Ouch! Do not buy these boots! I bought them months ago in preparation for the winter. I thought they were super cute, really high-quality and warm. It finally snowed in Syracuse this weekend, so I put them on to walk my dog... by the end of the walk I was limping and nearly in tears! it felt like a razor blade was cutting the back of my heels. My left heel has a chunk cut out of it. the heel on these boots cups up and cuts right into the Achilles tendon. This is definitely a faulty boot! Fortunately, Zappos has great customer service, and they gave me a full refund! Thanks Zappos!

These shoes were a big mistake. They are huge (both in terms of size and in terms of bulk) and heavy. I feel like I'm wearing ski boots! They are difficult to walk in (must slow down pace to account for the bulkiness) and gave me a huge cut along my ankle. Have worn them twice and now will throw them in the back of my closet.

Very cute, but gave me terrible blisters within hours of wearing them. I've heard they need to be 'broken in' but I don't think it's possible, due to the stiffness of the leather, and the design. Returning them.

Love the look, but there is not much that makes up the bottom of the boot! A problem with a lot of Sorels. Feels like a thin piece of felt and then a thin rubber bottom. Not good. I returned them.

Cute to look at, awkward to wear. They make you stand with your knees slightly bent much like a ski boot does. Also, and could be dangerous, these boots are not easy to drive a car in. Very difficult to press down on the gas/brake pedal.

I bought these boots for a snowmobiling trip to the Northeast Kingdom in VT. We were out riding our snowmobiles for 9 hours and my feet were toasty warm. Love the way they look and are very comfortable even for that long period of time. So glad I invested the money in these boots. Nothing worse than cold feet when you are way out in the woods and can do nothing about it!

LOVE these boots! I only wish I could've worn them more this past winter! True to size, comfortable, and warm! I searched for over a month and Zappos had the best price, and of course free shipping!

I really wanted a nice pair of snow boots. I have Uggs which I don't love to wear in the snow, and these were perfect! I bought 3 different pairs and decided to keep these. They are the perfect amount of "rugged" look to distinguish them as snow boots, but they're not overly rugged that you can't wear them with leggings and a tunic and still look cute. They're extremely warm and keep the cold, wet elements off your feet.

These are my new favorite boots! Very warm, comfortable, and cute! I had to go a half size up because I wanted to wear thick wool socks with them. Some winter boots feel like lead weights, but these are very lightweight, which I love. The arch support isn't great, so I would get a pair of insoles.

These boots are great. They're very comfortable, but they do run big. I recommend buying your exact size. I bought mine big, because I didn't take the advice of other reviewers. They're big but, wearing thick socks will help.

I love these boots! I had been eyeing them for years but always felt that they were a bit too pricey. I finally decided to give them a try, and they are worth every penny! They arrived the day that a record setting blizzard hit New York City and kept my feet warm and dry despite cold temperatures and deep snow. Other reviews mentioned sizing up to accommodate thick socks. I am somewhere between a 9½ and 10 and went with the 9½, which fits fine with thick socks. I highly recommend them!

Great warm cold weather/snow boot! Exactly as pictured. Sizing is pretty accurate..I'm usually a 5 in heels and 5.5 in flats..but wasn't sure if these would run a bit big, so ordered them 5-which was in fact a bit too short (my toe hit the tip of the boot) so exchanged for 5.5-which is perfect. Even room for an insert, which these need since Sorel's are pretty flat with little to no arch support. The color 'Nori' is a nice neutral olive green, but yet not TOO green. This shade will go with everything.

Love these boots! I'm in Alaska as a travel nurse and wanted something that looked cute and was functional and these fit the bill. As noted in other reviews, they are true snow boots so they're stiff at the ankles by design. Not exactly good boots for hiking but I'm not a hard core hiker so waiting for the thaw is fine by me. I ordered my true size and a half size larger to be sure I got a pair that fit and feel they were true to size. The insides are lined with a removable fleece-like material attached to the fur on top which I thought was cool. In other words, you can wear these with or without the fun fur. Returning the unneeded larger size was a breeze and was refunded in a little over a week. Get these boots!

I originally ordered and received a different type of Sorel boot, and ordered it in my usual size. That particular style was too small and I returned them and switched up to Joan of Arctic style and also ordered a half size larger thinking that the brand ran small. Not true. The Joan of Arctic boot is slightly too big, but I just wear them with extra thick socks. I love them - they are perfect for freezing snow and ice. My feet stayed so warm and snug while hiking around in the snow! If you order though, you might order your true size. They are really sweet!

I hardly ever write reviews but these boots are awesome. I put them to the test immediately and they did not disappoint. For hours I trounced around in 1 and 1/2 foot of snow. My feet have stayed dry and warm. They are easy to put on and take off. They look great for a clunky boot. If i were to take the liner out of these, they are way too big so I can only wear them with the liner which means they are strictly colder weather waterproof boots. These Joan of Arctic's are my new best friends and I plan to have them for years to come because they seem really well made.

These boots are amazing! So warm and waterproof. Perfect for cold days whether snowy or rainy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE BOOTS! I've wanted them forever but every time I go to order, they are sold out. I finally got them on my feet and boy are they toasty! I am so happy with them! I am a size 8 and ordered and 8. They fit just fine, even with thick socks and a little insole (they're not very 'squishy' but they are super warm and so cute) I also ordered replacement boot liners from Sorel directly for when these wear out. I heard that the styles can update and the liners may not match. I highly recommend them! I live in western NY so the winters are long and cold (and wet and snowy) I feel invincible in these boots.

In love with these boots! They're totally worth the splurge, they're great quality, super warm, and will last you forever. Don't buy a cheap pair that will only last you one winter season; invest in a good pair like these.

I bought these boots for a trip to Tahoe. They are comfortable and did not bother my achilles like some of the other reviewers. (It may be because I have smaller ankles.) They are completely waterproof; however, they did not keep my feet warm enough in the snow. They did keep my feet warm during cold, rainy days in SF though. Also, these boots run about 1/2 size smaller (as other reviewers pointed out). I normally wear 6.5 but took the reviewers advice and got a 7 and they fit perfect with normal socks. If you are planning on wearing thick socks, you might want to order up one full size. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

This is the second pair of Sorel boots I've owned (my first pair I've had for over 20 years and are still great, just a little short in the shaft for deep snow). My first pair were a size 5, so that's what I ordered here. I have a high arch and instep, and had quite a bit of difficulty getting my foot past the instep area of this boot. Once on, they felt like a tight size 5. I exchanged them for a 6 and they are a touch larger than necessary, but I now have no difficulty getting past the instep and have plenty of room for woolly socks. The left boot does rub the back of my ankle, but not the right. It's something I expect will ease with wear.

I ordered these boots in the color "NORI" and instead received "OLIVE". Although, I chose not to send them back because I didn't want to have to wait again and I actually don't mind the olive color, I was bummed.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. These are the best winter boots I have ever owned. I bought them to replace an old pair of Sorels that had been the next model down from this one-- the quilted part had started to wear in places. I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again so I splurged and got the leather ones. These boots are awesome. The leather is thick and the places where it joins with the rubber bottom are solid and waterproof. The inner lining is SUPER THICK and totally removable, which is nice. They are a little heavy (they are winter boots, after all) but not overly so and I find I can walk in them for long distances very comfortably. They have a nice tread on the bottom as well. Very luxe and the best boot you can buy for seriously cold/ snowy winters, imho. I live in Minnesota so I know what I'm talking about.

They definitely run big. I wear an 8.5 and these were too big (more than half size), even with thick socks. I love them so much though that I'm gonna keep them anyway because there's no more 8s.
