I love the fit of these shoes! Sometimes you put on a pair of shoes and just know you wouldn't change a thing. I can't speak to their durability, I just got them. I will echo what you'll hear from nearly everyone, Zappos' customer service is the best. The reviews I read before ordering were what swayed me to go with Zappos in the first place. Before I got these I'd ordered a different model and it didn't fit just right. The return was handled cheerfully and quickly. It's nice to order a pair of shoes from across the country and have them arrive the next day! I've recommended Zappos to all my friends!

This is my second pair of these shoes. The last pair lasted 3 years of constant use from September to May (before moving to sandals full time). This pair looks to be just as good as the last.
I have very wide feet and the wide widths are comfortable.
In additional to being comfortable, they look nice, and can go just about anywhere, from street to trail. They have a great multi-use tread that does well on both pavement and trail. I have always had a good experience with them as waterproof, and that is a bonus during rain or snow. I will continue to buy these as long as they don't change them significantly.

My second pair. The "Beluga" color is different than last year, but no problem. The removable insole allows me to use a more rigid support. I've had the Waterproof version and very much prefer these with Gore-Tex liner. Super fast shipping!

I bought these for an upcoming trip to The Netherlands, Norway, and the UK. I will do some light hiking in Norway, but I bought them mostly because of being waterproof. I am expecting some wet weather, and I do not want wet feet while on vacation. I have had foot problems, with plantar fasciitis in the past, and need good support for walking. I have put about 10 miles on these shoes, to make sure they are broken in before the trip. The shoes are very comfortable and stable. I cannot vouch for the waterproofness, yet, but they feel good, and will look fine, with all of my casual attire. I am very pleased with the shoes, and of course, Zappos' service is second to none.

I have not field tested it yet, but I can certainly comment on the fit and workmanship. I'm glad I am wearing Merrell again. The fit was perfect straight out of the box. Size 9, medium width, true to size. The stitching is consistent and the design is great. Plenty of toe protection and panels for breathability.

This is a slick pair of shoes! Great looks, comfortable right out of the box. Water beads up and shakes right off. I haven't noticed any of the new-shoe stiffness other reviewers have mentioned. I was initially concerned after trying on a pair of the non Gore-Tex WP Moabs at my local REI...the toe box felt snug even with thin non-hiking socks. Not sure if there's a difference between those and the Gore-Tex model as far as size, but this pair have plenty of room in the toe while still holding my heel and arch in place. I have slightly narrower than average feet (Saucony Bullets and Puma Whirlwind Classics are my casual shoes), so the normal width works great for me. I've had these for a week and used them mostly for work so far...can't wait to get them on the trail. Will update after a couple of hikes.

I wear these Merrell shoes all of the time for work. I decided to try the wide width and I am glad I did. I think the wider width has made all of the difference. I also needed to have these waterproof, so I went with the Gore-Tex.

Great shoe for me. This is my 3rd pair. They offer sufficient support (for a shoe not boot) and excellent waterproofing. The uppers are well constructed and you will definitely wear out the soles before the rest of the shoe breaks down.

These are great shoes. I've now had three pairs, the first two wore out normally over time. The third pair separated between the upper and the sole at the toe, but Zappos replaced them free, no questions asked!
Thumb's Up for Zappos customer service!

Love the shoes, very comfortable. A must buy. I read an earlier review regarding the shoe laces coming untied, I always use a double tie and they do become loose, just tighten them back.

Wear & Tear: I bought these shoes 2 years ago and they're finally starting to wear out after 2 harsh WI winters and a lot of Summer hikes. So their quality is top notch and worth every penny. They are starting to breakdown in the inner midsole but as I said these are 2 years old and really should have been replaced already. Hot/warm weather: The Gore-Tex does make these a little warm in summer, not oppressively so though but noticeable. Cold Weather: These things are warm when the weather isn't. You'll still need socks in Winter though, but not necessarily wool ones. Note this includes one of the snowiest WI winters (2 years ago) and one of the coldest (this year 2015) that I can remember. And I'm talking -20 below zero Fahrenheit. So don't worry about cold with these on. Plus the attached tongue keeps water/weather out. Also your feet will stay dry, regardless of the slushy snow puddle you may step in by accident. Comfort: The inner fit is great. I got wide ones. The base sole is a harder composite so these are best suited for casual walking or trail hiking IMO, great for biking too with the harder sole! I did try walking from the Warf in SF to the GG and my dogs were barking! So I wouldn't recommend these for extended asphalt walking, but that's really their only knock comfort wise. Plus they are "slip on" as the tongue is attached which helps the fit/waterproofing.

Great shoe, wear them every day, dress up or down, and then after two years buy the same pair! Comfortable, true to fit.

Great shoe. Lightweight, but sturdy. For me, size was true to an athletic shoe, not a dress shoe. I wear 13 in dress and 14 in athletic; I tried the Moab in 13 and it was a tad too small, but the 14 fit nicely.

I wear these in a greenhouse that has cement floors. Usually 10 hour days. Although I still have to change shoes a couple times a day because my feet start hurting, I wear these most of the day because they are comfortable and water resistant. Great shoe!

These are the most comfortable shoes to wear all day.
Feet are not sore or hurting by the end of day.

Very nice shoe- stiff at break in, but didn't last long. Nice support, decent normal colors and not a fluorescent advertisement. The goretex is amazing and dry to the bone. I run in these and bike, they are perfect for both. I'm a fan of Merrell's you just have to watch the sizing. I wear a 14 w and that's not a standard in every Merrell shoe sadly.

My husband loves these because they are good quality and very durable. These last him for several years and he is rough on his shoes. He has bought other sneakers that were flimsy and always comes back to Merrell shoes.

I was looking for sturdy outdoor shoe that wasn't too bulky to run in and also has excellent support. Good luck, aren't we all? I have a wide foot too, which makes it tougher to find the right shoe. I also like a good thick sole between my foot and the ground, which running shoes lack. The Gore-Tex wasn't a requirement but I saw that it was a few ounces lighter than the same shoe without. Right out of the box my foot slipped comfortably inside without loosening the laces which for me is rare with a new shoe. The 'W'size was almost too big and I had to draw the strings in some to get a nice snug feel. I wear Salomon and Asolo hiking boots and the Merrells are roomiest. I thought from the appearance that they would be more like sneakers than hiking shoes but they are more rugged than they appear. The sole is also quite boot-like and I am sure these would do fine on the trail with a backpack. Super comfortable with good flex. The minute I put them on, it felt like they had been on my feet for a year. Perfect for wearing all the time and doing whatever in. Including running laps at the high school track. If you are looking for a light hiker that will give you all the support and flex you need on the treadmill too,(plus you happen to have a wide foot) this may be your baby. Out of all the searching I did, Merrell had the greatest selection of wide sizes in outdoor shoes. These shoes gave me everything I wanted and more which is exceptional. Compliments to Zappos' selection and service once more as well.

Overall this is a really good shoe. During the first couple of days of wear I had a problem with the insole sliding to the outside of my left foot and causing some discomfort. I've replaced the insoles that come with the shoe with some custom insoles that I bought and this eliminated the problem.
The shoe is comfortable and sturdy and gives good traction on snow and moderate traction on ice. I've had the chance to test it out with the snowy weather and wet conditions we've had lately and I haven't had any problems with water getting in.

This is my second pair. The others lasted about five years and aren't really done yet. Rock solid hiking shoe if you don't like a boot. Keep your feet dry and warm.

I bought this shoe for walking in winter. I do 3-4 miles of a brisk walk each day and wanted something light, durable and waterproof. I have been wearing keen's, but those soles don't hold up as well as I would like and are very slippery on winter ice and snow. The Merrell's are very nice. Good, solid Vibram sole. Much more non-slip than the keen's, and waterproof. My only issue on the comfort is that they are a bit stiff. More of a boot feel than a shoe. Part of that is the Vibram I would think, but I'd like a little more give.

Great shoes, I was very impressed on how warm they are. I have never had a pair of shoes that were so warm. Then again I don't think I've ever spent this much for a pair of work shoes with Gore-Tex.

Great shoes, very comfortable. Based on previous experience with Merrell shoes, I ordered a half size bigger. I normally wear a 10.5, size 11 fits perfect.

These are the single best pair of shoes I've every purchased. They have held up great over the last few months of wear and never once let me down in Yosemite earlier in the year. They didn't require any break-in period and are surprisingly comfortable for hiking shoes. I am a Merrell convert now.
