First of all, I love Zappos! They make it so easy to shop and their customer service and app are exceptional. I originally bought these sandals in my normal size, which happened to be a bit to large, since I usually wear a half size up because my feet are so wide, but this style of Birk runs on the wide side, and it's important that your foot fits into the molded foot shape of the sole. I was able to initiate my return from the app and ordered the right size and got it the next day by lunchtime. Amazing. These sandals are perfect for my abused feet; I have high arches and love to wear flats, which isn't a great combo, so these sandals are kind of like pretty orthotic shoes. It takes a little getting used to, but so does good posture. It's mildly uncomfortable at first but it's good for you in the end. Also, I don't find the thong piece uncomfortable like some people claim to. If you wear flip flops a lot, you'll be fine with it.

I own several pairs of these sandals, they are the best, I love them, well constructed comfortable and they look good. I have bunions and this style works for me, no pain!! Shopping with Zappos is painless, I have been with them for sometime the customer service is excellent from the moment you place your order up to delivery and if you need to exchange or return no problem no hassle, other businesses should train with this company. It is always a pleasure to work with them.

First pair of Birkenstocks after researching comfy sandals online. Normally, I'm a Merrell's fan (still love them too). It took about a week to break in. I thought I was going to put them on and instantly feel comfort. But after wearing them each day (5-7 days) - the comfort finally kicked in. My new favorites,love'em! But for me, it took approx a week - and then perfection. Wear them at home first before packing them for vacation - they're terrific!

These are my favorite shoes! This is my second pair. My first I wore until there was nothing left of them - almost eight years - and I live in Ca where I wore them almost year round. Tao they last! I am an 8 but wear a 38 in birks. There is the tiniest breaking in period where the toe thing can feel a bit funny but it soon becomes like second skin.

I love these! I put them on as soon as they arrived and wore them for the rest of the day they were so comfortable. My last Birkenstocks stretched enough that I decided to order a size down on these and as they continue to break in, I am glad that I did.

Love these Birkenstock sandals! I felt like the Gizeh took a longer time to break in than my Mayari Birkenstocks. Size was same as my other birk sandals.

Very nice supportive sandal. The only reason for 4 stars on comfort is because it took time to get used to the strap between the toes, but it only took 3 days! Don't give up on them for that reason until you give them time. I got a 39, fit great, my true shoe size is 9.

Years ago my wife had Birks (original version) and loved them, but at some point they just disappeared. I was going to buy her some for Christmas but saw this style and decided on them instead. The size that I chose was wrong, but Zappos quickly made the exchange for the right size and my wife absolutely loves them. Cute style, and she says they are incredibly comfortable. Too bad it has been so rainy recently (in Los Angeles!) or they would be getting more foot time!

Other reviews helped in my ordering process, and I am so glad that I read several! I wear an 8 - a solid 8. I bought a 38 (which is listed as 7-7½) and they fit perfectly. The color (tobacco) is absolutely gorgeous, with soft leather! These will not be my only pair. They are heaven for your feet!

My daughter is over the moon about these shoes. She cannot believe how comfortable they are. I insisted that she go with leather instead of burkee-buck, and she is glad about that decision.

As with all Birkenstocks, these take several weeks to break in. But it so very worth the blisters and discomfort. Now they're molded to my feet and I hate to wear anything else!

Love these shoes. Wear them almost daily. If in doubt go with the slightly bigger size as they take a couple of wears to mold to your feet, but then they are so comfortable.

I am a 7 normally and ordered a size down (37). There is a little wiggle room but not much. The size smaller would likely have been way too small. Very comfortable so far.

These are beautiful! I had originally ordered the Birko-Flor sandals from another store not realizing the uppers were not leather. I was extremely frustrated with their customer service and decided to order these here knowing I could get them quickly with free shipping and return them if needed. I usually wear an 8.5 and the 39 fit perfectly. The plastic between the toes can take a tiny bit of getting used to but I wore them out of the box for hours and they were great. Love them!

I love my new Birks! They are just the perfect color leather and so very soft. I found them to be true to size & width; the arch is much better than my pair of Arizona's. The toe piece everyone complains about is not uncomfortable at all.

I LOVE these shoes. I went back and forth between the lighter and darker brown color oiled leather and finally settled on the lighter (tobacco) color. They are a great neutral, they have a much more rustic/natural/casual feel than the darker brown, so if you're in search of a more polished look I'd recommend the darker shade. I wear between a 7.5 and 8, and had tried on my mom's size 39N Gizehs which fit fine but felt a touch narrow, so I really was hesitant to follow other reviews and go with the 38 in regular width, but that's what I ended up ordering. I'm so grateful for all the other reviews, the 38 fit perfectly. I'm still breaking these in, but they're already quite comfortable. I certainly wouldn't try long walking days in them until they've been broken in a bit. Overall I really am thrilled with my purchase, I was a little apprehensive about spending so much on a sandal, but can say that I will be a Birkenstock wearer for the rest of my life. As always, Zappos customer care was spot on!

I really perseverated about buying these sandals but I am so glad I bought them. These are the more expensive ones but I like having real leather. Plus they are so comfortable. I just had my 2nd kid and my feet grew! I previously wore 10.5 and 11s so I got the 42 and they fit perfectly. You won't go wrong by buying these! Just wish I could wear them all year.

These are beautiful! I've had several pairs of Birkenstocks over the years, and they all look extremely masculine. I'm excited to have a pair that looks a little more feminine but maintains the sturdy construction and extreme comfort I've come to expect from this brand.

This is the 3rd pair of Gizehs that I have owned. Super comfortable - I can be on my feet for hours without discomfort. Will continue buying!

My first pair of Birkies, and I love them. I was having pain in my heels and these are great shoes to wear in the summer instead of cheap flip flops. You do have to break them in. In this style I do feel like they ran maybe half to a full size bigger than other Birkenstock styles I tried. So I went down down a size.

Just received the sandals on Friday but wore them out to dinner Friday evening. Just like a Birkenstock should, they were comfortable and the fit was perfect.

After buying and trying many different sandals. I finally found the perfect summer sandal in the classic Gizeh. I love the brown oiled leather - which looks classic and retro and goes with everything. The trick for sizing (for me) was to order the 38 Narrow - which fits great - with just a little bit all around, which I like. I am normally 8 or 71/2 but the regular width felt too loose for walking safely - the narrow still gives me room - but stays securely on for walking thru my day. I love how the oiled leather burnishes with age and looks like a sandal I might have worn in 1969!

Can't go wrong with these Birkenstock sandals. I ordered what I thought was the correct size but since I am between 7.5 and 8 the European 39 was too long.I was able to exchange them for the 38 size and they arrived in two day and they are perfect for me. I have worn Birkenstock sandals for at least 20 years and although they are expensive, they outlast any other sandals by many years so in the long run, they are worth it.

Oh my goodness I originally bought the Arizonas. I had such a tough time. I first went to my local store in town thinking I will get properly fitted. No! First I am between a 6-1/2 to 7 depending the shoe. So they sold me a size to small. Got home and toes were touching the top of toe bar when I flexed my foot. I took them back wanting a refund so I could order on Zappos. They gave me a hard time. Just wanting to exchange. I had not wore the shoes. So then they exchanged for a size up. They also gave me narrow. I said can I try the reg. foot bed? The sales associate said oh in America there narrow is our reg. NO! I don't have big feet nor do I have wide feet but the narrow just didn't feel right.. I even emailed Birkenstock sent them a photo. They confirmed that narrow was to small and return for a better fit. Lol that wasn't going to happen. So I called Zappos. I ended up ordering the Gizehs in size 37 in reg. and they fit perfect absolutely perfect! Customer service was so great I can't say enough about how grateful and happy Zappos made me. My customer service rep I felt went above and beyond to help me! I will always order at Zappos not straying again! The Arizonas sadly I had to donated to the homeless in hopes someone will be able to use them. And honestly the Gizehs are so much flattering on the foot! I couldn't be happier! Thank you!

Everyone knows that Birkenstock is synonymous with comfort, but what's held me back from getting them before is the width. I got the narrow size of these and they fit perfectly. After only 1.5 days of wearing them, I did get a little blowout of the plastic sole in the back. Not sure what happened but I was a little disappointed that they showed wear that soon (definitely could have been, and most likely was, my fault for hiking in them right away). Obviously, they're great.
