Hurt ? my foot that has metatarsal problems.

This style does not fit my foot correctly. I normally wear a women's 10, regular width. In this style, the 40 is too long. When my heel is fitted properly in the heel cup the part that goes between the toes is too far forward. The 39 fits well length-wise, but my foot spills over the side, so the outside of my foot goes over the edge. I have a very slightly wide foot but I have never bought a wide width shoe.

Ordered 39 and wear 8.5 US M. Length too long and footbed too narrow for me. Liked the look of the shoe. Leather was nice.

I wish I could say they are so comfortable but, the bumps on the toe area caused major discomfort when walking in them. Returning

Ordered a size 36. As soon as they arrived I put them on thinking they were perfect. After wearing them to the grocery store that afternoon, I was in a lot of pain. The ridge under my met-heads, as well as the piece between my toes were causing the pain. All reviews told me to keep wearing them a little each day and my foot would mold to the shoe. I've had them for over a week, have worn them a little each day, but they're still not feeling any better. At this point, I can't return them because I've worn them so much. There goes $124 down the drain...:(

I really wanted to love these sandals. Based on prior purchases, Zappos recommended that I order the size 39. When they arrived they were way too big so I returned them and reordered a size 38. They, too, were too big! How could the smaller size still have so much extra room in the length? Also, the leather thong portion was so long it covered my big toe nail and there was no way to adjust it. I have long toes so I couldn't understand why this was happening. The look was very odd and awkward. The leather was very hard and stiff making it nearly impossible to fasten the buckle. Sadly I had to return the second pair. Not sure how to proceed. I am thankful for Zappos!

I exchanged the first pair I ordered because the leather was pretty scratched up when they arrived. Maybe it's just the nature of the oiled leather, but the second pair was scratched too, so I'm returning these. Ended up getting a washed metallic cream gold that were not scratched at all.

This is the first Birkenstock I've ever put on my feet that was unwearable. The toe post was so uncomfortable I couldn't even wear the shoe to walk across the room. Cute shoe, but that toe post is a deal breaker! I gave these sandals 3 stars overall because other than the toe post, the rest of the shoe is perfect.

I wear a 6 so ordered a 37 according to the chart. They're huge! :( Returning for the size down. Geez

The leather end of the thong piece is quite long and wide. It lays over your large toe and seems awkward. It left little room uncovered between the end of the leather piece and the wall of the sole. So, this is a little different from other thong-style sandals. Also, the sole seems to run more narrow. I am having to go with the Milano style instead and I've already noticed that the footbed in the Milano style is more accommodating to a wide foot. Now for the sizing, I'm somewhere between a 7 1/2 and 8. The 38 seemed short, but I don't know if the narrowness of the sole is an indication of overall sizing issues. I've ordered a 39 in Milano and that seems quite long.

I wanted these shoes to work. I am an 8-8.5. I ordered a 39 in accordance with the size guidelines and the size was a bit large albeit the shoes fit in accordance with the Birkenstock guidelines. I could have used a 38. Definitely downsize. I walked around the house a few times in them but they were extremely uncomfortable. I suppose eventually the sole would have softened up but the hard piece in between the toes was unbearable. I returned these shoes and stuck with my vionics instead. If you are looking for a stylish comfort show the vionic sole is softer, more supportive and generally more comfortable.

These were (are?) super trendy, and I hoped to replace my leather flip flops with them. Unfortunately, the way the strap rubs on the top of my foot is a deal breaker. They look great, and I wish they were more comfortable. The bad news is, they're not. The good news is, I found a different style of Birks that is perfect for me: Daloa.

I love the style of these shoes, but the thong is made of very hard plastic, and that hurts! It seems that the thong is not exactly where the big toe and the index toe join but a but further up -- where the joint of my index toe is located. I've tried these "thong protector toe guards cushions," but the gel cushions spread my index and big toe so that it looks very funny! These shoes would be perfect if the thong were made of a softer material!

The shoes are great, just don't order them in the sizes indicated on the website. I'm a 6 and the 27 is 2 sizes too big.

I am typically a 8.5 and ordered my size based on Birkenstock's recommendations. The shoe is about a size larger than my foot, and the plastic thong in between the toes is extremely hard and uncomfortable. I plan to return the pair I purchased and opt for a different sandal.

These are beautiful Birks! I wish I could keep them, unfortunately, even in a regular width, my feet come over the side of the shoe. It's very strange because my feet fit other styles fine. I have Arizonas and Mayaris that fit and look great. These seem narrower than other Birk styles.

These are pretty trendy where I am and I thought they would be cute for me because I've seen them on other girls my age and they looked good on them (I'm 27). They made my feet look ENORMOUS and clunky. So disappointed. I wear a 7.5-8, so I bought the 7-7.5 because others said it ran a little big. They made me look like a duck.

As a fan of the Gizeh, I was stoked to find them in a matte blue leather. I bought these at the same time I bought a new pair of standard Gizehs in bronze. Now, months later, this spring, I pulled out both pair and can no longer wear the oiled leather ones - the most expensive ones. The upper strap is not cut the same as the standard Gizehs (made of a composite material) and now give me a blister on the top of my toes. Too bad as they were a waste of money. I just bought the standard Gizehs in blue and I can tell the fit will last. Bummer as no amount of cinching up will make these work for me.

Loved the way it hugged my foot but sadly have to return because the thong part was way too hard and still hurt after five days of trying to break them in.

I love Birkenstock so I was super excited to order these! I am a tiny bit disappointed though in this style. I get black all over my feet when I wear these. I hope that goes away. I also wish I had ordered a half size smaller because they are kind of huge (which this brand is for comfort), but I feel a little like Big Foot. So I love the brand, but I'm not super excited about this particular shoe.

I have worn Birkenstocks for many years. I always wear thong style shoes. I love the look of the sandal, but in no way can I break in these with the plastic that goes between your toes. Is there a way to modify that? Love the looks and had this exact style years age, but cannot possibly wear these. I would love to hear from you.

Wanted to like these because they are so cute and the oiled leather in blue is a great color. Perhaps I am spoiled because I have been wearing Mephisto Helen for the past year and this Birkenstock just does not compare very favorably. First of all, there is almost no arch support compared to the Helen. The thong is very uncomfortable and the sandal doesn't seem to allow the foot to naturally roll. it appears to be totally flat from heel to forefoot whereas the Helen has a very slight elevation of the heel which is much better for the proper foot action. For almost the same pice as Mephisto Helen the Birkenstock does not seem to be constructed as well. Had to return them.

I loved the look of these sandals and tried mightily to keep them. I mostly wear European type shoes due to various foot issues and have never had a problem with a thong style before -- but I should have listened to other reviewers! The plastic is just too rigid and uncomfortable. Sorry, Birkenstock, you made a big mistake with this choice.

These Gizeh's look cute, but that hard rubber thong part between the toes is uncomfortable. I don't know why Birkinstock can't make it softer by padding it somehow. I knew it would probably bother me, but I wanted to try it. Well, I don't like a hard stick rubbing between my toes. I don't know who would. Otherwise, it would be a comfortable shoe.
