I usually wear a 7.5 to 8 and the 38 was HUGE on me. The Tobacco brown color is also not at all as pictured. It is a very light tan. The color was so different I questioned whether I received the right color at all. The only option to return is to go physically to a store during the pandemic, which I cannot do so I am stuck with these too big shoes in the wrong color.

Way too narrow at the heel. I was really looking forward to sporting my new sandals but I had to return them.

These sandals are true to size for me. I'm a 7M in shoes and 7.5 in Nike's etc. I went with the 38's and they fit perfect. I tightened the strap all the way and there's no slip. They're not 100% comfortable yet as I'm still breaking them in, but I still love them! This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and I'm now a fan. Definitely will be buying more. I’ve only worn them for two summers and the bottoms are completely worn away! I feel like for $125, and for only wearing them 3 months of the year, they should last longer than two seasons.

Disappointed!!!!! I purchased these shoes in March, it is now May and they are already falling apart. The cork sole is broken and the leather has curled and frayed. These are cheaply made!!!!! I used to buy them years ago and they lasted forever. I tried a pair last year and the same thing happened. I will never purchase Birkenstock shoes again.

I love Birkenstock and I am so sad that the Gizeh didn't work out. Because I love the style. But this sandal is painful to wear! The piece between the toe is hard and not forgiving.

If you have very high arches, the kind of arches sometimes called dancers' arches or ballet feet -- even if you've never danced a step in your life -- the strap on these sandals will never reach across your foot. Through constant tugging, I got it down to the very last hole on the too short strap, and it was cutting in. I can't tell you whether it fits, because it won't fit anyone with extremely high arches, period.

SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!! I have several other styles of Birks- love them all. The Gizeh fits like a punishment.

These are a real disappointment. They are advertised as leather uppers but the thong is a piece of HARD PLASTIC. The plastic is nicely shaped with rounded edges but still not something that will ever mold to my tender toes. I should have sent them back but I wanted to like them as much as I like my Arizona Birks. The look is really nice but I may hot be able to wear them on a daily basis as I wanted.

I love everything about these Birkenstocks except that I bought them at the end of June and it's the end of August (2 months!) and the cork is already falling apart. It's splitting in half at the toe! For the money these should be better quality! So disappointed!

Meh. I wore these around my apartment for several hours before taking them outside, because I wanted to be able to return them if they weren't comfortable. They seemed fine enough, with consideration for the break-in period I had read so much about, so I decided to wear them to walk the four blocks from my building to the farmers' market. By the time I got home, my toes were black from the strap, I had two blisters forming on the bottom of my feet, and the huge blister already declaring its place in the world on top of my second toe was causing me to curse the fact that I was past the point of returning these monsters. I live in Los Angeles and wear flip-flops *literally* every single day of my life. This is not a problem with material rubbing between my toes, but on top of my toes. It's a first for me—a baffling, disappointing first. Nonetheless, I have high hopes that some adjustments will keep this from happening in the future. I mean, what other choice do I have?

Got this is in Habana size 7, narrow. Love the color and the style. Unfortunately it really hurt my feet. I've tried tightening and loosening the bands to improve comfort but it didn't do much to ease the pain. I'm not sure why but I experienced a lot of pressure on my second toes. It caused two little hard bumps to form on both toes. I cannot wear these for longer than 20 minutes anymore. I've also gotten blisters on the arches of both feet the first couple of times that I wore it for leisure walks. I'd return these if I had kept the original boxes.

The shoe is stiff, and the edge of the foot base often touches my toes. Very hard to get buckle in right hole because leather is so stiff. Not comfortable at all, and really very unattractive. The Oiled Leather looked "soiled" -- not fresh. A grubby look.

I was so happy to finally find flip flops that can fit snugly on my narrow feet, and provide good support at the same time. I am not sure why Birkenstock decided to use a very hard piece of plastic for the piece between the toes on an otherwise very natural sandal, but they have -- and ruins the shoe. It's been six weeks and I've been waiting for the plastic to soften even slightly or for the tender skin between my big toe and second toe to toughen enough to tolerate it. No luck. The pain between my toes makes the Gizeh wearable for only the shortest of walks. Very disappointed!

The hard plastic toe piece is unbelievably uncomfortable. These are going back. For me, these are instruments of pain. I'm ordering the Mephisto Helen instead.

I could not wait to get these shoes because of how they are currently trendy. Plus knowing the comfort reputation of Birkenstocks! However, I am very disappointed! They are extremely uncomfortable! The strap between the toes does not give & causes so much pain! I regret purchasing them!

I bought these sandals last summer and could not wear them, the part between my toe was very painful I tried just wearing them indoors for short periods but they still hurt. My friend has a pair which she loves, told me she did what we use to do many years ago, and that was to completely soak them then wear them wet to mold to my foot. Should I do this? I love the style of the sandal but cannot take the pain!

My shoes started falling apart within 2 months. They hurt my feet and I can't wear them. Wound up with plantar fasciitis. The cork is hard as a rock! So disappointed. The metal pieces that your toes grab around hurt very bad once the shoe is broken in. I've had Birks before and been happy with them but this must've just been a bad pair. Already worn so I'm just out the money, unfortunately. They are very good looking. My daughter has a pair and she can't wait to get home and put them on every day so maybe it's just this particular pair. Darnit!

This is the second pair I ordered and have to return. First pair ran a whole size larger so I returned them. This pair is so uncomfortable I can not wear them. The plastic in between my toes is so painful I can not wear them.

This should have been a really fun sandal. I was prepared to have to break it in, but I was not prepared to have the metal that holds on the buckle digging into my foot.
