These are really cute and super supportive, but to keep the thong from putting pressure between my toes I needed to tighten the straps to the point of them being uncomfortably tight. Just not for me. Going to try the Mayari instead.

I absolutely love my new Gizeh Birkenstock Sandals! The fit is true to size for me and the sandals are more comfortable then I initially expected them to be based on many of the reviews I read. However, I would’ve liked a tighter width, but there was no option to select a narrow width. The leather is also high quality and exceeded my expectations. I’m quite impressed by the total construction and design of the sandal and I’m so glad that I finally made the decision to purchase a pair of Birkenstock sandals.

I am a true size 6 1/2 so thought the 37 would be a perfect fit. but they were to big. which was surprising since run a little big. I went down a size. Much better. The leather is soft and pliable so I wear them around the house for slippers.

I bought and returned 9 pair of Birkenstock’s before I finally found the right size. I normally wear a size 6 1/2 or 37 shoe, but had to go to a size 36 in these. First pair I got the leather was so stiff they hurt to put them on, so back to Zappos they went. Although stiffer than I’m used to, I’ve read all the reviews and am keeping my fingers ( and toes) crossed that as these break in, the comfort level will increase.

Nice sandals and a good fit, but the toe piece was a little too far up my foot and I didn't like the way they fit on me.

I purchased these sandals in Euro size 36 thinking they would work for me since some of the reviews said they run large. I have a small foot and normally wear a size 6-6.5 so I figured I would be okay going down a size. I was surprised that I had about a inch space in between the heel and heel bed. From the pictures I had seen and from reviews I knew this was not a proper fit so I returned them and ordered the next size down which was a 35. I am so happy that I did because they are a perfect fit. I have 4 stars because of the fit. Once I got the correct fit I am satisfied overall with them. It's only been a week so from what I've read you have to give them time to adjust. I will say they are comfortable so far and the arch support is great. I only wear them for a couple of hours a day until my feet adjust to them. Bought them for my upcoming cruise because I will be walking a lot so hoping they will be good for my feet. I will say that so far they are what I expected and maybe with time, they will be the best pair of sandals I've ever owned. I've never owned a pair and needed a good pair of support sandals since I have osteoarthritis in my knees. They do run large so beware of that. You should be okay if you measure your foot as they suggest and go by your measurement. I opted not too because I thought they would be too small but I was wrong, the smaller size was perfect. I think these will be my favorite shoes! Zappos customer service is excellent!

Love the sandals! Still breaking them in but that's ti be expected with these shoes. The leather has a worn in look, trendy. Happy customer here!

I wear a 5.5 and the size 36 was HUGE on me. I had to switch to the faux leather to get a size 35. The size 35 pair arrived today and fit perfectly. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that Birkenstock makes the oiled leather Gizeh smaller than a 36... story of my life.

I’m a true 7.5 and it was recommended that I buy a size 38. Unfortunately, the 38 was too big for me. Returning for a size 37. Other than that, beautiful shoe!

Overall I love these shoes!

I love Birkenstocks. This is my first pair in the Gizeh style and I feel like they will need some breaking in, but I like the style and love the arch support. Great quality, as always.

I love the Gizeh and this is my 3rd pair. Unfortunately, I’m returning them as they’ve clearly been worn (on carpet I assume). I can see the outline of someone else’s toes and the footbed is slightly worn. Hoping to get a good replacement as I love the shoe.

Review for Zappos Rewards Points I love the cork foot bed, and these are GREAT for summer shoes! I love that these are a bit dressier (but still casual) sandal alternative to leather flip flops. I did notice the leather piece between my toes for about a week or so, and then suddenly I didn't feel it at all. These shoes break in really easily. My only complaint is that every time I wear these shoes for about 3 hours in a day, I get shin splints the next day. This does not happen with my Birkenstock Boston clogs, which is so confusing. It's such a bummer! I have flatish feet and I do think I tend to pronate, which may not go well with the kind of foot support offered in this shoe. I will not stop wearing them for shorter events, though... Love the look too much!

I really wanted to like these shoes but the ran big and felt very bulky on my feet. I ordered these hoping for a sandal that had arch support and while the arch support felt great, my foot slipped even with the buckle tightened all the way. I was bummed to have to return these.

My daughter has these in a 37 and after trying hers on though I needed a 38 however they didn't fit right. Ended up with the 39 and love them.

Toe post hurts. Otherwise, very comfy shoe.

Ran small. I have had five pair of Birkenstocks over the years. These are the only ones that were too small-were far too short.

I have been wearing Birkenstocks for about 30 years and have many pairs an have always love them. The Gizeh were a bit narrow although I ordered regular. When I compared the soles of the Gizeh to other pairs I own they are a bit narrower which in my case makes a BIG differences. I have worn them around the house and they feel nice wish they were a soft foot bed like other Birkenstocks :)

Runs long and wide. The narrow style is more typical to a regular width shoe. Regular is more in line with a wide shoe. Order down in size and width.

These are my go-to casual shoes in the warmer months. I prefer the look of these to the faux leather colors in the same style, and the extra cost was definitely worth it for me. I've had these for over two years, and the cork is starting to crack on one of the shoes at the big toe joint, but this is to be expected given how much I've worn them.

I have the blacks and decided to get the browns. The dye job was a little sloppy. Second pair I have to return for the same reason.

These are super cute and comfy. The fit on the sole of my foot was so perfect I didn't want to take them off. The regular width was perfect on my wide feet; they run about a half-size large so order down. However, I have short, squat toes and so the toe strap was chafing. I think for people with typical- to long-length toes and typical- to thin-width toes these would be perfect.

I really want to love this sandal. It is so cute! But, unfortunately, the piece between the toes is very hard plastic and kills my feet. Why is this piece not leather like the rest of the shoe?? Otherwise, I love it. :( Sending them back.

Took off one overall star because Zappos only carries the regular and narrow women's sizes and one colour in the wider men's size. If you have feet on the wider range of normal, these might be very uncomfortable to break in. The style is classic and they are, as always, very well made.

I really like the style and footbed of this sandal. The plastic thing between your toes, however, is very painful at first. I am used to wearing shoes that have a strap between the toes and it usually doesn't bother me. I likely would have sent them back had I known the pain that I would experience after 15 minutes of wearing them out on the street, but since I'd already worn them out, I knew I had to make them work. The pain inbetween my toes for the first 10 wears or so was an intense pain that was pretty awful. I could not walk far in them. I do not experience that anymore, but if I walk too far I will still feel some slight discomfort between my toes. I'm really not sure why they chose to make it plastic - not a good idea. Aside from that, they are pretty and comfortable to walk in now.
