A nearly perfect shoe!

This is a classic sandal. I've been dreaming of having a pair for almost 10 years when I finally decided to go for it! It's great for people with wide feet, I'm wearing it at the smallest hook and it's still got breathing room. This pair of sandals totally made my pregnancy summer : comfortable, stable, room for growth when my feet got big! and lots of breeze when I was constantly too hot. I can't wait to wear them again and gain over the years. My dad had a pair of birkies that lasted him many years, hopefully the baby grows up watching me wear these sandals every summer!

I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis. These do not have a high enough arch to help me. Vionics have proven to be the best for me until this heels. They are very cute sandals. I ordered a 38 which fit my size 8 foot perfectly.

I've had multiple pairs of Birks over the years. I like the Gizeh style. I chose the black oiled leather and am in the process of breaking them in. The dye from the leather is rubbing off on my feet (it does wash off) and it also got on my light-colored jeans where they rubbed on them. My burgundy Mayori's did the same but eventually stopped. I can feel the toe piece; it's not as comfortable as my leather Mayor's that have leather between the toes, but I don't find it truly uncomfortable. I expect this pair to last me for many years.

LOVE ! the brown oiled leather in the Gizeh. But because I have bunions, they didn't work out for me...very disappointed :( I didn't have any problem with the thong like others did. Try them...such a handsome sandal !

Comfort for tired feet I have hard-to-fit feet and lots of difficulty walking, so finding the right shoe or sandal is crucial. As other reviewers mentioned, the footbed adapts to your foot, so you'll need to wear them for a bit before your feet feel really good in them. Also, break them in slowly--my legs were very sore after wearing them a few hours the first day. Since then, I find that these are my go-to shoes when I get home.

I ordered these sandals because of a recommendation from a fellow hair stylist. The first two days I wore them to work, they were very stiff and hard to walk in. The more you wear these shoes the better they feel. Still not the most comfortable shoe, but better than the alternative flat sandals without any support.

I love Birkenstocks! I've worn them for years and have too many styles and pairs to admit to. My normal Birkenstock size is 38 Narrow, but in these, I have a 38 Regular. I'm not sure why, but the regular definitely worked better in this particular style. I ordered the tobacco oiled leather and am disappointed in the leather dye; it is splotchy with dark patches. I returned one pair thinking it might just be an anomaly, but the second pair had the same problem. I kept them in spite of this 'cause, what the hey, I'll wear them to death anyway and the leather will age and mellow.

Never thought I'd like these, but I do! Took a few weeks of breaking them in until I could wear them for a full day. So much better for my feet than flip flops to wear around the house (I have plantar fasciitis). They are kind of ugly-cute and I get compliments from other women regularly. Hoping they last as long as I hear they do!

I normally wear a 6.5 and bought size 37 but they are a tad big and not nearly as comfortable as I thought they'd be. Actually, they were absolutely tear-inducing to wear at first, reminding me of the Eastern Block style "massage" I once received on vacation in Estonia! I've been breaking them in on weekends, and though they've gotten a lot better, the last round left a bunch of shredded skin on the side of my second toe where the thong rubs. I've wanted a pair of Gizeh forever, but I'm just not in love.

These are not as comfortable as I'd hoped, but maybe they'll keep breaking in. (I've work them on weekends for a few weeks but they still hurt occasionally). I normally wear a 6.5 and ordered a 37 but they are just a tad long, so maybe that's contributing to the lack of comfort. They look great, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I personally could not deal with having something between my toes. It was painful. They seem well made and true to size. Just not for me. I will go back to the other style I love (Granada).

Great shoe but this style just doesn't work for me. The hard plastic that goes between your toes hurts so badly it feels like you've bruised your second toe! I have other Birks that I love but these, unfortunately not so much.

Comfortable for walking, in spite of being a sandal. I'm used to sneakers but these are a good alternative for summer time. I'm a 6 and I ordered the 6-6.5 size (37). It's a bit larger than I expected but it doesn't feel loose: I adjusted the strap. Zappos is the best!

I have been wearing this model since the '90s. It is very comfortable. It stays on my feet well. The only downside I see to my Birkis is they don't really like to be wet.

I was looking for a pair of sandals that could withstand a lot of walking but still be comfortable and supportive. These definitely fit the bill! They're super comfortable and required no breaking in. The leather is high quality and the footbed is nice and lightweight but still sturdy enough to feel like these will last a while. Definitely size down. I usually wear a size 9/40, but the 39s fit with just a little extra room.

Zappos delivered the product the next day as usual. Terrific service . I have had surgery on my foot and for several months I could only wear something that does not touch the toes. These shoes give great support and they are very comfortable. I few days breaking in that is all.

I'm so glad I trusted the reviews on this shoe. Living in Southern California, I can wear sandals almost year round and often do. After years of flip flops I finally felt like I was ready to graduate to something with a little arch support and better construction. I settled on the oiled leather Gizehs in Habana and couldn't be happier. Once I broke them in (it took about three days), they became insanely comfortable and I've been wearing them almost constantly. They have great arch support and I feel like I can walk for miles in them, plus they're super cute and I get lots of compliments. Awesome buy, awesome service from Zappos (as always).

I've been wearing Birkenstock for years and decided to give one of the newer designs a try for a change. Unfortunately this pair wasn't a good choice. The plastic toe post proves too tough. It creates a resistance at the spot where it goes through the leather. Though the leather is soft, the pull of the rigid plastic at each step caused blisters on both my big toe and the next one to it. Not good for my rather tender skin. As always, the footbed has to be broken in and feels hard in the beginning, but that is part of Birkenstock's philosophy, molding the shoe to your foot while giving it a chance to strengthen through gripping movements. Not a problem for me. Last but not least, since Birkenstock went mass market quality has dropped visibly. A couple of decades ago a pair would last well over four years; now the cork/latex starts to crumble before its second birthday, be it the Arizona or the Boston designs, our family favorites.

I had to get these, after I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. I actually have found other brands that are much more comfortable and stylish.

I got these sandals because I read that they're pretty good for people with plantar fasciitis. They are excellent for wearing around the house. I usually can't stand up for very long barefoot because my heels hurt so bad but these sandals make my feel feel fine. However, I was really disappointed in how bad they hurt my feet outside of the house. I know for many people they need to be broken in but I've had mine for about a month or two now and they still hurt. The first time I wore them out the house I had friction burns on my toes and sole of my foot. I think the arch might be too high for my flat feet. I cant take them back now, but they're a really good shoe. Maybe not the best for flat footed people.

This is absolutely the best looking Birkenstock. I have last year's model in black patent and love it. Unfortunately, this years seems to have longer straps and doesn't work on my low volume/narrow foot. Otherwise, great shoe! You can walk in it for miles.

Great - These shoes are super comfortable but I recommend maybe going one size smaller than usual. I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 and in EU sizes I’ve worn up to a 41 but a 39 was WAY too big. Also the pink wash ones...are not really pink. Almost a peachy color so I was a bit disappointed with that, but otherwise, these are great.

Very Cute...But Need Some Breaking In - I really like the looks of the Birkenstock Gizeh. I bought them in Silver and they are really adorable. The fit is also good. The thong, however, is not very comfortable and will take some breaking in. They especially hurt going down stairs!
