I purchased the tobacco oiled leather and they are beautiful and so comfy. Definitely my go to sandals when my feet need a hug. My foot is a solid 8.5 so I went with a 38 based on other reviews (I was able to try on a friends size 38, too) and the fit is perfect -- my heel fits perfectly in the heel cup and my long middle toe just touches the front lip. Love these sandals and love Zappos too -- love your fast shipping!

These are really comfortable shoes! The only thing that takes some getting used to was the large piece in the toe area, but after a few times wearing them, it was fine.

The sizing chart is incorrect. I ordered a 37 based on the Birkenstock size chart but I wear a 36. I have to return these. I wish the chart would have been correct because i needed these by this weekend. now I have no shoes to wear and have to change outfits.

Beautiful shoes but they definitely run large. I'm a size 8-8.5 and originally ordered the 39 which was too big. Size down!

EXCELLENT SHOE! Always thought Birkenstock for older women...and not stylish but love this looks great with shorts. I had to exchange as first one was too big, perfect with a wider foot like I have. Black is classic...also looks great with short skirts.

This is my favorite everyday shoe! I've had the same pair for about 9 years, and they've finally bit the dust. Ordered a new pair, and it's amazing how stiff they start off (I don't remember that, but it was 9 years ago!). These break in so nicely, it is like not wearing shoes at all. Love them. Only negative is their sizing is not comparable to U.S. I wear a 6-1/2 or 7 and had to buy a 36 instead of 38 (which is equal to a size 5, according to their charts).

I really like these shoes. I have worn them for two days straight out of the box and have had no discomfort with breaking them in. I also have no problem with the plastic toe piece, but I am very used to wearing thong style shoes, so maybe I am just accustomed to having something between my toes. The black leather dye came off on the top of my foot, but washed right off. Overall, I am very happy with these shoes!

I really like these shoes. They're my first pair of Birkenstocks and so far so good. Like others have said, the sole feels a bit hard at first. I'm been wearing them in slowly so my feet don't get sore. I have a slightly narrow foot and I like that I can adjust the strap enough to where it's comfortable. It's usually not enough for me on other shoes to tighten straps to the smallest setting but in this case the holes allow for appropriate adjustments. I originally ordered my usual size 6-6.5 (37) as the Birkenstock website suggests, but I had to return them because they were too big. I ordered the next size down and they are much better.

If you suffer from knee or low back pain, these shoes could change your life. After breaking them in over a few weeks, I noticed a HUGE difference in terms of knee pain and how long I could walk before experiencing foot discomfort. I just bought a second pair in a different color. They are extremely versatile, and while aren't the most gorgeous pair of shoes I own, they are cute and go easily with everything. These gizeh sandals are also so comfortable I wouldn't even care what they look like. I prefer the leather to the birko-flor material. Size chart is a little off - I'm usually a size 8 and got a 38 which says is for sizes 7-7.5. They fit my size 8 feet perfectly.

This is my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and I am completely a convert. I love them!! It took a few days to break them in but well worth it.

So comfortable! Ordered them three times to find the right size, but they fit like a dream. I usually wear an 8.5-9, the size 38 fit, which is marked as US size 7-7.5.

I can't believe I waited so long to try the Gizeh style. I usually wear the sandals with a heel and a buckle so that they stay on my feet, and I have some clogs and some slip ons as well that I wear mostly at home. These, however, stay on amazingly well, moreso than the regular slip on style, and as such are more appropriate for a day out of the house, work (if appropriate), shopping, walking to the pub, whatever. Obviously I wouldn't want to be wearing these if I had to run from zombies, but for regular use, great shoe. Also, I love Birks for the consistent sizing. I am always a 39, regardless of the style. Most brands you just never know what size to order because the different styles fit differently.

Love these shoes! They will feel stiff at first. Wear them around the house for a few days (for a few hours at a time) to break them in. Once you break them in and get them molded to your fit, you'll be hooked!

These shoes run small. I am a true 9½ and had ordered sizes 39 and 40. They were both too small. I am now returning them for the second time to get size 41.

These shoes are amazing! Such great quality and support, I haven't worn anything else since I bought them. Zappos shipped them to me so quickly, two days before the scheduled arrival date. One of the best buys I have made!

I purchased these on a whim. I was looking to replace some gladiator sandals and thought these looked cute on the celebrities I've seen wearing them. I love them. The thong part is made of plastic, not leather, just fyi. I'm learning to walk correctly and not jam my foot forward into the thong--when I do it is uncomfortable, but I'm getting the hang of just letting the shoe do the work. The leather flap that covers the toes a bit is really helpful to keep the shoe on and keep me from lifting my toes to walk all the time. The footbed is the harder sole footbed. I have shorter toes and I thought these would look bad, but they are really cute. I find myself reaching for them all the time. And they are comfortable. Birkenstocks are designed to promote foot health and alleviate foot pain. Sure, they're not the most glamorous of footwear, but I appreciate the comfort and philosophy of the shoe much more. I've been shopping and chasing after my kiddos wearing them and have absolutely no complaints. I made sure to buy the oiled leather ones because I don't like synthetic sandals--they don't wear as well. Looking forward to years of use. I wear a size 8 and I purchased the 38's in a regular width. My husband says "Wow, your foot was made to fit in Birkenstocks." And I think Birkenstocks are actually made to fit feet.

I have owned Gizeh Birkenstocks since the early '80s when stationed in Germany while in the Air Force. I love them and have worn them around the world. They are well worth the price!

I really like them, as I wanted flip-flops for a VERY LONG time, but I cannot wear regular flat ones - I get charly horses. These have wonderful foot bed, I love them. I do have an issue with rubbing between my toes, but I'm ready to deal with it due to the otherwise amazing comfort.

I love these shoes! They aren't the most fashionable, but they are so wonderful I find a reason to wear them with everything. I haven't worn a different pair of shoes since they arrived in the mail.

I love this shoe-I bought it in my actual size 9 (40) originally and didn't like the way it looked so I sized down and it fits and looks much better.

These shoes rock! I've had them for a month and I can honestly say that I've worn them every day. (No judgments here!) Give them a fair breaking-in period. Also, the rubber toe thing may give you a blister, just tighten the straps as tight as you can, comfortably. You won't regret this purchase. The color goes with everything!

These are great sandals! They looked great with everything, and I wear them practically everyday. I did find that it took me a few days to break them in. These are very nice, quality sandals. I saw a target store brand look a like sandals, and the birkenstock sandal is so much nicer. These are definently worth the money.

These were for my wife, but she has said, they are so much more comfortable then I anticipated". This is right out of the box. The subsequent weeks, the cork and leather have softened and her foot bed became more comfortable. I would concur with this because I have a very similar pair but for men. I wear them all the time, as in house slippers, outdoor sandals, beach cruisers, etc. I walked 18.4 miles in them the first week I had them and they just get better and better each stride.

I've been rocking the Gizah for about 7 years now. The design is both chunky and flattering- oh and super comfortable!. I receive compliments everywhere I go! This go round I Went for the tobacco oiled leather. The light tan distressed leather is really the perfect understated accessory for summer tanned legs.
