Blisters - In an ideal world new shoes would never give you blisters. Alas, utopia doesn't exist. But the blisters have healed and my Gizeh's have been 'broken in'. They're comfortable and very cute. A good purchase if they prove to be durable. I've only had them a month.

SATISFIED NEW CUSTOMER - This is my first pair of Birks. I've been wanting some FOREVER! I just got them today and am totally in love. The comfort level didn't fit up to the hype, but they still didn't lose any points with me. I got the metallic silver and will definitely be buying other colors. Love at first sight and fit with my Birks. I am a college student and will definitely be seen flaunting my Birks all around campus. I would recommend them to anyone.

Gizeh thong - Shoe Maven Review #3 - By far my fave shoe! All summer long I turned to my Gizeh's. Dressed up with short or long skirts, or with slacks, and of course jeans. If you are a thong wearer, there is almost no break in time - but if not proceed with caution, the skin between your toes is more delicate than you can imagine. After break in - these shoes will feel like an extension of your foot. My only complaint is that I felt the sole wore down a bit too quickly, I got one full summer out of them, I will probably have to have them resoled next summer. But I did wear them almost everyday, and I love in NY so walking is the mode of travel for most. The strap is adjustable and the footbed will soften and mold to your foot quickly. Use the chart to find your size. Only the Boston seemed bigger that marked. I will be ordering these in more colours and having my original pair resoled soon. -SM

The shoes started to separate where the shoe bends. Zappos was phenomenal with their legendary customer service. No wait, or transferring to different employees. Real one stop shop.. I have told both of my daughters to buy from Zappos.nowadays saving time is priceless since both of them have demanding jobs.

Just ugly on.

My first time trying Birkenstocks. The style and fit were both great. The leather toepiece was incredibly uncomfortable. I was surprised because I wear rubber flip-flop sandals all summer with no discomfort. I could not wear these because it was so painful.

I used the review suggestions to wear the sandals frequently to cause them to conform to my feet. The size is perfect, although I usually take a larger (8.5 or 9) shoe. The thing is, although i am used to thong sandals, these really are uncomfortable in my toes. Im sticking to them for the present.

I love my Birkenstock Mayari. I wear them absolutely everywhere. I love the look for these but I can tell these are going to be flat ground only sandals. The left one is perfectly comfortable but something about my right foot and the toe bar isn’t quite right. Add unstable ground and the pressure between the toes is so painful. These are just like the last pair I bought that have since worn out EXCEPT there’s big glob of dried glue on the back near the heel. I would have returned them but I really needed them for the start of the school year. They’ll work, but it’s disappointing because of how expensive these things are!

I wanted to love these! Have worn Arizonas for years, like the style of the Gizeh. However could not tolerate the hard plastic piece between my toes, it just made them unwearable. Sad to have to send them back.

So “cute” (if you can apply that term to Birkenstocks) but I just knew I wasn’t going to be able to live with that piece between my toes. It felt hard and uncomfortable the very first time I slipped my foot into this sandal. I didn’t want to spend the time breaking it in to see if it got better (plus if you’re buying Birkenstocks, isn’t comfort the main reason?). Also, I have a very wide foot and this shoe, I believe, is a more narrow style of Birkenstock. It didn’t appear to be wide enough for my Fred Flintstone feet. Sigh. I got the same size and width in the Lugano style, however, and the fit was completely fine (not to mention immediately comfortable out of the box).

Fit comfortably but did not last as long as some of my other Birks. Maybe I need a more industrial sandal.

This is my go-to style in a Birkenstock and my go-to size so all was well there. My issues is with the color. The navy is SO dark it is almost a black and not for me. I have an older pair that is "insignia blue" or would love to once again find the "dress blu" patent. Guess I'll have to wait a few years for a better blue to come back around.

The arch support was non existant for me. The thong between the toes was hard and uncomfortable. They were much less attractive than my Mephisto sandals.

I really wanted the Gizehs to work for me. They are so cute and could have become my go-to shoes. But, I could not find a size to fit and the hard plastic post was painful. I normally wear a 9.5-10size. My other three pairs of Birkenstock are size 40, so I ordered the 40. They were big so I ordered a size 39. Way too small. My foot hung over the shoe on length & width. Then for a day or two, I tried wearing the size 40 in the house for 30 minutes or so hoping my feet would adjust. The posts were painful. My feet did not seat right on the shoes. I had to scoot my feet back about 1/4 “ on my right foot and almost 1/2” on my left foot, which is smaller than right to have the heel, arch and toes fit in the right place. But that caused the post to Not fit at the base of my toes. Instead it hit about 1/4 and 1/2” higher - obviously from scooting my foot up to fit appropriately in heel, arch and toes. Unhappily, I had to send them back. I wish Birkenstock would size these like previous Birks and get rid of the hard plastic post. Leather would feel so much better (if the shoes fit) and mold to your foot.

The toe post is pretty hard even with the strap as tight as I could make it. All kind of a non issue because they just weren't quite wide enough. Normally wear a 7.5-8

Not great comfort, cute, color wasn’t true to picture, ordered tobacco oiled and it’s more of a taupe.

I loved the style and the fit, however, like another reviewer, I received a pair with sweaty toe prints on them. I know we all need to try on shoes to see if they fit, but it was a little gross to see the evidence. I realize that the suede is also very susceptible to staining, but still, a quick try-on shouldn’t have left stains. When you are paying full price for something, you want them to be perfect. I returned these and ordered them from Birkenstock for the same price and free shipping.

Bought these to replace another pair of Gizeh sandals that had worn out- the quality if this pair was not great- the rubber sole doesn't fit the cork as I well as I'd expect of the brand and they look like seconds. I had ordered them just before a trip and needed to take them with me however so I didn't return them... a year+ later and I don't think you'd ever know they had any weirdness, they look just like any other pair of Birks does after a year and they are SUPER comfortable as always

Nice style but had to return them because the leather was quite scratched up. I was surprised that Zappos would send them. Out this way. Perhaps that’s the look of Oiled Lesther? Not for me. Wish I had taken a pic before returning them. Purchase at your own risk.

I normally wear a size 6, but a 36 in European size, so I ordered the 5-5.5 and that was the correct size. These are super cute and the footbed was comfortable, but the leather thong rubbed my 2nd toe just wearing about the house to test them. That and the rubber toe separator were just too irritating for me. If you are sensitive about that, you might want to steer clear of this style, as cute as they are. I returned and will be trying a different Birkenstock style.

Shoe is nice but unfortunately, it was broken, so had to return it.

Felt smaller than other Birkenstock gizehs I have I the same size. And the tobacco brown color on these were way darker in person than on line. Will be returning these.

Oh my gosh, not the Birks of bygone years! It's really too bad, I used to live in them but now they are really stiff, and the leather isn't supple at all. Disappointed.
