I think these are really good shoes for the right person. It just wasn't me. They are well made and good looking. I found them to be very tight when I bought my true size, so I tried a half size longer and also went to a wide shoe. That worked. My real objection was that there are too many closely spaced eyelets and it was thus kind of a pain to tie them. That doesn't sound like a big issue, but it was difficult to even get my fingers between the laces to snug them up. Once they were on, they just seemed a little confining for me.

Living in Manhattan, I walk a lot. A LOT! Being over 60, my feet have many miles on them and were starting to ache. I saw a comedian recently joking about wearing "orthopedic grandpa shoes," and I thought, "hey, maybe that's just what I need!" These Brooks shoes do the job perfectly. I may buy a second pair.

Since I've only had the Addiction Walker for two weeks I can only comments on fit, comfort and style. Being cursed with EEEE feet, those of you like me know instantly whether a shoe fits right or not. While my size in athletic shoes is a 9 4E, I took the advice of several reviews and order a half size up at 9 1/2. And the perfect--both length and width is perfect for me. Have been a long time New Balance customer because their 4E shoes fit me well--and few others offer much in that fit. But in recent years I have been very disappointed with the declining quality of their products. It's been one issue or another. So then I "discover" Brooks offers my size. The shoe is very sturdy and offers much better comfort and support than ligther weight, synthetic -based shoes. My only complaint is: "really--white, black or nubuck colors only?" Now I"m an old guy (70+) but I don't want colors from the last century! New Balance at least offers some jazzy colors. Will have to wait of course to comment on durability of the Addiction after a year or so.

Really good shoe, sizing is fairly accurate. Inspite of the length of time to get the RIGHT shoe, I'm very pleased.

My feet are very hard to fit. Due to many operations on both feet, they are wider than average, 4 or 5E in mens. After much trial and error with women's sizes, I finally found these in men's. They fit in every way. The length is right, the width is right, and they feel good after a couple of hours standing or walking. I am thrilled and grateful to have finally found shoes that are comfortable on my feel.

Felt have size smaller with my orthopedic arch support but still comfortable. If you have a high instep you cannot lace up to the last eyelet. Also, souls are slippery on wet surfaces. Knowing that I would buy again. They are comfortable and offer great support. I have plantar fasciaitis and these shoes help a lot with great cushioning.

I have been wearing New Balance for as long as I can remember because they always accommodated my extra wide feet. I gave Brooks a try because my chiropractor recommended them for their superior support. That support was indeed excellent, but the 4E width felt much narrower than the same designation from NB.

My addiction is the addiction shoe. I have a pair of the addiction 12, good shoe, solid shoe...I thought I'd try the addiction walking shoe, again good, solid shoe, good arch support and comfortable.

I have tried a lot of shoes and nothing helps my poor flat feet like these shoes coupled with an Aetrex Customizable flat/low arch orthotic. The inside at the back of the shoe starts to crack after a number of months, but I put up with it for the comfort they give me. I only wish they came in grey.

One shoe felt like it was made different than the other which made them uncomfortable

These are comfortable and work well with orthotics. The Nubuck are a little cooler in summer, but not great in wet weather. They do not last long. I use them every day and need buy 2 pairs every year.

My husband bought a 12.4 width 4E in this shoe. It is a whole size up from usual 11.5 size in New Balance or Deer Stags. He wore them in the house for a day or two and they felt ok. He has worn daily now and likes them. Very hard to find wide shoe sizes for men.

Brooks Addiction Walker works reasonably well for family member who has neuropathy & bad hammertoes & also requires custom orthotics in place of those that come in any shoes. Takes 12 4E to accommodate hammertoes, otherwise would wear probably 11.5 D or EE. Fortunately, heel in 12 4E is not wide enough to cause his foot to slip out. Only reason for one star deduction is shoe's toe box needs to be slightly higher due to his hammertoes. Thus he starts laces at second set of holes near toe box. Leaving first set unlaced allows a little looser spread in toe box, helpful but not cure-all. Hard to find suitable shoes in his case.

Super comfortable! Love these shoes

Put over 2500 miles on these and about ready for a new pair Super comfortable. Most comfortable shoes I have worn. The only negative is the toe flap comes unglued(Shoegoop max hd fixes)If the front flap was stitched they would be perfect

Good quality shoe, but size was a bit smaller than expected, making for a snug fit. The laces are not long enough. The soles are *very* slippery, so be careful walking on slippery or icy surfaces when the shoes are new. Not sure if I will buy these again. I might go back to the Timberland PRO Valor Newmarket.

Nice looks and styling. First putting them on they were tight, but loosened within a couple hours. However, do not order these for any non-skid usage! I work in a restaurant and they are hazardous! I am seriously disappointed!

Took a while to break in

These Brooks shoes will probably do better after more wearing and breaking in. I swapped out black laces for the stock brown.

Bought a pair in brown and black. Performed very well.

Great shoe. Well made but a little too wide. Had to return it.

Great shoe. Would give it a perfect score except shoe laces are too short.

I have plantar fasciitis. The stability of this shoe works great to keep that in check. I have owned at least 10 pair. The are comfortable from day one. Complaints include the high price and relatively short life. You won't get a year out of these shoes.
