylish on & the neutral colors they come in go well with just about everything. I went with the black pair because I think they look the sharpest and contrast with snow the best. As far as materials go they are actually super comfortable and your feet do stay warm in them. I love the fur on the top too, it adds some style to them. They are waterproof so that is a plus. I also like the rubber bottom and top portion because that will make it easy to clean! With sizing, I would definitely go with your normal size. The toe box is pretty wide, but that will allow for a nice pair of thicker socks to be enjoyed with them on. If you think you'll want to wear two pairs of socks or a super super thick pair, then i would size up 1/2 size. The only reason that i gave these boots a 4/5 stars is because there is not a size 11 1/2 in these boots. It goes from 11 to 12. I am normally a size 11 1/2. The 12 is uncomfortably a little too big and the 11 is a tad snug so with them i won't be able to wear thick socks in the 11. So, the 11 1/2 would actually be perfect for me if they made that size. Lastly, these boots will last for many years, they are very durable.

My only suggestion for potential buyers is to get at least half a size smaller if not a full-size. I'm returning mine in exchange for a next smaller size.

I am a mother of one son 6'11" size 17W A grandson 6'7" size 15 and I am forever grateful to Zappos' telephone personnel who went out of their way to make sure I got exactly what my son and grandson needed. One pair had to be returned, not even a bit of hesitation. This will be my only site for shoe and boot shopping for my sons with big feet. Thank you!

Very sturdy boot. A lot larger boot than I expected to receive. Initially wanted to return them, instead I tried them on and was instantly satisfied with my purchase. Nearly every single owner of this boot that I have met has stated they never would have picked these out for themselves off a store shelf, an attractive boot this is not. Function counts for something, none of us wanted to exchange them for anything else. Glad I took to gamble and bought online. All praise aside, the inner liner comes out nearly every time I wear these. A minor annoyance, due to the relative infrequency of use.
