These are a true snow boot, hefty and sturdy, a little too much so for what I am looking for. I ordered two pairs of Sorels and compared to the Tofino that I ended up going with, the weight was immense. 2 pounds after the liner, suede upper, and thick rubber sole. Due to the chunky footbed, it rubbed on my ankle as well so be careful about that.

I needed a size larger because I have a high arch so now I just wear socks! My girlfriend bought a size larger because she likes to wear socks! They are rubber and do not stretch like leather. Enjoy!

My husband bought me these boots for Xmas, and they looked fantastic. But I had to return them because I have a short ankles and the fortified rubber on the base of the boot was scraping at my Achilles tendon -- and this was just a dry run walking around the condo. I couldn't imagine trekking around the city in them. Plus, they felt really heavy on my feet. I was very disappointed, because they're super cute!

I was very excited to receive these boots less than 24 hours after I ordered them from Zappos. I live in Chicago, and we have long, cold, slushy winters. I wear size 8 or 8 1/2 and ordered size 8 and the boots fit true to size without any issues. The day of the first big snow I was able to keep my feet warm and dry while shoveling, which is a first. I also wore them indoors for a hockey game and stood for 2.5 hour with moderate comfort. My only complaint is that the right boot is bending inward when I walk and rubbing on my Achilles tendon on the back of my heel. The left one does not bend inward to the degree that it causes discomfort. I'm going to wear them a few more times to try to break them in, hopefully when the leather softens up it won't be as painful.

Overall, if you need a winter boot to keep you warm and dry and totally fashionable, this is the boot for you. They're a little on the heavy side, and they tend to slip a tad when I'm walking, but I counteract that by wearing thicker socks with them. A great buy though, I don't regret it!

I only tried them on briefly. I am anywhere between a 7 and a 8 depending on the shoe. I ordered an 8 to be on the safe side and they were huge! Super cute though. The were out of this color combo in a 7 so I ordered it in another color. New review to come soon.

These boots are adorable. Unfortunately I have size 10 feet, and they just enhanced how giant my feet are. They seemed to be very high quality, very warm, and very comfortable. If you have giant feet like me, you may want to think twice. But I found them very attractive and would not have returned them otherwise.

Extremely comfy and defiantly warm. The only problem with these boots is how wide the bottoms are. I understand that they are winter boots, but I feel like I have duck feet when I wear them. In any case, they are still very cute and I love wearing them with leggings. Now if there could actually be some snow...

I love these boots and I think they make winter sexy and rugged all at the same time, but I wish the ankle support was a little better. I like that I can slip them on quickly and go! But I spent the day walking in them... and I wish they had more support. Not made for hiking in the snow, but definitely a great winter day boot.

The box I received was marked size 9 in the Shale color, but inside there was a size 9 in the Hawk color. I normally wear a size 8 but ordered a size large to be able to wear thick socks and have a cushion of warm air around my toes. Still haven't had real snow this year, but I know these will easily conquer it. Keeping the Hawk color even though I didn't order it. All the colors are cute.

These boots are perfect as an Ugg alternate for when it is raining or snowing outside. My only complaint is that sometimes it feels like I am trying to get snowboard boots on as they are fairly stiff (I am hoping they stretch out over time). I am usually a size 7½ and the 7 fit perfectly.

This is my first experience with Sorel's- I love the styling and I wear a true size 7- except these run short- my toes are touching the end! Going to try an eight!

Love these boots, they are warm and cozy, a little heavy but make a statement for snow boot fashion!

Just got my boots today, and they are so adorable. I have to exchange them though for the next size up. I wear a 9 in everything and my toes are pushed up against the end of the boot. Also, where the rubber meets the leather they are rubbing on my ankle. I hope the size 10 won't do that.

I finally got the chance to try these boots at 20°F and 1' of snow last weekend. Here are my findings: The boots look nice, well made and good quality. At 20°F and 1' of snow, being outdoors for two hours, my feet were fairly warm and dry. These boots are going to be fine for very short walks on flat snowy surfaces, or while you watch your kids or play with your kids. They have no grip, so walking up the snowy hill (not ice, just snow trail) is not possible as your feet slip too much and make walking quite uncomfortable. They are also bulky/heavy for longer snow walking/hiking, so if you want to do that, you need to get a smaller gortex snow hiking shoes/boots. The Joan of Arctic are good snow boots but for minimal exercise. I have flat feet, medium to wide (toes) size 7 or 7½ from sandals, sneakers and leather shoes/boots. I ordered size 7 and the fit is right. There is enough space in toes for wiggling or heavier sock. I gave them an overall mark of four only because they are for limited usage and I will have to get different snow boots due to my snow hikes. I hope this was helpful, I read at least 200 reviews before buying these boots!

The boots are really cute...I have a really narrow foot...7 1/2 but, I ordered a size 8 so I could wear extra thick socks.

I usually wear a 7½ or 8. I ordered these in 7 and in 8 (no half sizes). With my thick socks, the 7 was too small and the 8 was too big. The other issue is this style is rather clunky. I did not realize how much so until I also ordered the Torfino style which comes in half sizes. That style is much more streamlined and I will feel more comfortable wearing that style. The Joan of Arctic makes me feel like I have huge duck feet. So, I am returning these and getting the Torfino in an 8 because it seems to run true to size and these seem to fun about a half size larger and again, it is a bigger boot.

I love these boots! They are too cute, I had to have them. I found them to run small. I wear a 6 1/2 to a 7. The size 7 in these boots was too small, my right toe was touching the end. Since the boot only comes in full sizes I ordered an 8 and it feels so much better. I have never worn any shoe bigger than a size 7 and these boots fit me in a size 8. You need room in a winter boot for the heat to build up around your feet. I recommend ordering at least a half size larger than usual.

I really needed a 8.5 I usually wear a true 8 but it was just too small I was afraid I could not wear a heavy sock for warmth. So I ended up getting the 9. It is a little big but not bad. These are hard to drive in, otherwise love them and get lots of compliments on them and they are VERY warm!

These were my favorites of the Sorels I tried this fall and the Tofinos and the Cate the Greats. They're a bit chunkier than the Tofinos but they seemed warmer and better-made for real weather. They also have much nicer faux fur. Compared to the Cate the Greats, they were more comfortable and the shaft was not nearly as wide - they were just right. They seemed to be made for cold weather and they're also super cute with jeans tucked in. The reason I didn't end up keeping them, though, is that they don't come in half sizes. My normal size is 9 and they were too short, and I knew the 10's would be way too wide and too big. Thus the four stars!

I wear a 6 wide with a high arch and thought these would be wide enough based upon the reviews, but it was snug width wise, and it was hard to get to get my foot in because of my arch, I'm trying a 7 to see if that will work better.

I tried these in both a 9 and a 10, and ultimately wound up with the Sorel Caribous in a size 9. Here's why: These are sized just a smidgen smaller than "true to size", so my size 9 foot probably needed a size 9.5...but that doesn't exist. In the 9's, my toes pinched and my heel came up. In the 10s, my heel was all over the place. Still, it felt like a well constructed boot, and was cute to boot. When I put on the Caribous (ugly, big, and supremely practical) I knew I'd come home. They are plushy, true to size, and no ankle slippage...they made the Joan of Arctics feel cheap and thin in comparison (which they are not, but compared to this thick, cushy boot). Anywho, as a Montana girl I will trade function for fashion, so unfortunately these cute, functional and stylish boots are going back for a pair of very functional Caribous. Which I will review next! In other news, props to Zappos...ordered on a Sunday night, had these by Tuesday afternoon. Unbelievable!

The boot ran small I had to get a whole size larger. It is definitely a cold weather boot and great for snow and ice. Keeps my feet super warm. The boot is very stable and comfortable to walk in. On the style end of things, these boots are heavy and bulky. They feel wide.

I am very confused about others' reviews saying that these boots were too small. I ordered an 8 (my exact size) and am returning them for a 7½. Even with winter socks they run very big. My toe was about an inch back and my heel was slipping up when I walked. Otherwise, these are cute, fun, and warm winter boots!

Is this love at first sight? I ordered the grey and black boots to see which I liked best. Both are great, I chose to keep the grey (which is darker than the picture) for a little more contrast. A surprisingly light boot, with excellent materials - love the loops that the laces go through. Only thing I wonder is about the stiff - I think previous folks mentioned it; I felt it as well, as though the main support for the boot is pressing against my lower calf/ankle. Wanted to compare to another Sorel boot but they were out of my size. Zappos service rocks, as always!
